Round 299

June 10 - 19, 2025

Please join us starting on 6/10 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 299!

Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.

Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.

Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!

Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.

FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE

Thank you all for “sticking it out” here with me!

Does anyone have experience with a weighted vest? DD#2 got one for me and I wore it while we were working on the project yesterday. I know it’s supposed to help with bone density and increase muscle endurance. I may have overdone it by wearing it for about 3 hours but I don’t think I did any damage. I feel fine this morning and my back didn’t hurt at all yesterday.

how heavy a vest? I want to get one and have read and listened to info on the use. Steps are to ease into it, and I think I recall 10% body weight max at the top. I remeber one podcast talking about the balance between challenging your body vs too much on your joints.

I think I attached the episode. The Dr. Doug show, March 28, 2025.

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 299 (my 229th). So grateful as always @quiltingjaine .

    Goals for every round;

First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!

to weigh less at the end of the round than the start

be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end

I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    image-3efc9a1d06ef98-479c.png

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 66 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

Just Give Me 10 Days – Round 299
    June 10 - 19, 2025

    SW: 127.0

6/10 – 127.2 This number implies that MAYBE somehow yesterday was real. Ending up doing a “feeding” day yesterday. Woke before 6 to hydrate for lab work. Got to the lab at 6:45 expecting a line, only to find out they open at 7:30. But hey, I was first in line, but no coat in the cold for 45 minutes :P Ran nearby errands before heading home, so was uber hungry. Ate like 2/3 of my daily calories by noon, and did lots on Caramel cold brew M&M’s in the evening. Felt good to actually not be hungry in the evening. Tracked everything, and was 800+ cal over my deficit target number. Not sure what maintenance my number is, but it is higher than deficit (yes, I can figure that out :) ), so mathematical principles would say my surplus calories are some number less than 800 cal. Yes, I’m rambling this morning …….

Most lab  work came in. Was hoping for a little better. We’ll see what comes.

➖ Also, lowered my mini weight loss goal again.. this time to 148.  So I lowered all my nutrient goals in MFP. I imagine it’s only going to get more difficult to lose weight at this point.

@SModa61 Yes, I was reading about the vests yesterday (better late than never?) and will need to read again! Mine is about 10#. Since I’m trying to stand straighter, we have most of the weight in the back. There are 5 extra “sand bags” if I want/need to increase but as DD pointed out, it is almost at 10% of my weight. The best news is that I have NOT awakened with a sore neck/headache for the last 2 mornings! DH and I are going to the gym later but I am leery of wearing it on the treadmill so will leave it home. DD got 3 vests through “MAC-bids.” I don’t even know what that is but I know she gets great deals. I think the one she put on was 20# and the third is 35!!!

6/10 - 167.3 - Wow, I wasn't expecting this drop! I drank my 100oz of water and was sure my weight would blip up from the added water after 2 days of mild dehydration/sun. Glad it's not the case. Well on track to meet or exceed my 100oz water goal again today. Meals/snacks are all planned for today and I have tomorrow already planned and logged to stay within goal. Feeling confident. BF may be getting a tooth pulled Friday (it has been broken awhile apparently) so he requested we smoke pork butt and have pork sliders for Father's day. There's enough food we should be able to eat on it for a couple of days, I think. That will be relatively easy to fit into macros or at least into my calorie deficit for the weekend. I have hope of progress this round!

Let's do this again folks.🤩 Wishing everyone a successful round of self care.

I can barely manage simple right now. Last round I dropped water weight. Looks impressive at over 5 lbs but no fat loss.

I'm getting off a temporary medication and eating better. Hopefully by next week I can take "true" weights and measures.

    Goals:

*Show Up - 10 of 10 posts including days I'll have no internet access or a scale. I'll make my usual note and post it when I can.

*Weigh daily - I'll use any scale I can find while traveling and I will call myself out if I don't do my best to find one.

*Post body composition twice - Subject to the scale; however, I'll will bring my tape measure and note changes.

    Rnd 299 SW 153.4 lbs

    6/10 - 153.2 lbs

Nothing can best the all water 6.2 lb decline last round. Measurements are all over the place because of boating.

Eating is getting better. If I can stay away from easy quick foods I'll regain stability and save money too. Best of all, good food tastes better.

I'd love to know how this goes for you. That is great that DD got a good deal. I'll have to look up what Mac bids may be.

With all going on, I am struggling to find time for my exercise. I'll just keep trying and doing my best even though it is sub par.

Highest weight 364, had the sleeve lost down to 229. I've put back on 30 after I started back drinking alcohol. My goal this round is to stop alcohol, decrease fast food/processed foods and lose 5-10lbs.

6/10 261 Was in the road all day for my moms dr appt's and groceries. Proud that I picked unsweet tea instead of Diet Dr. Pepper.
