Aren't there a lot of songs that people think of as original which are in fact covers of an original recorded years even decades before?
Wouldn't probably everyone agree that this cover is better than the original:
"Black Magic Woman" by Santana (a cover of the original by [Peter Green's] Fleetwood Mac)?

And don't I agree that if we all agree to disagree, then we might end up disagreeing with everyone but ourself, and thus might be agreeing only with ourself, but isn't that still better than disagreeing even with ourself?
