    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 196.4

    04/11-DNW- (Trend Weight: DNW)

    04/17-DNW- (Trend Weight: DNW)

04/18-197.0- (Trend Weight: 196.7) Down nearly 2 lbs since the last weigh in. Oh, but that trend weight! It is the Ye in “Ye of Little Faith”. I’ll start turning that around as best as I can but it is Easter Weekend. I will work hard to convince it that I’m going to do better! I went to bed last night after finding out about a shocking death in our community. The lady that had the stroke about a year ago. I had taken her to her physical therapy a few times. I thought she was doing somewhat better. She is quite a few years younger than me, a hard working well known person in our community, and a wife and mother whose children my own children were very very close to. I’m not sure exactly what happened, it was totally unexpected. I am praying for peace for her family. I hope everyone who believes and celebrates will have a wonderful Good Friday. Let us Never Forget.

🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰 04/19-197.0- (Trend Weight: 196.8) I find if I prelog for the day it is much more effective and my day goes smoothly. Until lately. I have been prelogging and sticking to it for the first meal of the day, but not the 2nd (larger) meal. I also have not been sticking to the pre-planned snacks. This is keeping me at floating along and not swimming like I should be. Stick to plan Donna! Yes, you are extra busy but that is Exactly what the pre-planning is for! I'll forgive myself for yesterday as I had a bad sugar drop which usually brings on quick frenzied eating. But all the other days…..Um, no.

    04/20-xxxxx- (Trend Weight: xxxxx)

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    TODAY: 4/19 DNW

I was awake from 12 AM to 5 AM and then got up at seven so I did not weigh. A very restless night sleep I did something to my neck and back and was tossing and turning and hurting. It’s better now. Our neighborhoods stations of the cross were just beautiful… I was able to get in 🚶‍♀️12k.

Nutrition?! it was hit and miss because once again, I did great until 2 o’clock, had some Good Friday crawfish and one light beer, I was good to go with a protein drink @ 5pm, and then I ate a croissant! 🥴. I’m truly looking forward to the new round - I won’t have any distractions or strange schedules… my goal is to make good choices no matter my schedule!

    4/18

DNW Woke up too early again. Dehydrated and puffy. I planned to have chicken breast for lunch, but I didn’t make it home in time so I ended up picking up the most healthy looking chicken quesadilla at fresh market…Took DGS Tucker to see King of Kings. 🚶‍♀️7k. We both fell asleep in the movie for a tad bit. I’m so tired. Today it’s crawfish and sunshine. Thank you, Jesus. 🙏

    4/17 DNW

I worked too long and didn’t eat lunch till 2pm. Funny how on days that I’m fasting that’s no big deal -have often fasted for 24hrs. But yesterday I was “staving” Ate redfish & truffle fries… no dinner Woke up @ 3AM. = DNW. SO SORE. I’ll do better today. PLAN!

Two eggs for breakfast, chicken breast at 11:30 and then I’m picking up DGS Tucker to go see “King of Kings!” Can’t wait! Lean burger & protein shake to round out my day.

4/16 132.2 this weight seems about right and a true measure of where I am.  The “mmmk 132… “ Still waiting on TMI.  Ate much better yesterday! ✅💦 🥩 eggs, lean grass-fed hamburger and chicken breast /thigh. Yum. Small high-protein yogurt & berries. 🚶‍♀️8k without a structured walk. And even a few 🏋️‍♀️RDL’s! Repeat today.

Took a bad fall yesterday on the property… BAD. wasn’t watching where I was going and caught myself just before I face-planted. So lucky. A little sore this morning but A-OK. The past few days I’ve been using muscles I never use… We will probably wrap-up today or have minimal tomorrow. If I had not been working out and taking care of myself, I would’ve taken a trip to the hospital… THIS IS MY WHY!!!!

We’ve had gorgeous weather for almost 2 weeks and I’m hoping it stays through the weekend. Good Friday - annual crawfish /beer (1) out of the property and say “goodbye” (sort-of) … my hubby will eat 10 pounds easy… I don’t like crawfish that much but the ritual is fun! I’ll post a couple of photos soon… Will show y’all a true little “country cottage”!

I’m hoping for a solid 131.x for the end of this round… and a strong start toward 7/31 - my two yr anniversary on JGMTD.

4/15 133.8 some of this uptick is legitimate. Some of it is just not drinking enough water (very dehydrated) and no TMI for a LONG time! My body is discombobulated & my first order of business is to get it back to my optimum “routine“.

We’ve been eating on the go, mostly healthy, but still random prepared /restaurant foods with a gazillion unknown oils/ingredients… and unknown macro/calorie counts… guessing. I’m used to whole foods / single ingredient/ … eating at home. Will go to the grocery store today & plan my single ingredient food/nutrition. If I was truly in the zone, I would be planning ahead each day & eating at home- and we have not!

I wont set unrealistic goals of 🚶‍♀️10k  or🏋️‍♀️ till Thursday/Friday. We are still in “property mode” as I’m on my feet all day and cleaning… pretty sure I’m getting enough of a workout.  😎 My first goal is to fuel my body appropriately with lots of protein & water. It’s good to be back!

Tomorrow we're off to see DB in Conn; it's almost exactly a year since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and he's done amazingly well considering. It's hard to watch his strength diminish, but everything else is still going strong….

4/10 140.6 (trend 139.9) 10.14 miles, ate better, feeding cold was celery & raw carrot sticks, scales in delay mode! This round a pound gain.

4/11 140.6 (trend 140) 5.09 miles walked, stayed on track.4/12 DNW - came away in the caravan for the weekend. 8.16 miles walked, decided I want to be solidly below 140 by end of round.

4/13 DNW 12.1 miles walked, ¾ of a mile of that was 1:8 gradient & ¼ 1:9! When we were going down in the morning I was not relishing the thought of the upward return at the end of the walk! A good work out!

4/14 140 (trend 140.1) 7.42 miles walked before we packed up and headed home.

    4/15 139.6 (trend 140.1) 8.36 miles walked.

4/19. DNW - meet up with both grown up children& their families. DGC spent all day on the outdoor play activities at Belton House, we mostly stood/sitting watching them, but did snatch a 4 mile walk around the formal gardens. Lovely family day.

4/20 DNW -14.38 miles walked from Darker Dale to Chatsworth House, up behind it over the moor & back, very satisfying! No loss this round, need to watch the Easter chocolate! Have a good Easter everyone.

    RND 293 (my RND 1)
    GW 115   F-50 H-5’0”
    HSW - 110 1992
    HWE - 141 1/3/2015

    8/1/2024  138.0
    1/1/2025   129.4
    3/31/2025 128.6 (started Carnivore)

    4/11 - 124.8

4/12 - 124.2 - Started 10 Day challenge-pressed post! No sweetened coffee today! Went to the gym. Celebrated with friends without “cheat” foods! Slept great!

4/13 125.0 I swear I only LOOKED at the birthday cake last night! Didn’t even lick the frosting off my finger after serving! I think I need a new scale. Stepped on 3 times for 3 different numbers-yes I chose the lowest one lol TODAY’S A NEW DAY! Got in a 3 mi walk/run, a 1 mi beach walk, a little shopping, and hung at the pool with friends. Perfect Sunday Funday! Sunburned 🫢but slept great!

    4/14 123.8 🥱 Monday! sleepy afternoon/evening

4/15 124.6 Productive but long work day.  Caved and had sweetener in my coffee. 1 mi walk

    4/16 - 124.6 2.72mi walk/jog/sprint. Slower pace than I would like but I went! 1 mile walk on lunch.

4/17 - 125.0 I just don’t know what to say. I am going to complete this challenge but then I think the scale and I need a break. This relationship is just not working out. It’s not you, Mr. Scale, it’s me. I didn’t overdo yesterday, in fact, my calories were low mainly just very busy & not hungry. I got exercise, electrolytes, macros were on target, under 5 carbs, no cheats, no snacks. I need to remind myself that I didn’t start doing carnivore just for weight loss and not let myself get so hung up on the number but rather focus on how I feel. Regardless of what that number says, I have been sleeping great (mostly), I have been seeing some of my normally high energy come back (mostly), I have been feeling more social again & wanting to be around friends I’ve been ditching in trade for tv/couch for the last 6-8 months, and my clothes seem to fit better. Overall, I am slowly feeling better but then I obsess over 4 ounces or 1lb on the scale and let myself feel discouraged or defeated. Honestly, I guess even if the scale said 112 it’s still not a success if I feel horrible-low energy, no sleep, cranky, etc. In essence, this journey is about overall physical & mental health & wellness, not just a number. Sorry for the long post & thanks for allowing me a space to share!

    4/18-125.0 DNP obviously frustrated

4/19 - 124.4 Didn’t post yesterday or even login to MFP until late last night when I logged for the whole day so I wouldn’t obsess. Intentionally ate more yesterday-3 meals no snacks except coffee. I generally eat just 1 meal per day occasionally 2 and really have not been hungry throughout the day. I am thinking I am not getting enough calories in one meal for the whole day on carnivore. Or at least this is going to be my experiment for the next few days. I went back to see what I was doing when I started carnivore at the beginning of the month when I was dropping weight and noticed my calories were much higher the first week than the second. So here we go! I stuck to the plan but wow did I eat a lot in comparison to the last several days/week. Probably very close to double calories. Felt good, went to dinner/music with friends. Got up this morning fully expecting to be up a pound or even more. Braced myself for impact and down 1/2 lb. It’s a guessing game for sure. Will try to repeat today & see what happens. Getting ready for Muddy Princess this morning!

4/20-124.4 Last day for RND 293-my RND 1. Yesterday was a great day! So much fun! I stuck to the experiment and kept my intake up to about the same level as yesterday-no loss but no gain. I’ll take it! I think I should have started the 30 day challenge by measuring inches vs pounds but didn’t think about it. Finished this round at approximately the same place on the scale as I started but that’s ok. I’m still learning this WOE.

I’ve enjoyed spending the last 10 days getting to know a bit about each of you and hearing your victories and your challenges. Of course, we all wish we  only had victories to share but sharing the challenges remind us we all struggle sometimes but can overcome. We are not alone on this journey. I’ve appreciated having a safe space to share some of the things I normally wouldn’t.

Hope you all have wonderful Easter!

Wins: Starting this challenge and being part of a community rather than being adrift like a lone ship at sea.

Challenges: Doing 30-day carnivore challenge. Not just to lose pounds/inches (although that’s good too!) but also to hopefully reap some of the other claimed benefits: improved: sleep, mental clarity, cognition, energy, joint pain, skin, mood. Reduced: brain fog, fatigue, cravings, inflammation, bloating.

Goals: This week’s goal is to cut down on sweet-n-low in my coffee. It’s my biggest weakness for carnivore and only “cheat” I struggle to shake. Trying to learn to love unsweetened coffee! 🫣 (and as a first timer, actually hitting “post reply” for this post)

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 293
    April 11 – 20, 2025

    SW: 132.0

4/11- 130.2 Big surprise that was not such a big surprise given my visits to the bathroom yesterday and this morning. Don’t know what made a difference from one day to the next. Calories were good yesterday. Did 3 lap (5 mile) walk. Today, I am going to walk, but I am also heading to the gym. Facing out to eat AGAIN, tonight, but this morning’s number gives me hope that I will end this round with some sort of 130 number. I have pre-tracked my day, so I do have a plan.

    Looking at my 2023 history, on Jan 1, 2023, I was 146.6, March 2 138.0, and April 11, I was 131.4. By May 1, 2023, I was 128.2.

Looking at my 2925 History, on Dec 31, 2024, I was 138.2 March 1 135.2, and April 11 (today) 130.2 (but 132 yesterday). Pattern is slower this time, but does show me I can make it into the upper 120’s before looking at MOG dresses in May, and if my summer is good, I should be comfortable at the September wedding.

4/12- 130.2 yesterday kept evolving but I adjusted my plans as I went along. I did walk 3 laps, also went to the gym and did elliptical, then and hour workout. The guys were successfully fishing which meant my plans at the restaurant changed, so I re-tracked that. Anyhow, I made it through the day!

Today, we have been invited to friends for dinner. I have no idea what they are serving. This will actually be harder than yesterday.

4/13- 130.6 I handled yesterday as well as possible and moderately exceeded preferred calories. My win for the day was that I did not binge once I got back to the condo after the dinner at friends. I considered it a number of times, but did not. Glad I controlled it, but it is crazy that I even needed to fight this urge.

4/14- 132.0 Yup, expected that. Heading out for my walk in 30. Will pre-track and today will be a normal day. Curious how many days will take to undo yesterday.

4/15- 132.4 Did not feel right all day. Even resorted to a nap in the early afternoon. We had dinner plans with friends for pizza, and was ready two slices. We all get to the restaurant and there is a sign “closed for spring maintenance. Now we end up at a Thai restaurant. Calories were not good. Salt was not good. Today though, is straight forward – all food being pre-tracked and have 7th session with the trainer.

4/16 – 132.0 Yesterday was good. Spot on for calories. Did the elliptical, stretching, then hour with the trainer. Was hoping to bounce back more quickly, but no such luck. Today’s challenge is another poolside cocktail party for the building and it is my turn to be the host of it.

4/17- DNW Man it is just so complicated lately. Could not face the scale.

4/18- 132.0 Have no idea how this compares to yesterday as I DNW. Yesterday was good. Today, I will get double exercise, but going out to dinner tonight.

4/19- 131.0 I did 5 mile walk, elliptical warm up and hour in the gym. Preplanned my food and stuck with it. Today’s challenge (yes, another) is a taco fundraiser for a group that help feral cats. Going to do my best. Am pre-tracking my tacos now, and did a 6.5 mile walk this morning.

4/20- 130.4 (130.6 travel) I did manage to get back to a 130.X number. Yay! Yesterday, I handled the fundraiser well, and did that long walk. It helped knowing that this morning was the last day of the round. I am now starting to do check-in’s on my travel scale so I have a baseline. Round 294 will start in Florida, then northward travel days, and end in MA.

Happy Easter! Yes, another eating challenge day. But will be at the gym at 9 am when it opens this morning.

End of Round 293 count down: 147 days until the wedding, 10 days until dress shopping

Simple Goal for this round: Practice what you preach.

    Round 293 Posts
    This is my posting format….

Month/Day: Scale Reading - First thing today after bathroom visit before getting dressed. (Calories-In yesterday)/ Comment

    4/10/25 : 227.8 SW a day before.

    4/11: 227.6 (1823 CI)
A weekend is upon us and fortunately there are no planned social/eating opportunities stacked up. My nerd sheet tells me I am trending to 228.6, thanks to my shady past. I am out to prove him wrong.

Found out yesterday my DSIL biopsy shows she has breast cancer. We are all hoping and praying they caught it soon enough that she will recover well with treatment. She has no pain or symptoms or lumps, but found it with a mammogram. Her husband has been treating lung cancer for two years. When it rains it pours, but our family has faith to lean on.

    4/12: 227.8 (1703 CI)

    4/13: 227.2 (1528 CI)
I got distracted yesterday and did not post. Grandbaby duty (privilege) in morning, then lunch at the cookout my son’s employer (meat shop) does every Saturday, then quick walk with DW, then Masters Golf on the tube. By that time I was spaced…

I did log yesterday after the fact and though I ate less than normal, the CI seems pretty low. I must be forgetting something.

    4/14: 227.4 (1722 CI)
Got up too early this morning. Sleep is one of my “issues.” I couldn’t sleep-in if my life depended on it. I am usually up two hours ahead of DW. Here are the facts about last week:
    • 5h 56m sleep per day average
    o Deep Sleep 1h 2m
    o Light Sleep 3h 31m
    o REM Sleep 1h 22m
    o Awake 48m
o The four categories above are scattered and mixed throughout the night.
    • 77 sleep average score. Whatever that means. Fitbit says its “fair.”
    • Average sleep schedule 10:30pm – 5:15am (I am usually in bed before 10:30pm)

My average heart rate last night was 52 BPM (am I even alive?)

I have to question how important it is to even know all of this stuff.
    I. Must. Resist. Putting. This. On. A. spreadsheet!

I am accepting suggestions on what works for you to improve sleep without taking a “sleep aid” pill. BTW my alcohol intake most days is zero. Two cups of coffee down the hatch before 9am or so.

    4/15: 227.4 (1595)
Woke up for the first of many times at 12:30 am.

    4/16: 226.8 (1940 CI)
I did great yesterday… then had a snack of saltine crackers and peanut butter while DW and I played Gin Rummy. She leads the 2025 series nine games to eight. I am very encouraged because it is usually very lopsided in her favor. We play very simple scoring rules and don’t keep track of quantity of hands taken and other ways to accumulate points. It is already competitive enough. 😊

    Spinning class this morning.

Did we all survive Tax Day?

    4/17: 227.4 (1869 CI)
Good exercise yesterday. Good food except for pretzel stick nosh while watching the Chicago Bulls draw their final breath. My scale flickers in the 225 to 226 range before settling in, so I will wait.

    4/18: 227.4 (?)
I didn’t log yesterday. Silly. I ate a ton of carbs yesterday, but the damage has not shown up yet. Must do better today. At least my trend is lower than my current weight.

I am leaning into the significance of “Good Friday” and the promise of Easter today. I am grateful.

    4/19: 229.4 (oink)
Now the carb damage is revealing itself for all to see.

    4/20: 228.2 (#)
Though the end of this round was a bit of a fail, overall it was good. I actually gained a bit, but my ten-day average was almost a pound lower. I will take it.

Celebrating Easter with a worship service then a feast today. Arguably the most important celebration on the Christian calendar.

    See you all next round.

    Goal: Becoming myself again 🚢

Ok this challenge wasn’t perfect. But I learned a lot about myself. And I feel stronger.

Really the two biggest challenges for me are eating my emotions, and slipping with a few more carbs than what I need for weight loss. I do best on 1250-1400 calories, protein at least 100g, carbs less than protein. Minimum 45 minutes of movement per day.

I am motivated to really make some change in the next one. Happy Easter everyone

Stuck to the list and got it all done, thank goodness. One son is sick and I don’t blame him for not wanting to drive the 4 hours to get here to just spend one night. Others on will arrive here mid morning after a trip up north to see friends, before he heads 3 hours south back home me. I told my sister that if he canceled , I would be bringing half the salads, one of the hams and a batch of rolls to her house and letting DH entertain his family for the day. Any way, I hope everyone has a splendid day.

    Comments pertain to previous day

    SW RND 293  134.5  AW  133.2

4/11  134.0  1 good day in a row. That’s how it starts. Taking friends for BBQ this afternoon.  I will get 1# of brisket. It freezes well.

4/12  133.5 Another good day. Our female friend liked the barbecue, her husband said it was “okay.” It has been rated as one of the best BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas. I should mention that he is a very large man and every eating establishment is compared to Golden Corral!

4/13   133.5  Going to our daughter’s to work on our group quilt project.

4/14   132.5  Yesterday’s get together was cancelled because DSIL took a tumble and did something to his knee.

4/15   133.0  Going to Chipotle with neighbor.

4/16   133.0  Tonight is community bingo. Ate the remaining Chipotle “salad” for brunch today. “Salad” was what appeared to be (now soggy) baby spinach which I picked out and one piece of iceberg lettuce so mostly cheese and guac, & a small amount of beef.

4/17  134.0  Dinner was meat lovers pizza. I ate part of one slice because it had cooled and the toppings wouldn’t peel off, the toppings off the other slice, some “salad” with a little balsamic vinegar, 4 potato chips and 1 bite of DH’s ice cream sandwich. My ice cream sandwich is in the freezer for DH. I’m okay with the increase, it should disappear quickly.

4/18   133.5  Well, last night wasn’t a good night. DH got po’d about change of plans with arriving granddaughter. I made myself a low (or no) carb whiskey 🥃 sour but it is still alcohol!

4/19   133.0  Had Great Greek for lunch yesterday. Picked up granddaughter at the airport. Family breakfast out today.

4/20   132.0  We ate at the Omelet House yesterday. I have enough leftover omelet to last at least 2 more mornings. Gave my potatoes to 22 year old grandson and only took 1 bite of toast.

    ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND 196.4

04/18-197.0- (Trend Weight: 196.7) 04/19-197.0- (Trend Weight: 196.8) I find if I prelog for the day it is much more effective and my day goes smoothly.

🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰 04/20-195.8 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 196.7) I managed to lose the exact 0.6 that I gained last round. At this point, breaking even is sub par and just not good enough. I need to really start making a dent in it. Easter is a big food day but I will try to know my limits and stick to some healthier choices. Oh, that’s so much easier to say when you are not hungry yet! Have a blessed day ya’ll and I’ll see you all tomorrow.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 293
    April 21 – 30, 2025

    SW: 130.4 (travel scale 130.6)

4/21 – 130.6 (travel 130.8) I got through Easter well enough. I did go to the gym, but cut my workout short. Middle of the day, I got into some leftover tortilla chips from last Wednesday, but eventually got smart and poured them loose into the trash. The Easter meal itself was quite healthy. Fridge is clearing out. Today, after I walk needs to be a big packing day. We start our northward journey noon on the 24th. Would love to finish round 294 with a 129.X.

Thanks @AR10at50 Funny. It hit me a couple moments ago that I had already posted for the day, but not joined the round 294 group. Brain is obviously not working. Thank you for your help!!!
