Nice parkrun MaryMary even if you did not PR…. LOL. Hey Chris. I see you upping that mileage for your 5K in July. Well done and stupid links are a pain so I am just not.
I did manage a WOG yesterday. Mostly I tried to get my HR up over 100 for the first time in a week off and on and move a little more with my arms. I did have a small crash yesterday morning so now situps are off the table for a little while also while my butt and lower back yell at me. Watch did NOT even tell me I was on the floor. But all good. Today I will keep trying my WOG walking and wogging as my running shoes actually feel good on my foot support wise and apparently it's no worse and maybe some better.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Morning all
I ran a Half distance. 13.13M at 09'33.
Got a bit carried away. Was in for 10, then thought my long ushe of 11.22, then went over and was like aaah efff it. Just do it.
I 'raw dogged' it as the kids would say. Empty stomach, no gels and no water.
So now I better go hydrate and make sure my p33 is not the colour of tropical Fanta.
@SummerSkier good to see you out there.
@ContraryMaryMary sorry the 60 year old dude dragged you down to boyfriend pace for that last 0.11M.
@chris_in_cal good to see you upping it!
@quilteryoyo @daria0919 thank you!
@Laurz9191 glad kids had fun at zoo!
.
@martaindale how's South Africa going? Eaten any braii yet? Amarula Dom Pedro dessert?

Posting two days. Yesterday I went out early for a fasted driveway wun before heading to my annual eye exam and then work. I was slow and had to stop 3 times to stretch out my back because my right toes and leg were getting numb. I must have some sort of pinched nerve from the scoliosis or something. Anyway, I took it fairly easy, and then ran a fast 0.25 miles. The run was at an avg pace of 13:13 min/mile. The fast quarter was a t a 9:28 min/mile pace. My avg HR was 118 with a max of 144 bpm.
Today, I wasn't in the mood to run and wasn't feeling the best, so did a slow treadmill run. I did at least go a bit further than planned. The run was at an avg pace of 13:51 min/mile. My Avg HR was 106 with a max of 128 bpm.
We had a church picnic tonight, so I ate way too much. Why do I do that to myself?

Sunday long run today but I was feeling tired and my legs and hips were a bit achy so I kept it slow and just did my local loop, which while a lot shorter than the 15k I had planned (11.4k) but it is awfully hilly so I imagine the energy expenditure was about the same.

Thanks everyone for the kind words on the run and the streak! Feeling the love!😊
Been a productive running week - got in a pacey 10K midweek and then an unplanned Half! Think I may rest up today (50 is a nice round number), or at most a 2mile shakeout (I could drag my youngest out - he hasn't run in ages!)
6 -
@Mari33a Any good?
Speaking of food...
@quilteryoyo oooohhh what was in the picnic that you overindulged in?
@ContraryMaryMary well done on the Hilly 11k

So I just made ginger crunch but discovered when I came to make the icing that I had no icing sugar so subbed in caster sugar hoping for a fudge-like topping. Unfortunately the mixture got too hot and we ended up with toffee. 😂The children are delighted.
I managed to get it cut before it set rock hard, but only just 🤭 Eating it could be a challenge…

@ContraryMaryMary umm... YUMM! 🤤🤤

It’s delicious @tarun_yadavA, but not advised for those with dentures, braces, or loose fillings!

Morning all
Ah! Who am I kidding? Got in an easy 5K - at 10'24 mins per mile (yes, jumping between metrics there).
Ran first two with 10 year old who hasn't run in a long time!
Have a lovely Sunday all

Those toffees MaryMary woulhd definitely be dangerous. I think I would have to just let them melt in my mouth. Tarun, nice recovery run and EXCELLENT you got the 10 yo out. Quilter hope that whatever you pinched to make your foot tingle was better yesterday. Nice running Mari33 intresting you have one of those BRaii restaurants there.
Yesterday I managed to go the entire 30 minutes without walking and today my foot is not complaining so I think that's improvement. The swelling and coloring are about gone altho the orig area which had the lump is still sore and lumpy. Of course it seems like these years when I get a lump from something it may or may not every go away. I still have a bump on my right hip from 2017 when I banged into something.
@daria here is a purple martin update for you*******
Dang here we are starting the 2nd week already of June and everyone is already making plans for July 4th weekend here. I stood outside yesterday evening and watched my Purple Martins at dusk flying around feeding. There were SO many of them (aybe 40 or 50) and they were so loud. I think at least 4 or 5 gourds have fledged and the babies squawk a lot. I did notice that altho they spun and whirled and flew over the colony for almost 30 minutes they did not stay the night. Only the parents with young still came in. So perhaps their first overnight trip is why they were so excited. Altho I did see some mites yesterday in the a few gourds most of the babies are healthy and I think it will be a successful season after the tragedy earlier in Feb with the FREEZING rain and such which killed 10 or so early arrivals.

Great job getting out when you weren't feeling it @ContraryMaryMary . It looks really delicious. Don't break a tooth! 😉
You have had a great week @tarun_yadavA . Getting your youngest out for a run
sounds likewas a great idea. Have you ever just run 2 miles? To answer your question - the normal picnic stuff. I had both a cheeseburger and a hot dog, chips, dip, fruit, various desserts, macaroni salad, baked beans…must I go on. 🤣 I will say that I gained 2.6 pounds overnight, if that tells you anything.Yeah @SummerSkier . Sounds like you are definitely on the mend! My back/leg was better yesterday, thank you. I get that tingling a lot. Most of the time, if I just keep running, it quits. When it doesn't one good stretch normally takes care of it. Friday was a different story for some unknown reason.

@tarun_yadavA super job in getting so many miles in before your trip! When do you all head out? I’m glad your younger son got a run in too! 😀
waving HI to him: 👋@SummerSkier thanks for the Purple Martin description and photo - would love to see such a wonder in person one day!
We have a few bluebird houses set up and each spring we watch the parents through the whole process. I peek in and see the beautiful blue eggs, watch as the parents start to feed the babies and take periodic photos of the young ones as they progress into fledglings. The one think I have never gotten to see is when exactly they leave the nest. I only check in every few days so as not to scare off the parents. Then one day everyone’s gone from the house, off to see the world. We had 5 babies this first round. Usually eggs are layed twice, once in the spring and once in early summer. Waiting for round two.
Amazingly long MFP streaks by so many of you! Congrats!!
@ContraryMaryMary a big YUM!! They look delish!
Thank you to so many that had kind words and well wishes for me! Much appreciated. My foot and ankle are quite bruised at this point. The Ortho world around here is so swamped with business that all I got was a trauma/orthopedic NP appointment for tomorrow morning. I’ve been icing, elevating, etc. I still need to get some driving done and it is my right foot, so that’s been a pain, literally and figuratively.

So as well as dealing with my Mom and that heartache. My aunt, her sister, died last night. My aunt had Alzheimer's and was in a memory care facility this last year. I had to tell my Mom last night that her sister had passed. Sadly, my Mom is passed understanding.
Dealing with the punches today.
