Hi. I'm Jennifer. 41. I started again December 20th at 308lbs. My highest weight. My first goal is 200lbs. Ultimate goal is 155lbs.
Struggling the last few weeks. Weight keeps fluctuating and I can't seem to reach the 270s. Very frustrating.
May was a hard month Just because I stayed the same most of it until a few days ago. The plateaus mess with my head so much. But I m 34lbs down since December so that's great.

06/09 β191.0 β (Trend Weight β 191.5) I had a bit of a setback this week when we went out of town to the movies to celebrate the end of the school year with 2 of the DGC to see Lilo and Stitch. It was an excellent movie and the Golden Corral all-you-can-eat buffet afterward was a bit overboard. Iβm working it back down now with my low this past week being 190.4 . Iβm aching for those 180βs and plan on having an excellent week this week. I need to really focus on water, incorporating more actual exercise (not just movement) and keeping my snacks in line. Thatβs my goals for this week. Back to some good habits that should pay off.
πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπβ06/16-191.2 -β (Trend Weight: 192.1) Weight is pretty level though it went up significantly mid week. My 6 yr old DGS had his appendix burst and had to be transported by ambulance to a downstate childrenβs hospital for emergency surgery. Several days in the hospital already but he may be released tomorrow. This required IVβs and a fluid collection bag at the stomach afterward. Iβve had some travel due to this, restaurants and lots of sitting. The hospital is several hours away each way. It did put a dent in the week and the plans for my journey but the main thing is that he came out okay and is being a real trooper! Back on track starting today and overwhelmingly happy that I didnβt lose too much ground in the end. It looks like I will not make June goal which is very disappointing. At my age and with my health problems and medications I can usually only lose about 0.5 to 0.7 on a Very Good Week, so the numbers arenβt adding up. However, if I could touch the 180βs I would be thrilled, proud and relieved.

Still logging the extra calories. But not actually restricting myself. This is my child free week. Then I have both kids for a week before they go on a month vacation. That month I plan on actually having a dinner plan and eating something that is not leftovers. Before binging on everything in the cupboard.
Last week I managed to not eat cashews. But there were safari cookies in the break room so I think the cashews with all their magnesium probably would have been healthier.
Me and the kids have tried frisbeegolf. Not sure how those golf courses are in the rest of the world. But the one here is in the woods. I have waded in (marsh?) Wet green stuff that you might sink down to your knees in might not sink in.
I have seen quite an array of shrubs. And mosquito has feasted on me.

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two year have lost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hopped on this thread in January. I'm working on a buffer to make it so I never hit overweight again, but will be happy just to stay in the ideal BMI range the rest of my life. I weigh/check in on Wednesday and the end of the month.

πJune 4: 138.4 -Β Met all exercise goals, Under TDEE 1,704 calories, I started with my eight hour window again on June 1 - met two of the three days.
πJune 11: 137.2 -Β Met all exercise goals, Under TDEE a whopping 340 calories for the week. Was over four of the seven days, but made up for it the three days. I made my no eating after 8PM goal 6 of the seven days, and eight hour eating window five of the seven.
πJune 18: 137.8 -Β Really crazy week with the weight, up and down and up and down. But am still maintaining so happy with today's weigh in. Going on vacation in 40 days, so am switching to losing mode to give myself a buffer for my plans at the end of July.
Big NSV victory for me this week. I completed my soft 75 challenge. It was truly rewarding, and I enjoyed it tremendously. There was just one day I had alcohol during the 75 (+1) days. I allowed myself to drink only on social occasions and no more than once a week - but found that I would rather eat my calories instead of drink them - so just had a seltzer in a wine glass for the social stuff. I used one of the three pass days (forgot to read one day), so added a day to the end - 75 +1. I pondered on what to do next. Finally decided on three things:
- A mini 40 days and 40 night challenge (similar to soft 75). Just until we leave for vacation.
- π¦ Start each day with glass water, and 64 oz daily
- π Track everything and under weekly TDEE
- π² 45 Minute Workout Outside (I really liked this one, and the weather is warm)
- π Read 10 pages of any book (trying to finish Way of Kings - which is really long)
- π§Ή Clean 15 minutes daily
- π΄ No eating in the middle of the night
- I'm going to do the Couch to 5K challenge on the elliptical. I want to use it more, it's fantastic exercise, burns a lot of calories, and is good on my knees. I really can only go about five minutes before pooping out; hoping his will help with that.
- I would like to add a new state park every week to our morning walking routine. I would be nice to say that I hiked every Connecticut State park in my lifetime.

@TNgirl39 Yes, 34 lbs down since December is great, kudos! Keep at it. "Plateaus" are normal, in my experience I lose weight for a while and then I lose inches for a while (while staying at the same weight). So you might well notice your clothes fitting better even though the scale doesn't seem to be movingβ¦ Stay the course, and by the end of the year those 270's will be a distant memory for you π

πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ 06/23 β 188.4 β (Trend Weight β 191.5) It hasnβt been a perfect week, there was one very large event that was food focused that I attended. Who says no to Free, right? Anyway, I bounced back and got focused and back on track. REWARD, Cha-Ching, I have finally entered a new decade and am in the 180βs !!! I am so happy yaβll !!!! Of course, I am never comfortable or confident in the numbers of a new decade until I hit the 7. That means 187 point anything in this case. That is because I can easily fluctuate up or down several pounds due to water retention, hormones, TMI (potty) or a special event/weight gain. I am cautiously optimistic that Iβll get there soon. Lots of heat warnings out there now including here in Michigan. Stay cool and stay safe my friends! Have a wonderful week!

Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two year have lost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hopped on this thread in January. I'm working on a buffer to make it so I never hit overweight again, but will be happy just to stay in the ideal BMI range the rest of my life. I weigh/check in on Wednesday and the end of the month.

πJune 4: 138.4 -Β Met all exercise goals, Under TDEE 1,704 calories, I started with my eight hour window again on June 1 - met two of the three days.
πJune 11: 137.2 -Β Met all exercise goals, Under TDEE a whopping 340 calories for the week. Was over four of the seven days, but made up for it the three days. I made my no eating after 8PM goal 6 of the seven days, and eight hour eating window five of the seven.
πJune 18: 137.8 -Β Really crazy week with the weight, up and down and up and down. But am still maintaining so happy with today's weigh in. Going on vacation in 40 days, so am switching to losing mode to give myself a buffer for my plans at the end of July.
πJune 25: 138.6 - Tough week for me. First time in a very long time that I was over my weekly TDEE. I go over daily a lot, but usually make up for it during the week. This week over 1,200 calories for the week. In addition just met my sodium goal 3 of the seven days. So much for losing mode. I did meet all my exercise goals.

Anyway, I bounced back and got focused and back on track. REWARD, Cha-Ching, I have finally entered a new decade and am in the 180βs !!! I am so happy yaβll !!!! Of course, I am never comfortable or confident in the numbers of a new decade until I hit the 7. That means 187 point anything in this case. That is because I can easily fluctuate up or down several pounds due to water retention, hormones, TMI (potty) or a special event/weight gain. I am cautiously optimistic that Iβll get there soon. Lots of heat warnings out there now including here in Michigan. Stay cool and stay safe my friends! Have a wonderful week!
πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπ 06/30 β 189.0 β (Trend Weight β 190.5) Wow, did my legs fill with fluid by last night! It was a pretty perfect day otherwise. I know I am supposed to be taking a prescribed water pill due to heart issues but who has time to stay by the toilet to pee every 10 minutes (no exaggeration!)? I probably take it about twice per month feeling many times I donβt really need it. However, last night it was definitely pooling at my ankles and in my abdomen so I plan on taking it today. Perhaps that will make a difference on the scale tomorrow. Fluid is not fat so if I lose that I can get a better pic of where I really am. I really want that magical 7 (187 or less)!!! As Iβve mentioned before, I need that 3 lb buffer (on the 7) as I can go up very quickly with the littlest of effort. Iβll try to stay compliant today although I hit the floor hungry today from the minute I awoke. That usually means there was a weight loss and my body rebelling by getting overly hungry. I will try to choose foods wisely and stay on track. Hunger, be gone! Iβve enjoyed the past 3 months with you all and look very forward to the Summer Challenge for July, August and September! To have lost nearly 7 lbs in this current challenge is a big win to me. I am going to try something a little bit different next challenge. I'll put a note on the top of tomorrow's post explaining.
