Happy Friday! Yesterday was a bust for tracking my food. I totally went off the rails at buffet yesterday and ate all the things fried and salty. Tasted so good but was NOT in line with my goals or the fact I have upcoming cholesterol labs. I rarely eat fried foods, although I love them, so once I started it was like a snowball rolling downhill. At least I made myself take a walk last night, and I didn’t eat dinner. Lunch was a lot but it’s all I ate. Moving on…😁😋

Hope everyone has a great day! 😎☀️

@pridesabtch I can totally understand your concerns about job cuts and being proactive. At least you have the luxury of looking for a good fit! 5 minutes from home is hard to beat!

@pridesabtch - congrats on the second round.. Sounds like you might have some choices to make. Commuting to work is such a hassle. I have never had more than a 20 minute commute and now for the last 15 years, its across my living room. I worked remotely before working remotely was cool. But I have had to put my time in traveling and being a road warrior earlier in my work history.

angf0679- sorry about your stressful day at work. Its easy to self soothe with bad choices isn't it? Old habits die hard.. I hate when that happens with Keys but glad you found them.. I always say my superpower is that I can lose keys faster than the speed of light. I literally will set things down and not think about it and so it doesn't register memory wise. Its literally a blank for me on where I put my keys so I am trying to be better about that.

Woke up with a killer headache at 4:30 am. Still got it, ibuprofen not touching it. I think its tension I am holding in my head and neck , probably from work yesterday which was pretty stressful . I didn't take a lot of breaks and was probably staring at my computer for too many hours with bad posture.. I have a heating pad on my neck and shoulders. I really want to go out for dinner somewhere, anywhere… pizza sounds good but I don't feel great AND I have made really good progress this week on getting the scale down and I don't want to spike that. I wish there was a pizza that existed that was low salt.. lol … Decisions decisions…

    • Dog walk during break mid day
    • Treadmill today
    • Work on project deadline documents that are due 6/10- this project is driving me nuts
    • Log food -stay between 1600-1700 calories

Low energy yesterday, so I didn't get any chores done. I did run out for some groceries, but that was it. I took a nap, spent a couple of hours on the phone catching up with one of my sisters, and watched TV with my husband in the evening. Hoping for a more productive day today. On the up side, I've been pretty consistent with logging and making better food choices, and the weight has been slowly edging downward, despite limited exercise. Hopefully I can get back up to speed on that once the health issues are sorted out.

Well, today is the first day of June.

Today I started the month of June at 232.1 Ibs. I asked Chat GPT what is my weight and height equivalent to another 45 year old female of normal height. And I found out that me at 4'8" is equivalent to a 300 Ib woman of normal height 😲 😱 😲. That's an eye opener for me.

I started weighing myself on a regular basis on May 18th and on that day I weighed at 238.1 Ibs. So, a 6 Ib loss from May 18th - June 1st I'm pretty proud of. It'll be interesting to know what I'll weigh on July 1st. I'm hoping I'll be in the 220s.

Here's to an AMAZING healthy June with whatever our goals are.

I took another unplanned JFT & MFP hiatus since last Thurs when hubby and I were out of town for family cookout at middle brother's. Caught up with everyone's JFT posts since then and back to posting again. Way to hang in there, my JFTers! Welcome @Kizzy_Ann!

I have over-indulged lately, and my weight is going up, nearing my high danger zone. That scares me, and makes me mad at myself. I really hate the weight I am right now. I'm uncomfortable in my clothes, and not that much in my closet fits anymore. That has to change. Portion control and knocking off the bad snack/sweet habit (healthy, portion appropriate snacks ok) is my priority.

JFT 6/1 Sunday ~ Cool day again. Can't wait for summer temps to arrive & hang around a while.

    • Church 9:00 😁
    • Whitefish & steamed asparagus for supper / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero
    • OT exercises / walk dog
    • Help hubby with leaking toilet / make rhubarb crisp (Dad gave me a bunch) / clean/refill both bird baths (darn crow using the back one as his washing/feeding station ACK) / wash towels (don't mind having the dryer on today) / change calendars (yes, I have several non-digital) / read / digital declutter / other?

WOTY 2025:  Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

@Kizzy_Ann Welcome! Congratulations on your loss since May! That’s a fantastic start. 🥳👏😁

@beachwalker99 How did your husband’s postop appointments go? Hope you’re feeling better!

@more_freggies76. How was your hiking vacation? I’ll bet it was wonderful. Do you camp when you hike or day hike with a hotel at night? I cannot wait to take a vacation and get out of town for a few days. Hopefully we can take a trip to my dad’s place on the lake sometime this month. Do want to make plans until we know more about his upcoming surgicy schedule.

    ==============================================

One of our grandsons graduated from high school this weekend so we have been busy. I meant to hop on here, but that obviously didn’t happen. Today is hubby’s birthday and he asked me to not get him a cake this year because he has been trying to cut down on sugar and doesn’t want to have DQ ice cream cake around all week. Seems weird not to get him a cake, but we are going to go out to eat one day this week to celebrate and will order dessert and call it good. When you get to your 60’s and 70’s, how you celebrate birthdays sure does change, doesn’t it? Tonight will be burgers on the grill, Italian pasta salad, chips and a brownie with ice cream for dessert. 🥳🥰

It’s late in the day, so I am going to post tomorrow’s goals now. Hope everyone had a great day! 😎🌷

    Just for Tuesday,6/3/2025

    1. 24H plan and assess.

    8. 5 Things Declutter
    9. Prayer time. Reflection time.
    10. Journal. Marcos. Reply to texts or dm's
    11. Fabric Cafe video stream at mom’s this afternoon
    12. Log all my food and water. Complete MFP food diary at the end of the day.

@PackerFaninGB - This vacation was what we call a "dirty paw" vacation. We took the old truck and the dogs and hiked everyday. But we stayed in motels or airbnbs that allow dogs. It was fabulous!

    Still here!

Just been super busy as you can imagine

The funeral was last Wednesday and it was really nice. The UK had the longest run of sun for a fair few years. It didn't rain all through April which is basically when it rains the most! It started raining a few days before the funeral but on the day the sun came out so it was lovely!

I think Ash is coping okay. Well outward appearances seem that way. If I'm honest I think he's struggling to grieve because his dad is taking it very hard.

At the end of the day, it was his wife who died and she was only 59 and he's feeling really really low because he's the one who has to go to an empty house

We're worried about the amount he's drinking, the fact that he's not really cooking for himself (he's buying food) but he's really really miserable. I'm finding it hard to ring his dad because when you ask if he's okay he's basically like "no I'm not okay, everything shi-"

And ash is finding it hard to explain to him that at one point he will be okay and get out the other side but his dad just thinks he'll be miserable forever and if he associates "time healing" with forgetting her, which isn't the case.

Any advice? I don't know what to say or do! Is this normal? And at what point does it go to far?

    It's too hard to navigate

The past few days, I get on here but just don't have the will for goals. Things are just so crazy with the parents, and I'm just so darn tired. Went to bed at 9:30 last night and struggled to get out of bed this morning. I had a meeting on site at 7:30am. I got out of bed at 7:05am. I live close, but that was pushing it. I was a few minutes late and I just didn't care. I look like trash. No make up, hair is icky, and I just don't really care. I have a very full day at work, but I'm just not feeling it. I need to buck up and get my mind right.

Second interview tomorrow for the QM job. Need to find some energy for that. EPA, DOJ & WVEP are all going to be on site Thursday for an audit. We do things right here, but those agencies are very strict. Tensions are high.

I guess I start with goals

We've had cool temps and a good bit of rain in May, so the late spring flowers have been holding up well, but I'm behind on setting up the summer color. My daughter is coming over for lunch and has offered to help with the pool and garden, so I'm hoping to get some more summer bulbs in and maybe work on some hanging baskets. My husband had his follow-ups yesterday and seems to be healing well. He can go back to work tomorrow, but he's restricted from lifting and anything straining like yard work for the next six weeks. Unfortunately, that includes golf. He's an early riser and gets antsy if he's not active, so these next few weeks will be a challenge. My son suggested video games for vicarious activity. We'll see how he does with those😄

@PackerFanInGB - My husband seems to be doing well so far. Thanks for asking. He had a non-cancerous prostrate issue requiring surgery. He's more comfortable now that the catheter is out, but he has to take it easy for 6 weeks, not something he's good at. i have a feeling it will be a challenging 6 weeks for both of us 🤣

Except for really low energy, I'm actually feeling pretty good. But I'm not getting much in the way of exercise or chores. On a brighter note, I haven't been experiencing the leg pains since I stopped the atorvastatin a couple of weeks ago, so I may be in line for a change of meds. I've got a couple of appointments this week to follow up on the thyroid and medication issues, as well as a check-in with the cardiologist who's doing the ablation later this summer. As the saying goes, when it rains, it pours!

Here's hoping that we both get all the health issues resolved so we can get back to the fun stuff!

@Bex953172 Glad to see you post. Sorry I can't be of any help with dealing with grief. Hope your FIL & Ash find comfort in the good memories.

@more_freggies76 That sounds like a wonderful vacation! Happy doggos too, I'll bet.

@beachwalker99 Wishing your hubby a speedy recovery, and good health solutions for you.

@pridesabtch Hang in there! You may have a new job soon anyway.

@angf0679 Yay for your new keyboard! I have an old piano, had belonged to an aunt, that I haven't played in years. Just sitting there completely out of tune and some keys coming apart. I really should do something with that.

    Recap 6/2 M ~ Forecast includes temps to low 80s = wahoo!

    • Walked dog before breakfast to beat temps 😁 3.69 mi & long drink of water at RJs = happy dog & happy me / OT exercises 🙂 3x
    • Leftovers for supper ~ asparagus & shrimp in angel hair so yummy / limit snacks & sweets ~ pistachios (measured out) & rhubarb crisp / 80 oz. water ~ 68 / log all food / net calories zero 🙂 -18
    • Usual M garbage chores / pot up all my herb starters ~ perfect day for this, although while watering from my rainwater cans, found a dead mouse in one & I disposed of it where I dumped the crow's leftovers… ick. When I told hubby, he laughed and said he didn't hear me scream. He knows I hate mice & bats (a problem in my previous house, when we started dating) / call Mom ❤️/ read / digital declutter / other? dug some dandelions & enjoyed time on the patio 😁 ta-da!

JFT 6/3 T ~ Too warm early morning to walk dog. Now we're having rain showers, stronger this evening.

    • Hamburgers from freezer & cabbage with curry for supper / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero
    • PT exercises 😁 / OT exercises / min. 5000 steps
    • Wash dishes ~ done / move herb planters in case of hail ~ done / dug more dandelions ~ done / brush dog ~ done / read / digital declutter / other?

WOTY 2025:  Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!
