    6/14 174.6 I forgot to hit post yesterday! I had a total hungry, hungry hippo binge on Thursday night. I ate three different dinners!

    Yesterday should have deflated the binge but high sugar drinks in the afternoon nixed that. We finally got a beautiful sunny day and it coincided with our downtown block party. A few evenings each summer we shut down different streets in the village and we all hang out.
    When I was a small child in Brooklyn, block parties were a big deal and I love that our village does their version.

    lol but the grills were grilling and the drinks were flowing!!!

    I’m ready to go push at the gym with high cardio body combat and then finish off with an hour in the garage with my hard core gang. It’s gonna hurt!!!

    June 10 - 19, 2025

    6/10 – 127.2 This number implies that MAYBE somehow yesterday was real. Ending up doing a “feeding” day yesterday. Woke before 6 to hydrate for lab work. Got to the lab at 6:45 expecting a line, only to find out they open at 7:30. But hey, I was first in line, but no coat in the cold for 45 minutes. :P Ran nearby errands before heading home, so was uber hungry. Ate like 2/3 of my daily calories by noon, and did lots on Caramel cold brew M&M’s in the evening. Felt good to actually not be hungry in the evening. Tracked everything, and was 800+ cal over my deficit target number. Not sure what maintenance my number is, but it is higher than deficit (yes, I can figure that out :) ), so mathematical principles would say my surplus calories are some number less than 800 cal. Yes, I’m rambling this morning …….

    Most lab  work came in. Was hoping for a little better. We’ll see what comes.

    6/11- 128.8 Perfect day until 8 pm, then I went off the wall. Oh well. It is now 7:30 at night when I am finally posting. Today, so far, day was “good enough”. Hopefully the scale in the morning will show I have not done a full 1.8 lb damage I saw on the scale this morning.

    6/12 – 129.8 Three days in a row. Posted at 7:30 last night, all was fine, then I did another bad evening. Gotta sort this out. I really did not want to step on the scale this morning because I knew what was coming, but avoiding the scale is the start of a snowball for me. Today will be good. Period. Call me out tomorrow if I report differently!!!

    6/13 – 130.0 I was solidly under calories by evening (an absolute *kitten* show of a day), and amazingly was not hungry. Later in the evening, I was proud of myself for choosing a healthy treat of skinnygirl popcorn. Ate that, was great, still under on calories, and still not hungry, then I started again. Four nights in a row. Argh

    6/14 – 128.8 Yesterday was “better” but still not what it should be. Let see how much I can fix by the end of the round. Today is out for lunch with a friend, but it is seasons 52 which is thoughtful and informative on its calories. So theoretically I should be able to do an on target day. Tomorrow, father’s day, will be more challenging.

    Work stress- went to sleep at 8pm last night. Felt great needed it. I feel like this challenge will be about getting my head together so I can focus on 300. Father’s Day/ hubby’s birthday tomorrow. Going to focus on real accurate tracking today, getting some movement.

I usually don’t weigh on Fridays because of the time table but I wanted to see if any of the bloat from the Mexican food yesterday dropped off. About half. It takes one day to add it and way longer to lose it. Oh, the complexities of the human body! Emergency travel required today as DGS age 6 is being taken by ambulance to a hospital downstate a couple of hours away for emergency appendix removal. Meals will be hospital food or a local restaurant later. Lots of travel and hospital sitting. I don’t expect good things on the scale tomorrow and may skip weighing altogether. My main focus right now is getting on the road. Prayers for Asher. Today is also my oldest daughter’s birthday. She’s 42 now. Where does the time go? Just yesterday she was wearing a little sunsuit and learning to walk on the scratchy lawn of our little humble rental house! Now she’s a beautiful wife, mother and headstart teacher. I couldn’t be prouder of her!

    🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️06/14-194.4 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 192.5) This reflects a 2.2 lb gain overnight (restaurant food/travel) and a 3.2 lb gain over 3 days (again restaurants). Now I’ve got my work cut out for me! I was supposed to go to a Festival in town today with my son that we’ve managed to miss every year. Food trucks galore which would be hard to resist. At this point, I think I should skip it yet another year.

    My DGS made it through the emergency surgery late last night at 10:00 pm. It was a very long day and a long travel home. Not back until 1:00 am and no sleep last night with worry. His appendix had burst. Reports today show that he is doing well but they are having to use the drainage bag on the tummy so he will be in for 3-5 days now. What a trooper!

    @Skyleen75 Thanks for the well wishes for my DGS. He is doing better today. He said his bed is very comfortable and that the room is his own personal hotel room. He does point out, however, that it is not as pretty as his last hotel room (a real one) and that they do not have a pool. LOL

    6/14 - 166.6 - I completely forgot to weigh in yesterday but made up for it today. I was closer to maintenance calories yesterday and today my macros are off but I'm within deficit, so I'm happy. A tad bit behind on steps but I have some time still to make those up today. Overall, I'm doing well. I need to sit down and pre-log tomorrow's dinner so I can do my best to plan breakfast and lunch to allow for me to stay in deficit or, at worst, maintenance. I really can't be letting my weekends be free-for-alls if I want to see any kind of progress. I've had a small taste of progress these last 2 weeks or so and I'm not willing to let that taste go if I can help it at all!

    6/15 176.6 I’m guessing this reflects my poor choices for several days not just what I ate yesterday. My calories were A ok yesterday but I’m definitely feeling a bit bloated. My joints are all sore which is usually hormonal fluid retention. Perimenopause sure is fun for its unpredictable nature!

    Not exactly the number I wanted to see the morning of Father’s Day brunch. I’m taking all of the kids and dads out. As my father ages, I recognize how precious how ever many years we have left are. I’m also so lucky that my parents and in-laws have become family to each other over the years. We never have to choose sides and can bundle our families together.

    I’m already thinking about waffles. Tomorrow might be a DNW for the first time in a while.

    6/10 traveling home today. I may not weigh tomorrow… I need a few days to hydrate & get back to routine. My brain won’t be able to handle the shock. Denial is best here. Expecting a disappointing #… need the mindset to build momentum & face the challenge! 

    Had time to reflect the past week. 66 is NOT 56. Many thoughts to be distilled to a few basic priorities. 🚶‍♀️🏋️‍♂️💓🤸🏼🙆‍♀️💦. Excited for next steps. Morning routines = no negotiation. Using June & July to regroup & love on me. Lose 5lbs & gain muscle & mobility. Key relationships have been neglected too…. Mind. Body. Soul. Whole food as fuel. Ready… set… go!

    6/11 under ✅ 1200 cals, P:E = 1.4. Listened to Huberman podcasts & will change up my daily routine- should improve my sleep when implemented. He is quite technical/ scientific. A big change is coffee 90 min after waking - after morning walk. 🏋️‍♂️late morning. Walking 20-30 min after each meal. 80/20 rule for strength & endurance. (Any form of exercise). What I’m most pleased about is committing to a new nuance to my routine to change it up, to improve sleep & thus quality of life/ decision making (discipline!).  Let’s give it a try!

    6/12 ⚖️ 132.8lbs.  I can live with that- I guess. Push forward! cals <1200. PE= 1:1; 🥩120g. Really solid day yesterday! Thinking more bloat will drop today. 6/13 🚶‍♀️8k, good fuel. P:E 1.5. Solid day. Rain hindered walk. Worked around the house restoring order and calm (after trip, property sale & city hall). More today. 💪🏻. I have a challenge that when I wake before the sun comes up coffee is a non-negotiable … slept only 5.5 hrs last night - after a week of averaging 7.5 hrs. Sleep is key! As soon as the sun comes up, I’m ready to charge forward. 💦has been excellent! Today’s focus: 🚶‍♀️🏋️‍♂️⏱️

    @quiltingjaine I definitely agree, but my "bad" calories, were pretty bad so I did not expect any kindness from the scale; peanut butter by the spoon, Carmel cold brew M&M's by the multiple bag, chocolate chips intended for baking, and on. I can't remember what else. BUT, I will say that the sooner one stops the less any pounds seem to take hold. One can only do so much real damage in a couple days. :)

    06/14-194.4 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 192.5) This reflects a 2.2 lb gain overnight (restaurant food/travel) and a 3.2 lb gain over 3 days (again restaurants). Now I’ve got my work cut out for me! I was supposed to go to a Festival in town today with my son that we’ve managed to miss every year. Food trucks galore which would be hard to resist. At this point, I think I should skip it yet another year. My DGS made it through the emergency surgery late last night at 10:00 pm. It was a very long day and a long travel home. Not back until 1:00 am and no sleep last night with worry. His appendix had burst. Reports today show that he is doing well but they are having to use the drainage bag on the tummy so he will be in for 3-5 days now. What a trooper!

    🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️06/15-190.4 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 192.3) I know that I did not eat 11,000 extra calories over and beyong my 1400 allowance to gain 3.5 pounds in 72 hours. Now, I know that I did not burn 14,000 extra calories over the 1400 overnight to lose 4.0 pounds overnight. @quiltingjaine is absolutely right . It does matter WHERE the calories come from. I finally lost some water/sodium bloat apparently from the foods I ate to gain in the days prior. I haven’t had my prescribed water pill in weeks, but it looks like today I won’t need one either! Back on track with my real weight (I hope) and I am going to try to stay on schedule.
