@pridesabtch I guess when it rains it pours. Hugs to you, my friend!

@HappyDonkey75 Sorry you are sore and in a funk. Good luck with with the horseshow!

Hospice update (for those that want to read, otherwise feel free to skip): Based on daily physical updates from hubby, I had a feeling SIL will not be with us much longer. Hospice this morning told family 24-48 hours. I asked hubby if he wanted me to go with him this afternoon, and he said that I wouldn't be comfortable spending all that time that he does. So he's gone again and I'm home.

Recap 6/10 T ~ Another cool & cloudy day. I so want to see the sun and wear shorts!

• Mac & cheese with spam & peas for supper ~ too big a portion / limit snacks & sweets ~ 1 oz. pretzels, banana, rhubarb cinnamon bread / 80 oz. water ~ 64 / log all food ~ even created recipe in MFP for rhubarb bread… oops, more than I'd guessed / net calories zero 😐️ about -174
• OT exercises ~ 3x / walked dog 3.95 mi & saw baby woodchuck start to cross the road but when it saw us, it dashed back to hide in culvert. Cute but kept dog on tight leash; no need to tussle with baby (or mama) woodchuck. Also saw RJ for treats/pets/water so happy dog & 😁 happy me
• Laundry (some on line drying) ~ too humid out to completely dry, had to hang in laundry room in evening / put away clean dishes / make hummer food & refill all bird feeders / de-poop backyard (doggo went where she usually doesn't, but is allowed, due to rain earlier this week) / order box dinner for concert at garden on R / wash dishes / finance tasks / read / digital declutter / other? 😀 ta-da!

JFT 6/11 W ~ Finally, summer weather back. Partly sunny & warm!!! I'm wearing shorts again.

• Walked dog before too hot but warm enough & saw numerous others getting their walk/jog in early in the day. Also saw baby bunny, so cute but we have more than enough bunnies in our neighborhood. 3.57 mi 😎 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises
• Breakfast was skyr instead of the usual / lunch with good friend DE (so good to see her again) ~ ordered small omelette, fruit cup, ate only 1 piece toast with little jam & coffee so I call that a win / leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water / log all food (best guess) / net calories zero
• Helped hubby move picnic table so he could finish mowing when I got back & put all the yard doo-dads back (he had to pull since I was gone) / dug dandelions / cleaned both bird baths & refilled only the one (still to keep crows from using the other) / put away clean dishes / put away laundry / call Mom / finance tasks / read / digital declutter / other?

WOTY 2025:  Judicious ~ I just like the way the word sounds, and the meaning is right for me: having or showing reason and good judgement in making decisions. I can apply this word in so many ways!

Hubby's sister passed away this morning, 6 days after entering hospice. I'm glad she's no longer in pain and struggling to breathe. Hubby seems to be ok, since this was expected. He often tends to hide his emotions, so I'll keep close eye on him.

Recap 6/11 W ~ Finally, summer weather back. Partly sunny & warm!!! I'm wearing shorts again.

• Walked dog before too hot but warm enough & saw numerous others getting their walk/jog in early in the day. Also saw baby bunny, so cute but we have more than enough bunnies in our neighborhood. 3.57 mi 😎 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises 😕 only 1x
• Breakfast was skyr instead of the usual / lunch with good friend DE (so good to see her again) ~ ordered small omelette, fruit cup, ate only 1 piece toast with little jam & coffee so I call that a win / leftovers for supper / limit snacks & sweets ~ no snacks, 1 slice rhubarb cinnamon bread / 80 oz. water ~ est. 64? / log all food (best guess) / net calories zero 🙂 est. -70 pretty good for eating out
• Helped hubby move picnic table so he could finish mowing when I got back & put all the yard doo-dads back (he had to pull since I was gone) / dug dandelions / cleaned both bird baths & refilled only the one (still to keep crows from using the other) / put away clean dishes / put away laundry ~ only some / call Mom ❤️ / finance tasks ~ main ones done, but computer updates running in background slowed me down (and irritated the heck out of me) / read / digital declutter / other? 😁 ta-da!

JFT 6/12 R ~ More cool weather… at least I don't have to get up extra early to walk dog.

• Walked dog alternate route since road repairs nearby & went 3.91 mi without intending to… happy, tired dog & happy me 😁 / OT exercises
• Late breakfast so having light lunch/snacks before boxed dinner at concert in garden this evening / 1 adult beverage / 80 oz. water / log food best guess / net calories zero
• Contacted Mom/Dad, sister & aunt with updates ❤️ brothers will hear eventually / put rest of laundry away / water tomatoes & herb planters / more finance tasks / find trifle recipe / read / digital declutter / other?
• Concert in garden 6:00 / pick up food for hubby before (if he decides to go) / pick up boxed dinner (pre-ordered)

Thank you for the condolences, my JFTers. Much appreciated.

Recap 6/12 R ~ More cool weather… at least I don't have to get up extra early to walk dog.

• Walked dog alternate route since road repairs nearby & went 3.91 mi without intending to… happy, tired dog & happy me 😁 / OT exercises ~ 2x 🙂
• Late breakfast so having light lunch/snacks before boxed dinner at concert in garden this evening ~ I followed the plan & did well 😁 happy me / 1 adult beverage 😀 can koozie was more to keep my hand from getting cold than keeping beer cold LOL / 80 oz. water ~ 64 / log food best guess / net calories zero 😐️ -278?
• Contacted Mom/Dad, sister & aunt with updates ❤️ brothers will hear eventually / put rest of laundry away / water tomatoes & herb planters / more finance tasks / find trifle recipe / read / digital declutter / other? napped on couch unexpectedly in the evening & felt so good 😂 ta-da!
• Concert in garden 6:00 ~ band was good but weather was not… jeans, jackets & lots of hoods up to protect from winds & rain drops (only sprinkles), sure didn't feel like summer 😋 / pick up food for hubby before (if he decides to go) ~ hubby ordered & picked up before we went / pick up boxed dinner (pre-ordered) ~ they butchered my first name again even though I spelled it to her LOL

JFT 6/13 F ~ Crap weather… we'll be lucky if temp reaches 60F today. Quite breezy & mostly cloudy. I'm really ready for summer!

• Chilly this morning so I actually made hot oatmeal for breakfast / light lunch (leftover chicken, arugula salad) / spaghetti supper (carb load) at Astor Park (I buy hubby's too even though he's not in race) / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water (want to be hydrated for tomorrow's 10K) / log all food / net calories zero
• No dog walk (planned) / PT exercises? / OT exercises
• Bday wishes to sister's eldest step & niece's hubby / remember today is hubby's late dad's bday / find trifle recipe / make rhubarb recipe? (not bad idea to have oven on today LOL) / check any road closures on way to park for race / review virtual goody bag & print claims / prep farmer's market cash / read / digital declutter / other?
• Race packet pick-up & health/fitness expo starts 3 p.m. / spaghetti feed 4:30 - 7:30 / prep race gear & keep in family room (so dog doesn't see me put on first thing) / set alarm 6:30 / leave home by 7:15 a.m. Sat.

🔹THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.

🔹REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

📍Daily weight fluctuations are NORMAL and can be more than 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.

📍A general downward trend is what we are looking for.

📍Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.

• The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.

📍Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.

📍The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.

📍When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.

📍Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Busy weekend! My husband and I celebrated our 44th anniversary on Friday with a quiet dinner out. Then my FIL came up on Saturday for a few days, and we spent time with some of the kids and grandkids. I've been doing my best to make good food choices, but haven't completely avoided the treats. I'll try to get back on track in a day or two.

Been kind of quiet, but I've been lurking. Took mom to see one of the assisted living homes yesterday, that did not go well. It did go better than I thought, but I didn't think she'd go. I have one more place to show her. It is not as nice and hopefully she'll see that I'm trying to give her the best chance to enjoy life and have friends. She really doesn't want to go, but I'm worried for her.

Tim's dad is doing better, but his mom is declining rapidly and becoming very mean and confrontational. His dad actually said she might need to go to a home. That is a huge admission from him. He says even though she needs it he can't do it because it would kill her. The guilt is strong.

My diet is crap… Struggling to set goals or to even care right now, but that will do me no good so I am here today. Just a to do list, will work on portions, but not logging today.
