    I’m joining your May motto!

    Stronger will… better habits… exercise regularly… and I’m adding one more… grab a water instead of a snack.Β 

    It’s a new fresh month and it’s time to get healthier and feel better. 😘 

    May 1st- 224.8 lbs/ 101.96kg

    May 6th- 223.2lbs/ 101.2 My daughter has moved home from college for the summer, and my son is moving into his first post-college apartment on Saturday. My house is a crazy mess right now. 🫠

    May 7th- 223.4 Headed back to work today with a salad, soup, and carrots. Hopefully this is enough to satisfy the snack monster… mini meals. Dinner will be a chicken Caesar salad and dessert is sugar free orange jello. Have a wonderful Wednesday! 3 meals logged.

    Hi All!

    Thank you, Jill, for keeping this thread going! It's soooooo helpful. I've tried other challenges on MFP and honestly this is my favorite oneβ€” and the only one I actually stick with for months! Any others I've tried, I flake out after just a week or two.

    I'm glad it's May! April had a lot of nice things in my personal life, for example celebrations and good food, but my weight loss efforts were pretty much derailed, as they always are that time of year. This month I should be able to focus more on my physical health efforts.

    As always, my intro for myself is that I'm a busy mom of five, 5'2", working slowly towards my goal weight. I just have about four pounds to go, and when I get there, I will be continuing to log and weigh in until my newer good habits are really set.

    May 1: 125.2

    May 2: 126.6 🌺 I logged! 69 calories under goal πŸŽ‰. I was soooo crazy hungry yesterday. Logging fell by the wayside. I'm not yet used to the calorie deficit I had a month ago. Increasing my calories by 300 again; I really need to stick with that a little while before notching it down again.

    May 3: 126.0

    May 4: 125.6

    May 5: 129.8 Whoa! Bad result this morning.

    May 6: 127.0 🌺 I logged! 47 calories over goal. My blood sugar has felt really wonky, especially after getting off-schedule on May 4; Time to work on eating less sweets and more protein.

I didn’t get to weigh but I still am feeling pretty bloated from the Chinese food the other day. I also brought home 2 quarts of Egg Drop Soup from the restaurant that day which I’ve been using for lunch (4 servings of 1.5 cups each). That is probably still containing too much sodium although the calories and carbs are very low. That’s why I usually bring some home. I may weigh tomorrow. It depends on how tight my rings are.

    I'm glad it's May! April had a lot of nice things in my personal life, for example celebrations and good food, but my weight loss efforts were pretty much derailed, as they always are that time of year. This month I should be able to focus more on my physical health efforts.

    As always, my intro for myself is that I'm a busy mom of five, 5'2", working slowly towards my goal weight. I just have about four pounds to go, and when I get there, I will be continuing to log and weigh in until my newer good habits are really set.

    May 2: 126.6 🌺 I logged! 69 calories under goal πŸŽ‰. I was soooo crazy hungry yesterday. Logging fell by the wayside. I'm not yet used to the calorie deficit I had a month ago. Increasing my calories by 300 again; I really need to stick with that a little while before notching it down again.

    May 5: 129.8 Whoa! Bad result this morning.

    So, I really like Dr. Now on "My 600 Pound Life." Have any of you seen that show?

    My hubby said to me yesterday: "I'm going to lose 40 pounds before our trip to the beach."

    He's 50 pounds overweight, not 500 pounds, and we go on that trip in ONE month, so…. I'm pretty sure he was joking. 🀣

I had penne pasta in alfredo sauce with steak tips on top and gorgonzola cheese with a balsamic glaze dribbled on top and garnished with cherry tomatoes. It came with garlic bread. It was delicious but so very salty due to the gorgonzola cheese. I thought it was very sweet of him. Not weighing today. My belly is hanging over my jeans. I’ll have DGS and daughter until Friday night (at least). Meeting the bus today and I can’t wait to see him!

    hi all. It’s been a hectic few days - worked 3x 8 hr shifts in a row. Aged care is crazy hard work. πŸ˜“ I’ve done so many steps. Been crazy hungry too. My weight is going up again and my urine retention is getting worse- luckily next week I’m getting a scan so hopefully they will be able to fix it. I’m worried they may need a surgical intervention considering the extent of the bloating despite my catheter.

    Hi all!!Β 

    I’m back for another month! Love the MAY Mantra and hope to adopt it as well. My goal is to work towards overall improved health by eating healthier and increasing activity.

    I’m starting a bit late this month due to traveling for work. Just returned home and found myself up 5 pounds…yikes! Time to get back to better habits!

    May 7: logged food and calories and protein were on point. Did not get in a walk, but I’m inching closer to my pre-travel weight. Will be a long day today between working and taking my mom in for a procedure.

    @ozdeelite congrats on the job! It is hard work, but think of it as a workout. Every step is one more step in getting healthy…and you’re getting lots of steps! 😊 I hope you start to get some answers and feel better.

    @Tbris4 I hope your mother's procedure goes well. Hard to manage food while travelling, and always good to come home and get back on track!

    Well Wed was my weigh in day of the week and it was down from the week before- yay. But I kind of fell off the tracking wagon Wed/Thurs. Eating takeout, and I had to go downtown both days- which I end up not tracking on those days.

    So last week I tracked 4/7 days so I want to do better this week. Only I have to go to a conference Mon/Tues and there will be food there so I'll have to guess. The conference is super boring lol, so I always end up nibbling out of boredom.

    Calories yesterday-

    Goal- didn't track :(

    May 3- 160.2

    May 7- 159.6

    Week 1 tracked 4/7 days.

    May goals:

    ** Weigh in weekly on Wednesdays.
    **Track calories every day.

    **Stick to my calorie goals (1600, plus 100 on days I go in to the office- more movement/longer day).
    **If I go over, try not to go over by more than 300. So that I don't just give up and splurge higher and higher.

    πŸŽͺπŸŽͺπŸŽͺ πŸŽͺ 05/09-194.0 πŸ’  - (Trend Weight: 195.3) I usually don’t weigh on Fridays because it’s either way earlier than usual or way later due to a medication schedule (and DGS bus/sleeping schedule) but decided to go ahead anyway today. Normally I don’t see it as a direct comparison to the day before but I didn’t weigh yesterday so I think its okay. Weight level with my last weigh in, which is a relief because I know it was up from lots of sodium and bloat inducing foods. Trend weight shows me I was right. Back to square one here. Big plans for my birthday tomorrow but that’s a bridge I’ll cross during the weigh-in days in the days following. I’m enjoying all your posts!

    omg I’m now 108kg. I’ve gone from 103kg up to this in a matter of weeks. My urine is now thick jelly so I should probably go to hospital but I’m so darn exhausted. I have 2 days off and need to rest.

    Hi All!

    Thank you, Jill, for keeping this thread going! It's soooooo helpful. I've tried other challenges on MFP and honestly this is my favorite oneβ€” and the only one I actually stick with for months! Any others I've tried, I flake out after just a week or two.

    I'm glad it's May! April had a lot of nice things in my personal life, for example celebrations and good food, but my weight loss efforts were pretty much derailed, as they always are that time of year. This month I should be able to focus more on my physical health efforts.

    As always, my intro for myself is that I'm a busy mom of five, 5'2", working slowly towards my goal weight. I just have about four pounds to go, and when I get there, I will be continuing to log and weigh in until my newer good habits are really set.

    May 1: 125.2

    May 2: 126.6 🌺 I logged! 69 calories under goal πŸŽ‰. I was soooo crazy hungry yesterday. Logging fell by the wayside. I'm not yet used to the calorie deficit I had a month ago. Increasing my calories by 300 again; I really need to stick with that a little while before notching it down again.

    May 3: 126.0

    May 4: 125.6

    May 5: 129.8 Whoa! Bad result this morning.

    May 6: 127.0 🌺 I logged! 47 calories over goal. My blood sugar has felt really wonky, especially after getting off-schedule on May 4; Time to work on eating less sweets and more protein.

    May 7: 127.2

    May 8: 126.6

    May 9: 126.6 🌺 I logged! 150 calories under goal πŸŽ‰! I think I'm gradually getting used to eating less again. Yesterday was a challenge and I didn't finish logging; today's result on the scale could have been worse, so I'll be happy.

Normally I don’t see it as a direct comparison to the day before but I didn’t weigh yesterday so I think its okay. Weight level with my last weigh in, which is a relief because I know it was up from lots of sodium and bloat inducing foods. Trend weight shows me I was right. Back to square one here. Big plans for my birthday tomorrow but that’s a bridge I’ll cross during the weigh-in days in the days following. I’m enjoying all your posts!

I am calling this birthday my red white and blue birthday as this is the one that the US Gov’t sends us the r w & b Medicare card for our medical insurance. Boy, does that ever make a gal feel old!!!! I wanted to originally lose 10 lbs by my birthday but then got caught up in the furnace going out for 17 days in late winter and the ice storm which forced me to leave home. All excuses aside, I obviously did not make it, but my wish started at the weight of 195.8 so at 193.6 I am down 2.2 which is better than being up I suppose. I enjoyed a very fancy place for a luncheon today with my children and a couple of the grandchildren to celebrate my occasion. Delicious!

    I’m starting a bit late this month due to traveling for work. Just returned home and found myself up 5 pounds…yikes! Time to get back to better habits!

    I'm not doing so well either. Just over calories the last couple days, and also not tracking. Partly bc it's the weekend- sometimes Ihave 2 drinks, and some edibles (legal here) and then I end up eating too much. Oddly, in spite of the stereotypes about munchies, it's the alcohol that lowers my resistance to eating crap.

    I need to have a better plan for the weekends where I indulge like that.

    Anyway:

    Goal- 1600 Actual 1530.

    May Weighins

    May 3- 160.2
    May 6 - 159
    May 7- 159.6

    May 12- 161.8 YIKES. That is the cost of the weekend.

    MAy goals:

    ** Weigh in weekly on Wednesdays.
    **Track calories every day.
    **Stick to my calorie goals (1600, plus 100 on days I go in to the office- more movement/longer day).
    **If I go over, try not to go over by more than 300. So that I don't just give up and splurge higher and higher.

However, with daughter and DGS here I probably didn’t get as much movement in. Also, all the weekend celebrations may still be catching up so I’ll take it!     May 11: allowed myself a cheat day given it was Mother’s Day! My daughter surprised me and came home for the weekend. Overall beautiful day with family.

    @ozdeelite i hope the scan goes well and you start to get some answers.

    @its_cleo i too enjoy a cocktail while I’m out for dinner with friends, which usually throws me up a pound or 3 in the weekend.z. I’m trying to experiment with less calorie/sugar content ones. So far vodka seltzer with lime seems to be the best opt.

    Thanks everyone. My eating has been awful for past 4 days - lots of chocolate and fast food. It’s stress related mostly. I hate working in aged care - it’s really awful. The residents just aren’t being cared for properly and it’s severely understaffed. My whole body is severely excoriated from all this movement and the moisture from doing showers all morning not to mention the pain my body is in.

    Hi all!!Β 

    I’m back for another month! Love the MAY Mantra and hope to adopt it as well. My goal is to work towards overall improved health by eating healthier and increasing activity.

    I’m starting a bit late this month due to traveling for work. Just returned home and found myself up 5 pounds…yikes! Time to get back to better habits!

    MAy goals:

    ** Weigh in weekly on Wednesdays.
    **Track calories every day.
    **Stick to my calorie goals (1600, plus 100 on days I go in to the office- more movement/longer day).
    **If I go over, try not to go over by more than 300. So that I don't just give up and splurge higher and higher.
