Hi everyone. Iβm almost about to throw in the towel. Iβve made things so much worse by excessive over eating. Iβve now gained 5kg - 11lb and feel like crying. Honestly some of it is medical but Iβve been eating like a pig frequently. I really think going off ozempic has been bad. So Iβm starting this month off hoping to turn it around before I end up even fatter than ever.

Thank you, Jill, for keeping this thread going! It's soooooo helpful. I've tried other challenges on MFP and honestly this is my favorite oneβ and the only one I actually stick with for months! Any others I've tried, I flake out after just a week or two.
I'm glad it's May! April had a lot of nice things in my personal life, for example celebrations and good food, but my weight loss efforts were pretty much derailed, as they always are that time of year. This month I should be able to focus more on my physical health efforts.
As always, my intro for myself is that I'm a busy mom of five, 5'2", working slowly towards my goal weight. I just have about four pounds to go, and when I get there, I will be continuing to log and weigh in until my newer good habits are really set.

I did not have planned exercise but I had LOTS of extra movement with some overdue house projects I worked on (lots of stairs!). Crazy that Iβm still at about a 4 lb gain thatβs (IMHO) completely without merit. Okay, enough feeling sorry for myself! Staying the course here and trusting the process. May 2: 126.6 I was soooo crazy hungry yesterday. Logging fell by the wayside. I'm not yet used to the calorie deficit I had a month ago. Increasing my calories by 300 again; I really need to stick with that a little while before notching it down again.

After 2 days of high weights that I didnβt understand, today is finally a nice drop. But of all the crazy things, yesterday was actually a bad day! I did not pre-log, I ate grab-n-go foods throwing all caution to the wind. High calorie, high carb GARBAGE. Snacks were approved but I overate them. Today should have been the merited gain but the scale dropped 1.6 from the perfect days prior. Will yesterdayβs mistakes show up in a day or two? Maybe, but Iβll fight it tooth & nail, kicking and screaming all the way. Sometimes the scale will give me one dayβs grace so Iβll hope for that. I need better planning today for sure!

Iβve increased my calories - according to MFP I should lose 0.8kg a week eating 1510 calories a day. Honestly does that seem right? I was finding 1350 calories too restrictive and clearly not sticking to it so increasing seemed logical.
That sounds right to meβ¦. And 0.8 kg per week is a really great weight of loss.
When my calories are set too low, I kind of lose my mindβ maybe I get hangryβ and I start eating crazy, to the point of way over-eating. I like to find the number where I'm able to log everything and I feel satisfied enough to stick with it. Sounds to me like you're on the right track.

Iβm trying to figure out whether I want to take a rest/relax day at home and maybe get some more storm burning done or go on a short (1 hr each way) trip out-of-town for a little shopping. I need a few things for my project and would like to see whatβs available at a brick and mortar store before going online to shop. Some things you just need to touch/feel before you buy. Weβll see how the day pans out.

May 4: Not a great day for food/exercise. Attended a book release party for a family member at an Italian eatery and then had to drive my daughter back to college, so diet was not good. Just a little over one week and she will be back home!! Iβve planned a trip to the Florida keys for my daughter, my mom and myself for the end of this month, so I need to get back on track before then or I will really fall off the wagon!!

Kept to my calorie goals yesterday. And my weight has been coming down a bit too. I really didnt do well the whole month of April- I tracked maybe half the days in the month? But I'm hoping to improve in May!

πͺπͺπͺ πͺ 05/05-DNW π - (Trend Weight: DNW) Decided to go out of town with my son to go do a little grocery shopping at Meijer and Aldiβs. I was disappointed that Aldiβs did not have the Keto bread I usually buy. They opened up a Chinese Buffet in that town so I ate lunch there. Obviously there is lots of sodium swelling today. This is the only Chinese food within 100 miles of my home so it was quite the treat. I did make sure to bring home lots of groceries that support my plan. I also was able to stop by and see my two youngest grandchildren who were nearby. What a treat!

Iβm back for another month! Love the MAY Mantra and hope to adopt it as well. My goal is to work towards overall improved health by eating healthier and increasing activity.
Iβm starting a bit late this month due to traveling for work. Just returned home and found myself up 5 poundsβ¦yikes! Time to get back to better habits!

πͺπͺπͺ πͺ 05/06-DNW π - (Trend Weight: DNW) Contractor showed up bright and early waking me out of bed. I didnβt know he was coming since heβs missed the past week. I didnβt get to weigh but I still am feeling pretty bloated from the Chinese food the other day. I also brought home 2 quarts of Egg Drop Soup from the restaurant that day which Iβve been using for lunch (4 servings of 1.5 cups each). That is probably still containing too much sodium although the calories and carbs are very low. Thatβs why I usually bring some home. I may weigh tomorrow. It depends on how tight my rings are.

May 6: logged foods, just under calories goal by 29 and slightly under protein by 9g. Walked 1.5 miles for total step count of 5,969. I need to make more time for activity! Iβve been doing all the little tricks of parking farther away, taking the stairs, getting up during the day to moveβ¦ but itβs just not enough. Now that nicer weather is upon us, Iβm going to try getting up earlier to walk before work. I just need the strength to talk myself out of bed. I might have to ask the hubby to push me out! ππ
