5/31 133.0 83 days until DGS’s wedding. Of course I am now wishing I had bought the dress that wasn’t my favorite because that was the one DH “LOVED” My initial comment was “I don’t love this one.” I may have to go back and see if it’s still there. I absolutely HATE buying clothes!
6/1 133.0 I went back and bought the dress.

Another Opportunity to Stay True to Oneself MFP Friends 🤩
I've been fairly awful lately for many reasons. Of course I know better, blah blah & yak yak etc...
We always do. Last round closed 2.6 lbs up and 20lbs overweight.
Nearly everyone can recite what's healthy. Performance is more complex.
I'm anticipating a 😈Hellish😈 two weeks. To make it through, my goals are simple:
* Show Up - 10 of 10 posts
* Weigh daily
* Post body composition twice
Rnd 298 SW 159.6 lbs
5/31 - 156.6lbs
My day was so lazy that laziness itself would ask what's your problem if this were possible. No further comment. 😉

@SModa61 I had mine last month. No bad reactions but it did hurt more than the whooping cough shot that I also had to get. With the whooping cough, I guess I'm getting old and my baby and childhood vacs are expiring! Had to have the measles shot again in 1996 when I was 36!

Another 5-hour night of sleep! I woke up at 3:30 and watched RG (tennis) until 10:30. Alas, I completely forgot about the scale. I had a great morning walk yesterday - 7 miles! I had a wonderful visit with friends (friend with ALS). She offered us ice cream and cookies? How could we possibly say no? She’s noticeably weaker and had a feeding tube hooked-up this past week to make sure she’s getting enough nutrition. She’s handling this with incredible courage and grace. She was valedictorian of our class - and so…incredibly smart. But she just isn’t “smart” she’s immeasurably strong, still curious and creative… a life-long learner - still actively learning every moment how to make the most of the time she has left. She’s learning more about neuro-link and how she will use it to manage her daily life. She’s constantly learning new things within her life and family that bring her peace and contentment. She’s a true warrior.
Going bowling this afternoon to celebrate Tucker’s 11th birthday!

FWIW To all:I am not posting this to scare anyone or to stop anyone from anything. But I feel as though I need to share: My mother passed away at age 71 from complications from the flue shot. She was an active, vibrant 5’3” 115 lb dynamo. Her final 18 mos were hell. I have never taken the shot or vaccine for fear my genetic makeup is/was the same as hers… I had to get special permission from several of my employers (healthcare) over the years to opt out… everything has worked out ok. But I’m healthy with zero risk factors. This was just unique to me and my family…. So yes, please, please research and do what you believe/learn… we are not all the same. I simply found in my individual situation that there was more risk than benefit. I’ve had the a mild flu twice in the last 24 years.
5 -
So sorry for your loss. Indeed, health choices should be in our own hands and made with full knowledge of side effects and safety factors. I'm sorry for your mother and for you.
4 -
@Chapter_3 so sorry to hear about your mom. We certainly need to be able to make informed decisions. On vaccines, both my son and our nephew both had the “young male” heart problems from the COVID vaccine. Neither hubby or I feel great from that one either. The flu shot? I never have a reaction. Go figure.
I totally understand your hesitation due to your familial concerns. That must have been difficult.
I still have upset stomach and aches today. My response to a bad stomach is to eat, so calories are not good today.3 -

This whole year I’ve been back to my old game of avoiding the truth about what I’m eating. Meals are fine, but it’s the spaces between where I get myself in trouble, and that’s self-defeating. I'm still totally vulnerable to those same voices as always, and I need to get this back on track NOW. I’m feeing it, finally…I also finally accepted a friend request from @JeffreyD! Thank you and I'm sorry it took so long! I was deeply in avoidance yet again, but I'm back to reboot!
Commitment this round: log food even when going out, root out the "perfectionism" that makes me avoid looking at reality, and get a grip.

🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 298 (my 228th). So grateful as always @Quiltingjaine.
Goals for every round;
First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Spoiler Warning
I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life. "Health is wealth"
5/30 142 – (trend 141) 4.07 miles walked – drove 60 miles to meet up with DD & DGS for the day, steps were obtained whilst waiting for then to arrive! Not proud of the last 3 days, I’ve just gone ferrel!! At least I’ve got a 0.2 pound loss, but it seems that this is becoming a pattern as the last 3 rounds of the previous round I ran amuck too ☹. Maybe I should look at just a 7 day round lol ! I’ll just move on and keep trying.
EW Rnd 297 142
SW Rnd 298 141.6
5/31 141.6 (trend 141.1) 9.06 miles walked. A good start to the round with sensible eating yesterday. Up to Sheffield today for youngest DGD's 4th birthday party, there will be cake, but intend being sensible on everything else.
6/1 144.6 (trend 141.6) ouch! ☹. Overindulged at the party yesterday & no exercise either 😪.
6/2 142.6 (trend 141.7), that’s better, yesterday & during the night after the party I felt very bloated and uncomfortable, last night I was so tired, I went to bed early and slept all through, feel so much better this morning – lesson learnt? 13.74 miles walked.

I did not weigh yesterday, so my SW is from my last step on a scale. I can’t complain about this morning’s reading after the road trip.I want to hit the next 6 days hard because I have another road trip the end this round. I am not going to take a scale because it’s a fly-in fishing trip in Ontario. We have weight restrictions for the final leg of the trip as we fly to a remote lake/fishing camp. Seven days of bliss as we haul Walleye and Pike over the gunnels of the boat. Catch and release except for what we eat for lunch every day. The food will be plentiful, but we will take it all in with us.

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 298
May 31 – June 9, 2025
SW: 128.4
5/31 – 129.0 Did not get this posted on the correct day. I did a mini binge Friday night, and it is showing on the scale. I also had BAD night. I’ll expound below.
6/1 – 128.8 Friday, I had my physical as I mentioned last round. All went well, then she offered me the pneumonia vaccine. I figured why not. Well, man, it better be worth it. I was not warned how crappy I could feel (note that many have no reaction – like my sister). My arm was so sore that I could not sleep, and did not catch on that more was manifesting. I ended up with definite stomach ache, back ache, headache, and I think low level chills. Advil did not cut it, so I added Tylenol. Finally with 5 pills in me I felt good, which I was glad because I had a 10 am at my daughter’s house to show possible dresses. After, I headed to the mall, did returns feeling good and thinking it was over. Nope, it was just that the 5 pills had not worn off. Was in bed or on the couch the rest of the day and went to bed at 8PM. It is almost 7 am Sunday, I THINK it may be over, but just popped some Tylenol just in case.
6/2 – DNW Just was not in the mood to face the scale today, but heh, it is Monday and there is always a chance for a new day and to do better. I expect today to be good.

6/2 Forgot to weigh! Up at 4AM again… & simply forgot… will make sure to ⚖️ tomorrow morning for a good read before we leave town. I consciously took a day off yesterday from everything… I let my day get away from me. Rested. We had a blast bowling… Enjoyed my family immensely. Today, it’s about getting ready to leave town… 💦🚶♀️🏋️♂️.
#HSF It’s all about mindset!

Wow. You don’t know how much I appreciate this comment! Here I am thinking I’m “self-aware” and the obvious didn’t hit me… I certainly don’t want to give up on 4AM OR 4PM Carolyn… cuz 5AM Carolyn can conquer the world… How will I figure this out? 😎
4AM Carolyn suffers from horrible sleep. 5AM Carolyn shifts into an unstoppable gear… and 4PM Carolyn suffers from brain-fog, jet-lag-bio-rhythms & pre-– sundowners syndrome… what a mess! Seriously, what can be done?!

5/31 RTW-Yesterday was a free for all after traveling home from my uncles cabin. Back on the wagon today.
6/1-140-Still feeling the repercussions of the road trip and unnecessary carbs. Today will be cooler, so we won’t be stuck in the house.6/2-140- Made cinnamon rolls to take and ate one while I was there. Off to PB this morning and a fundraiser dinner tonight. No bread today.

@Chapter_3 and @SModa61 My husband had such a bad reaction to the flu shot in 1971 (yes, ancient history) that I thought he was going to die.) The doctor gave him 2 other shots to get over it, the doctor told him to NEVER GET ANOTHER FLU SHOT and we went home. We lost friends because of our refusal to get COVID and flu shots at the beginning of the pandemic. Our older daughter lost her job in a hospital because she wouldn’t get the “jab.” At least that was only for a long weekend, until a judge told that healthcare system that they couldn’t fire everyone. She had requested exemption for religious and medical reasons and both were denied. My own nasty reaction to the last flu shot I had was reason enough for me to not get vaccinated for flu again. It is definitely a decision that should be each person’s and people should not be forced into it.

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
