Now, if I can avoid self-sabotage I’ll be happy! A gloriously beautiful day here in Northern Michigan. We’ve had frost warnings every night including last night. But tomorrow is supposed to be 90 degrees! That’s what they say about Michigan: “if you don’t like the weather, wait a minute and it will change”. Have a great week everyone!
🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️🏊♀️06/03-191.2 ✅ (Trend Weight: 193.5) Relieved to see this on the scale but I honestly don’t deserve it. My lunch was excellent and well within perimeters, my dinner was fantastic filled with all great and compliant choices. However, my snacks were filled with excess. I guess I couldn’t just pick ONE and I also kept dreaming about the leftover junk from DD and DGS. I had (too many) dry roasted peanuts straight out of the jar (not counted), a LARGE mug of OVERLY CHOCOLATE hot cocoa, 6 Chips Ahoy cookies and 3 ice cream sandwiches (calm down! They don’t make them as big as they used to!) Overdid it a bit Donna???. I did have about 400 calories and many carbs left over from the day but not THAT MANY! Will the scale catch up tomorrow? I dunno but I sure am going to get my water in today but probably not a lot of movement due to the extreme temps and the smoke from the Canadian fires. But I’ll try to get some unpacking and more organizing done with the new primary bedroom. That means lots of stairs!

Another Opportunity to Stay True to Oneself MFP Friends 🤩
I've been fairly awful lately for many reasons. Of course I know better, blah blah & yak yak etc...
We always do. Last round closed 2.6 lbs up and 20lbs overweight.
Nearly everyone can recite what's healthy. Performance is more complex.
I'm anticipating a 😈Hellish😈 two weeks. To make it through, my goals are simple:

Body composition numbers are off between this week and last. I'm sure it's because I did not measure well and/ or average. I'm uncertain if either were done well.
This is not important right now. Until my macros and my strength training routines are on back on schedule, accuracy is less meaningful.
Today I'm benefiting by documenting recent muscle loss. The need to gain muscle is undeniable. Without dense muscle I risk becoming frail. It's also proof that heavy physical activity is not the same as my targeted exercise cycle.
Tanita scale: 22.5% fat / 55.7% water / 22.8% lean calculation / Category - Overweight
YMCA calculation: Body fat 28% / Fat mass 44 lbs / Lean mass 112 lbs / Body Fat Category - Acceptable
DoD calculation: Body fat 33.0% (max 36%) / Body fat in weight 51.4 lbs / Lean body weight 104.6 lbs / Category - under maximum (I use the under forty guidelines for DoD. My goal is to be fit rather than "fit for my age". )

First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end

5/30 142 – (trend 141) 4.07 miles walked – drove 60 miles to meet up with DD & DGS for the day, steps were obtained whilst waiting for then to arrive! Not proud of the last 3 days, I’ve just gone ferrel!! At least I’ve got a 0.2 pound loss, but it seems that this is becoming a pattern as the last 3 rounds of the previous round I ran amuck too ☹. Maybe I should look at just a 7 day round lol ! I’ll just move on and keep trying.

6/2 142.6 (trend 141.7), that’s better, yesterday & during the night after the party I felt very bloated and uncomfortable, last night I was so tired, I went to bed early and slept all through, feel so much better this morning – lesson learnt? 13.74 miles walked.

6/03 173.66/03 172.6 Riding the downhill. I survived on trail mix yesterday. Not something to repeat. Normally this causes a scale jump so I’m surprised to see a drop after eating almost 3000 calories. It takes a lot of fuel to move this much muscle through the kind of days I’m in.
I suspect tomorrow will jump up a bit. I’m planning to enjoy a relaxing evening. DH will be out of town for the night so I’m having take out giant buffalo chicken salad with real blue cheese dressing AND garlic bread- on the couch in my pjs binging “Love on the Spectrum” with my two little dogs after a restorative yoga class.
I need this. The next few days continue at a maddening pace. I can handle it, I can even enjoy most of it, but it’s exhausting.
An evening on the couch will set me up right! Lol I love my DH immensely but I’m looking forward to just not having to speak tonight, like literally not having to say so much as “good-night” seems like a gift right now.

@MSWDiet I just used an online calculator to do the YMCA body fat calculation. I am at 31% ! (It also told me I am obese. Duh.) So that is 70 pounds of body fat mass. If that was in a box on the floor I wouldn't be able to lift it. This is very inspirational.

I did not weigh yesterday, so my SW is from my last step on a scale. I can’t complain about this morning’s reading after the road trip.I want to hit the next 6 days hard because I have another road trip the end this round. I am not going to take a scale because it’s a fly-in fishing trip in Ontario. We have weight restrictions for the final leg of the trip as we fly to a remote lake/fishing camp. Seven days of bliss as we haul Walleye and Pike over the gunnels of the boat. Catch and release except for what we eat for lunch every day. The food will be plentiful, but we will take it all in with us.

5/31 – 129.0 Did not get this posted on the correct day. I did a mini binge Friday night, and it is showing on the scale. I also had BAD night. I’ll expound below.
6/1 – 128.8 Friday, I had my physical as I mentioned last round. All went well, then she offered me the pneumonia vaccine. I figured why not. Well, man, it better be worth it. I was not warned how crappy I could feel (note that many have no reaction – like my sister). My arm was so sore that I could not sleep, and did not catch on that more was manifesting. I ended up with definite stomach ache, back ache, headache, and I think low level chills. Advil did not cut it, so I added Tylenol. Finally with 5 pills in me I felt good, which I was glad because I had a 10 am at my daughter’s house to show possible dresses. After, I headed to the mall, did returns feeling good and thinking it was over. Nope, it was just that the 5 pills had not worn off. Was in bed or on the couch the rest of the day and went to bed at 8PM. It is almost 7 am Sunday, I THINK it may be over, but just popped some Tylenol just in case.
6/2 – DNW Just was not in the mood to face the scale today, but heh, it is Monday and there is always a chance for a new day and to do better. I expect today to be good.
6/3 – 131.0 Oh, man. Given that I had a “perfect” day, and then went late night crazy, I wish I HAD stepped on the scale yesterday. A number like this would have stopped me a day sooner. So up until 8 pm last night, I had fit in a walk (first in at least a week), had planned and tracked all day, was under target, AND was not even hungry when I got out of line. Go figure. I am now past the vaccination side effects, so that cannot be my excuse, and I am committed to not do a third evening with such behavior. I am heading to the gym to get in a session today, something that has also been lacking for over a week. Happy Tuesday all!
6/4 – 130.4 Excellent day yesterday. Hour in the gym, calories tracked and on point. I think the number will improve once my digestive system gets back in order. No TMI this morning, which is not typical. If I can get back into the 128’s by the end of the round, that would be great!

5/31 RTW-Yesterday was a free for all after traveling home from my uncles cabin. Back on the wagon today.
6/1-140-Still feeling the repercussions of the road trip and unnecessary carbs. Today will be cooler, so we won’t be stuck in the house.
6/2-140- Made cinnamon rolls to take and ate one while I was there. Off to PB this morning and a fundraiser dinner tonight. No bread today.
6/3-DNW-Today, today I will be back on the wagon. Yoga this morning, horse, yard work and some quilting when it gets hot….6/4-140-PB this morning and hope to stay out of the snacks.

6/04 - 168.6 - I'm feeling rather good with things right now. I've managed to get my steps in, though some days I'm pacing before bed to do so while others I go above and beyond. I'm also getting my water intake up to or above 100oz so far this week. Food is all logged and and within goals for today. I tentatively decided on the two dinners for next week's meal prep and need to figure out sides (keto dinner) and lunches. I also need to spend some time today figuring out what breakfast will consist of tomorrow so I can pre-log it and be prepared since breakfast is usually a bit rushed between getting home from the gym, showering, and getting on the computer for work in a timely manner. It can be done, though! Walk is postponed to the afternoon again today due to some morning storms. I love the storms but they do shake up routine for the dogs and I. Oh well, we need the rain and I love the sound of rumbling thunder and pitter-patter of rain on my metal roof.

6/1 232.2 🚶🏽🍎✅ Didn’t think I could do 3 days in a row at 3 miles, but I did. There was no pain, ok, minimal, so I kept going….i know i need a day of rest but I think Im going to push to Tuesday (work day) when I only do treadmill….Calories 1752, so bump from the day before, I guess. I’ve got to get back to logging my CICO in my spreadsheet so I can start to troubleshoot the lack of downward trend.

6/3 230.4 🚶🏽🍎✅⬇️ Yes!! 4 days in a roll clocking 3 miles each day and happy to see the scale come down. Today, active rest day. I was on the treadmill for 30 minutes. It's a work day so I'll be sitting for about 6 hours but have nothing else physical planned for the day. Calories 1964. I've been focusing on eating (dinner) earlier…between 3 & 4…but unfortunately that leaves room for snacks..but as long as I can control the snacks to stay under calorie goal… Win???
6/4 231.4 🚶🏽🍎✅💧 Less active just by the fact that it was a work day but I did manage to close my rings (700/45/12). I considered yesterday an active rest day and did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Calories 1616. Finally a decent water day. It's wet and rainy today and looks like an all day thing. Unlikely to get 3 miles in but will do my VRBox/Dance for a bit. My treadmill does not give me the same mileage as outside so I just use time for measurement there.

5/31 133.0 83 days until DGS’s wedding. Of course I am now wishing I had bought the dress that wasn’t my favorite because that was the one DH “LOVED” My initial comment was “I don’t love this one.” I may have to go back and see if it’s still there. I absolutely HATE buying clothes!

6/2 132.5 Great Greek yesterday, one chicken skewer and small salad, 1T natural PB in the late afternoon.

My lunch was excellent and well within perimeters, my dinner was fantastic filled with all great and compliant choices. However, my snacks were filled with excess. I guess I couldn’t just pick ONE and I also kept dreaming about the leftover junk from DD and DGS. I had (too many) dry roasted peanuts straight out of the jar (not counted), a LARGE mug of OVERLY CHOCOLATE hot cocoa, 6 Chips Ahoy cookies and 3 ice cream sandwiches (calm down! They don’t make them as big as they used to!) Overdid it a bit Donna???. I did have about 400 calories and many carbs left over from the day but not THAT MANY! Will the scale catch up tomorrow? I dunno but I sure am going to get my water in today but probably not a lot of movement due to the extreme temps and the smoke from the Canadian fires. But I’ll try to get some unpacking and more organizing done with the new primary bedroom. That means lots of stairs!

The fiddler always insists on his pay and he’s a greedy little bast##d. Anyway, I could not get my trend weight today because I transferred the weight from my smart scale to my fitbit app incorrectly as 92 lbs instead of 192 pounds. Can’t seem to get it to recognize the change even with restarting computer, restarting phone etc. I hope it will eventually adjust today. If not, I hope it will not mess up the future trends as tomorrows weight will look like a 100 pound increase overnight! Ah, technology was to make life easier, right?

I've been fairly awful lately for many reasons. Of course I know better, blah blah & yak yak etc...
We always do. Last round closed 2.6 lbs up and 20lbs overweight.
Nearly everyone can recite what's healthy. Performance is more complex.

Body composition numbers are off between this week and last. I'm sure it's because I did not measure well and/ or average. I'm uncertain if either were done well.
This is not important right now. Until my macros and my strength training routines are on back on schedule, accuracy is less meaningful.
Today I'm benefiting by documenting recent muscle loss. The need to gain muscle is undeniable. Without dense muscle I risk becoming frail. It's also proof that heavy physical activity is not the same as my targeted exercise cycle.
Tanita scale: 22.5% fat / 55.7% water / 22.8% lean calculation / Category - Overweight
YMCA calculation: Body fat 28% / Fat mass 44 lbs / Lean mass 112 lbs / Body Fat Category - Acceptable
DoD calculation: Body fat 33.0% (max 36%) / Body fat in weight 51.4 lbs / Lean body weight 104.6 lbs / Category - under maximum (I use the under forty guidelines for DoD. My goal is to be fit rather than "fit for my age". )

5/30 142 – (trend 141) 4.07 miles walked – drove 60 miles to meet up with DD & DGS for the day, steps were obtained whilst waiting for then to arrive! Not proud of the last 3 days, I’ve just gone ferrel!! At least I’ve got a 0.2 pound loss, but it seems that this is becoming a pattern as the last 3 rounds of the previous round I ran amuck too ☹. Maybe I should look at just a 7 day round lol ! I’ll just move on and keep trying.

5/31 – 129.0 Did not get this posted on the correct day. I did a mini binge Friday night, and it is showing on the scale. I also had BAD night. I’ll expound below.
6/1 – 128.8 Friday, I had my physical as I mentioned last round. All went well, then she offered me the pneumonia vaccine. I figured why not. Well, man, it better be worth it. I was not warned how crappy I could feel (note that many have no reaction – like my sister). My arm was so sore that I could not sleep, and did not catch on that more was manifesting. I ended up with definite stomach ache, back ache, headache, and I think low level chills. Advil did not cut it, so I added Tylenol. Finally with 5 pills in me I felt good, which I was glad because I had a 10 am at my daughter’s house to show possible dresses. After, I headed to the mall, did returns feeling good and thinking it was over. Nope, it was just that the 5 pills had not worn off. Was in bed or on the couch the rest of the day and went to bed at 8PM. It is almost 7 am Sunday, I THINK it may be over, but just popped some Tylenol just in case.
6/2 – DNW Just was not in the mood to face the scale today, but heh, it is Monday and there is always a chance for a new day and to do better. I expect today to be good.
6/3 – 131.0 Oh, man. Given that I had a “perfect” day, and then went late night crazy, I wish I HAD stepped on the scale yesterday. A number like this would have stopped me a day sooner. So up until 8 pm last night, I had fit in a walk (first in at least a week), had planned and tracked all day, was under target, AND was not even hungry when I got out of line. Go figure. I am now past the vaccination side effects, so that cannot be my excuse, and I am committed to not do a third evening with such behavior. I am heading to the gym to get in a session today, something that has also been lacking for over a week. Happy Tuesday all!
6/4 – 130.4 Excellent day yesterday. Hour in the gym, calories tracked and on point. I think the number will improve once my digestive system gets back in order. No TMI this morning, which is not typical. If I can get back into the 128’s by the end of the round, that would be great!
6/5 – 129.4 Ok, now we are getting back to reality. Did not get in any exercise yesterday, but lots of packing and cleaning up. Early morning at my mom’s ALF, but found and resolved several issues, then returned two more dresses, came home and got the house ready, cooked dinner, finished cleaning, drove to maine (again) and unpacked the car. Today, I plan to get a walk this morning, before it gets hot. Then errands to run, and then the day just gets normal.

I can’t complain about this morning’s reading after the road trip.I want to hit the next 6 days hard because I have another road trip the end this round. I am not going to take a scale because it’s a fly-in fishing trip in Ontario. We have weight restrictions for the final leg of the trip as we fly to a remote lake/fishing camp. Seven days of bliss as we haul Walleye and Pike over the gunnels of the boat. Catch and release except for what we eat for lunch every day. The food will be plentiful, but we will take it all in with us.

6/03 172.66/04 173.6 It wasn’t a binge- it was a refuel. Boy did I need it. I needed veggies and fat and protein and carbs. I did have a case of my eyes being bigger than my stomach. I was mildly uncomfortably full because I ate the whole salad (tossed most of the garlic bread- if nine year old me could see this!)
When I got home from work at 4pm yesterday I was 170.6 when I went to bed at 8pm (yes I was THAT tired) I was 175.6!
I’ve mentioned this in the past but- I weigh myself several times a day. Mostly because I have a lot of wardrobe changes workout clothes, gardening clothes, around the house clothes, going out in public clothes. I tend to just jump on the scale every time I change.
This really helps me understand my weight and how everyday it’s a range of 3-5lbs in 24hrs. For example I know I consistently weigh two pounds less when I wake up than when I go to bed.
But a 5lb change in 4 hours is a big swing! I was so depleted and dehydrated! I need to take better care of myself- particularly with hydrating!!!!Me and my looonnnggg posts. Weird thing I’m stuck on, I mentioned I do laundry everyday during boxing this week and I was the only one out of a group of 12 woman of various ages that thought this was normal.
The above wardrobe changes might have something to do with it (I do get two wears out of a lot of my “hard clothes”) but even a load every other day seems normal for a two adult house.
There are towels, bath mats, sheets, a table cloth, kitchen towels, throw blankets plus clothes to think about. There are delicates and there are whites.
It just seems like there is almost always a load to toss in. Why would you just pile it up???? Three different women said “every two weeks”. I wanted to barf.
These are women with washers and dryers IN THEIR house!
Disclaimer: my judgement is not for laundry matte goers or shared laundry room apartment dwellers!!!lol I’m really not super judgy but isn’t just doing it consistently easier then piling it up for weeks???
Oh I just thought about me and paperwork- I need to meditate on that. And put the laundry in the dryer!5 -

Calories 1616. Finally a decent water day. It's wet and rainy today and looks like an all day thing. Unlikely to get 3 miles in but will do my VRBox/Dance for a bit. My treadmill does not give me the same mileage as outside so I just use time for measurement there.

Even from 3 on, I was at least 75% on each ring so I would have closed them… oh well. I didn't get my walk in due to the weather but I repotted about 10 plants which gave me quite a calisthenic workout :) Calories 1947. Headed out today but feeling very sore….hopefully will walk it off!

6/9@Skyleen75 ~ interesting approach to laundry. I have a varying approach…mind you all of this is now that I'm part-time. While working, it was once a week….several loads.
This part hasn't changed…these are separate loads …never to be combined and done as needed*
*kitchen towels, cloth placemats (don't use table cloths anymore)
*bed linens > delegated to my husband but done weekly.
*bath matts, towels etc. as needed (I have lots of towels)
*floor rugsThen there's clothing….
My goals is still once a week but if I notice a lot of workout clothes, I will throw a load in. I also split loads with "like" clothes. (Ie: all jeans and shorts, All tops, All workout clothes). Why? Because I despise folding and putting laundry away, so if I make them as small as possible, it doesn't seems to be as big of a burden.If I did it daily…there would always be clothes left in the dryer and that's a pet peeve of mind :)

@Skyleen75 I ❤️ your laundry rant! My DH does ours so however he chooses is fine with me! The washer we got a few years ago is so deep that I can barely reach the bottom. I would get rid of it in a flash if it were up to me! I can no longer hand dye fabric or garments because the seems to be no way to to repeated rinses. Sometimes there is barely enough water to get the load wet so he has to trick the machine into thinking there is more stuff in it. It’s a PITA at 75/76.
When our girls were still at home, I did laundry on Saturday. There was always a red load and a yellow load.3 -

5/31 133.0 83 days until DGS’s wedding. Of course I am now wishing I had bought the dress that wasn’t my favorite because that was the one DH “LOVED” My initial comment was “I don’t love this one.” I may have to go back and see if it’s still there. I absolutely HATE buying clothes!

6/2 132.5 Great Greek yesterday, one chicken skewer and small salad, 1T natural PB in the late afternoon.
6/3 133.0 No explanation for uptick. I made Crack Chicken Casserole for dinner and ate 1 serving of 4. We love leftovers!
6/4 132.0 We had a short session at the gym yesterday morning but at least WE WENT! Carl took blind friend to lunch. I ate the last portion of the casserole plus, later, 3 chunks of chicken from Great Great w/tzatziki. Today a new challenge a different restaurant that’s only been open for about a month or so, called the Lazy Dog.
6/5 132.5 Great cheeseburger with some green chilies, onion and guac and great fries - I ate too many🤷♀️- they were crispy, just as I asked.
