My word for 2025 is "enough". I don't need to get more or do more, I just need to appreciate what I have.

Heather - I was back to that for a day or two after the colonoscopy - I chalked it up to the lingering effects of the dehydration and how much my biome was wrecked by that prep. When things started getting regular again, that sort of drunken leaning to the right (without alcohol) slowly faded. Getting the probiotics in and getting hydrated well helped it fade for me.

😀🎧️ Michele, I use my headphones for the TV and for the phone. Suggest to Vince that he search blue tooth headphones on Amazon and read about different headphones and get his questions answered.

😀 Kay, I had the same feeling about consignment shops as you did. It was too stressful for me to have someone look over what I brought and pass judgement over them. I have the same feeling about having a garage sale. Now I just donate everything to a charity shop and figure that my stuff will go to someone who wants it and the profit will go to a good cause. About Amazon. I now have Acorn, Brit Box, and PBS Masterpiece and I love them all. When we gave up broadcast TV, I had no idea how much I'd enjoy the other choices and how much cheaper it would be even with the extra channels.

😀 Elaine, welcome to the thread and welcome (soon) to retirement. I love both of them. You have an admirable plan and it's given you great results. Keep on keeping on. I have been involved in this thread for years and I read it every morning while I eat breakfast to focus my day in the right direction.

😀 I slept late today (almost til 5:30) so I'm rested and ready for a sunny day that will include the usual walking early, grocery pick up at 8:30, meetings with friends—two on phone, one on Zoom, and one for a walk. Sun and warm are predicted so I'll be back to washing the fence and pulling weeds.

😀 Welcome, Bubberry. Where do you live

😀 Machka, Happy winter to you.

Barbie - thank you. I always look forward to the new beginning we get each month here.😍 Overcast here right now, hope I get some sun to finish transplanting tomatoes and maybe mow as well.

Michele - the hot tub sounds great. I'll be over, lol.

Heather - I sometimes get the woozy walking too - and I think Lisa is on to something - a bit of dehydration and allergies. I used to panic (this balance thing started my mom's inactivity and eventual path to dementia) but now I just say "this too shall pass" and it does. Hope yours gets better quickly.

    House cleaning stuff:

My house cleaner Collette called yesterday - because of her injured back, she won't be coming here this Tuesday. She's supposed to be off work from 4 to 6 weeks depending on which doctor she listens too. 😥 All of the vacuuming over the years has taken its toll. No worries though. I dug out my old "Quickie" mop - I don't think they make them anymore, but it's in good shape I think. And it's time for me to pick up a stick vacuum anyhow. Mrs. Roger has a Shark Rocket Stick that she loves and I'll walk over and check it out today.

I used to enjoy housework, but my DH would gripe that I made too much noise and it interrupted his TV watching. I tried to get housework scheduled around when he was out of the house, and hurrying around. He'd work odd hours sometimes and when he retired, he was always here! 😤 And I was working so there were no options. I got tired and angry trying to accommodate his schedule so that's when I decided to hire a housecleaner and he could go take a nap in the shop recliner.

Now, I can clean house whenever I want - I kept Collette on after he died because I like her so much and she does such a great job, but if she's forced to retire, I'll pick it back up as best I can. I already do the bathrooms on the weeks she's not here and sometimes "foot mop" when necessary, lol.

I found a BMR calculator online that shows the base minimum calories required to keep us alive if we don't move at all. It also has an estimate of how many calories we burn if we are active. I know MFP can make this calculation, but I think this is a quicker and easier version since I don't factor in exercise calories in my daily food diary.

    BMR Calculator

Reminder - tomorrow is weekly check-in for those participating.

Thanks Barbie, like a clock ticking in a thunderstorm you model calm consistency for us all. <3

So Machka, are you prescient? Tripped on a root on the pack walk yesterday and landed on my knees, forearms and forehead. Nothing broken, thank goodness, just bruises and scrapes. Whew!

Heather, how does English asparagus differ from all other asparagus?

Beth sure hope you can return that mattress for two twins, one identical for your dh and one better for you. Is it a firmness issue?

Pip Yogi is in his element, his happy place. ((hugs))

Kay con VERY grats for taking off those pounds, sorry about the favorite sweater, price of success.

Welcome @glypnirsgirl Elaine in Ft Worth! Con VERY gratulations on your progress so far. Logging every bite lick or sip is key and a food scale is a real eye-opener.

Welcome @BubBerry moving more is key, but logging and weighing food are the real reality checks. You can do this!

Lisa please give yourself some grace for the scope throwing off your exercise plan. Imho the healed ulcers are well worth the brief break…

Just a quick check in before church, May summary later.

    Later, lighter, lovelies!

June focus: Just one thing from the OMG room. Really.
2025: Chose NOW: to move more than yesterday (5 sit to stands every potty break no excuses), fuel better than yesterday (hold that after dinner sweet down to two pieces of dark chocolate max), open heart and mind before mouth
