@chicbuc I was just replying to you when your post came through. Thank you always for your support.

Yes, we do have to keep trying. You've been doing pretty well this month. I'm sure you read @globalhiker's last post. It was very inspirational to me.

It sounds like you had a pretty uneventful day yesterday also. But your day sounded like a lot of fun.

I called my good friend in CA yesterday (we've known each other since high school). She's the one that only drank occasionally. Well, I guess she's drinking more now. She was drinking yesterday. I was quite disappointed. She was always pretty smart and could offer good advice. I tried to explain that I was trying to quit drinking and the problems it was causing…not being able to do my normal everyday activities, etc. And, she actually said, "You don't need to quit drinking. You just need to start walking more". I told her that I could barely walk to the mailbox. She obviously didn't understand what drinking excessively can do. And, she is the one who's husband had that disorder last July. It starts with a W and many call it wet brain. She was thinking of coming up to visit this summer. But, I really don't want her to. I will probably have to make up some sort of excuse. If I am successful with quitting, I think it's best to stay away from others that drink, at least for the first few months.

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

Oh it didn't let me. Well send me a message please. I hope you are OK.

@SunnyDays930 Yes, she may have already deleted her account. Her profile is private, so there's no way for me to know. Since she was on your friend's list, if she's no longer on there, she must have deleted her account. I hope everything is OK! I hate to see her leave…she will be missed!

Oh, wow. That's nuts and I will miss her dearly. I hope all is well with her. This thread will probably go by the wayside without her 😭

@globalhiker I did set up a May thread. I wasn't sure if I knew what I was doing. But, I think it seems to work OK. I hope it is OK with you and everyone else. This is the link (I don't know how to turn it into a hyperlink):

@itladyee I did start a new May thread. I believe it is fine. You can find it here:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10937352/less-alcohol-may-2025-one-day-at-a-time/p1?new=1

I actually thought that I may just continue the monthly threads. I'm quite computer literate myself. But, if it's important to you…you can do it. I did change the order of some of the intro as was suggested by some of the other members. Anyways, no big deal to me!

I agree it's weird that @MissMay would just disappear like that. It seems that she would have announced in advance…maybe it was just too much work at the time. And, it seems she would have worked with someone to takeover. I hope everything is alright.

I have experienced things like that before myself. Sometimes out of stress. Sometimes because I tend to get my feelings hurt fairly easily. But, in my experience, I always come back. So, maybe, we just have to give her some time.

Check out my May thread. I think it's good. But, what's most important, is what the other members want. That's why @MissMay had asked for suggestions.

Take care and Have a great rest of your day everyone!

@globalhiker My first thought was "Miss May was hacked". I really thought that at first. Her post didn't sound like her. But if something is wrong in her life, I can see why she quickly posted. I'm puzzled and will miss her greatly.

I think people want to make sure the thread continues. Since you've started May, I think we are good.

    Here's the link for everyone

Thanks @itladyee! So, I guess you think I did OK? I'll continue for now. @globalhiker posted asking if anyone had any MFP technical skills to keep the threads going. So, I figured I'd do it. The main thing is to keep the threads going. And, I do think it's important for everyone to put their two cents in…things that are important to them, etc. This is a group effort.

Anyways, if I get tired of it, I'll pass on the baton 🙂 Plus @MissMay may just be taking a break. So, I think we can fill in!

    Have a nice evening everyone!

Well, that was weird! I didn’t expect to see MissMay drop off like that. And, I agree, the way she did it just didn’t seem like her. 😕

I’ll join your May post @SurferGirl1982.

    Tired tonight? Heading to bed.

@NonnieDoiron I haven't been in this group as long as most of you have. So, I didn't know MissMay as well as most of you. But, she seemed like a fixture in this group. I sure hope everything is OK!

BTW…your kicking some behind this month! I'm not going to post my numbers 😕 But, the month isn't over yet. I think I only had two AF days last month. So, I could still come out ahead this month.

    Get some sleep!

I’m so sad to see that @MissMay is bowing out. I hope all is ok with her!

Thanks @SurferGirl1982 for doing the May thread, and @itlaydee for also volunteering. I have zero technical skills so I appreciate you both wanting to I f to do the work to keep it going!

Fun Easter weekend, but I didn’t achieve my LA goals. Reset tomorrow.

@SurferGirl1982 scary about the nosebleed! I had no idea that clotting cells come from your liver! Glad you’re doing ok!

@Womona I know it is so weird to see @MissMay bowing out and not posting. I too hope she is OK. I only joined this group last July and she was always here. I'm in no way trying to replace her. In fact, I have a feeling she will be back. But, everyone seemed so concerned about the threads not continuing. And, I do have some computer skills, so I thought I'd keep them going in her absence.

I'm still not doing great AF wise. But, I do feel a streak coming.

Yes, it is weird about the liver producing blood clotting proteins. There may be many. But, one is called Prothrombin. And, anyone that has had surgery, has probably had their PT time tested (blood test) without even knowing. Surgeons tend to be picky about cutting into someone whose blood won't clot -LOL.

But, alcohol also thins your blood. I've been fine since that night. I probably did over-react. But, it was late at night, my husband was asleep and since I had been drinking I really didn't want to go to the hospital anyways.

That reminds me of a conversation we were all having a few months ago. It was about if you are drinking and there's an emergency. You may not be able to drive a family member, neighbor, or even your pet to get care. When we were in our 20's, no one was going to have to go to the hospital, unless we were doing something stupid! Well, I guess we usually were 🤔
