    I hope July will be better than June. I lost 5 pounds overall last round, but only 0.2 pounds in June.

    My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

    I AM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW THIS TIME AROUND. MY GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE WILL BE 10 POUNDS WHICH IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK, EVEN GIVEN MY AGE, MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT SET ME BACK AND MY MEDICATIONS. I HAVE DIVIDED MY WEIGH-INS WHICH ARE A TOTAL OF 18 BY THE 10 POUNDS AND FIND THAT MY GOAL EACH WEEK IS TO LOSE 0.6 LBS IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT. I WILL ALSO FIGURE IT OUT BY THE MONTH. FOR EXAMPLE IN JULY 0.6 LBS X 6 (WEIGH-INS) = A GOAL OF A 3.6 LB LOSS. IF I GET BEHIND ON ANY GIVEN WEEK, I’VE ONLY MADE IT HARDER ON MYSELF AS I HAVE TO THEN CATCH UP. I KNOW IT’S A MIND GAME I’M PLAYING WITH MYSELF, BUT IT ALSO FEELS LIKE I’M NOT BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW. LET’S SEE HOW THIS GOES!

    🎠🎠🎠🎠🎠 07/01 –188.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 190.4) Well I was certainly hoping for a bigger drop than 0.2 but I guess slow progress is still progress. It was a very good dietary day filled with good choices and I worked out on the bike for 30 minutes (2 sessions of 15 minutes). Intentional exercise is something I really need to keep working in. Today is my son that lives at home and my first DGS’s birthdays. We will be going out to dinner out of town tonight. Dinner won’t be until about 7:30. I’ve been sticking to my guns and carefully choosing what I’m eating this afternoon. My son is turning 29 and my grandson 19.Good luck everyone this round. Thanks for sharing your journeys with me.

    Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two years have lost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hopped on this thread in January. I weigh/check in on Wednesdays and the end of the month.

    June Reflection

    Each Month I write a reflection on how the prior month went. I wasn’t going to do one of these this month, but changed my mind today. As I mentioned last month, I have been struggling with feeling successful about maintaining. I decided to cut myself some slack, and not fret so much about the scale. With that came big swings in the scale this month. A low of 136.8, a high of 139.8, and in the same week! But the good thing is that I didn’t go over my goal weight.

    On the Nutrition front – well over my limit quite a few days this month. But under for the month (1,506 cal). I did get back to weighing most things. Ate within my eight-hour window most days. A couple days of eating in the middle of the night, but better than last month.

    As always, no issues with the exercise. I met all my exercise goals. I tracked 262 miles (all steps) in June, year to date 1,544 miles on my 2,025 goal. According to my tracker, if I continue at this pace still on track for the end of August. June was my highest month of 2,025.

    I’m still loving VR Boxing/Combat and used it almost every day this month. I’m moving up in the ranks on FitXr!

    I finished the soft 75 challenge with one pass day (I gave myself three). I added a day at the end to make it a full 75 days. We started a mini 40 day and 40 night challenge until we leave for vacation – a lot simpler, but I have already had a pass day. I am on day 16!

    I’m working on the Couch to 5K program but using the Elliptical instead of running. I have never been able to be on for very long, and want to use it more than I do. Great exercise, and burns a lot of calories in a short time. It has been fun, I am on week three.

    I continue to work on the Fly Lady principles, and it has been working fantastically. My home is always ready for guests. The second time around, it has been a lot easier, 15-30 minutes of zone time, and another 15 minutes for my weekly chores. Moving zones around as I go this time around, to even things out a bit.

    I’m still reading The Way of Kings. Finally getting into it now that the soft 75 challenge is done (don’t have a nonfiction on my 40 days and 40 nights). The Hogwarts challenge is on summer camp, so put down the Harry Potter series for the summer. I also read Never Binge Again in June. Interesting concepts.

    Hi All, I am really looking forward to this challenge! I was on a roll the first half of the year, but Summer foods and relaxation took the wheel. Now that the holiday weekend is over, I am ready to get back on the wagon :) I have a cruise coming up in September, and would love to try to lose about 1 pound a week until then!

    🎠🎠🎠🎠🎠07/07 –189.4 - (Trend Weight: 190.5) Well, I am clearly up about half a pound from the 1st of the month, but this past week brought two birthdays in my family and a 4 day holiday weekend for my family too. So I mark this as life worth living, not too bad. Time to move forward however as I am still intent on trying my new goal plan. I also still want to feel a bit more comfortable in the new decade of the 180’s by hitting the magic number 7 (for me 187 or less). That gives me the cushion I need to fluctuate and still firmly be in the decade. Not feeling very confident yet over here! However, I am feeling determined!

    Hello I'm Darlene, retired, 64-year-old. Married (Greg), one adult daughter (Allyson), and one goldendoodle (Monty). I started my journey in January 2023, and over the last two years have lost 90 pounds. I got to my goal weight in the last quarter of 2024, and now tackling the maintenance phase. There aren't too many maintenance threads on MFP, so hopped on this thread in January.

    Went away for a girls overnight on Fri/Sat the casino and was off plan. Ate too much, too much salty food, a bottle of wine. When I got on the scale Sunday was over my goal weight, but luckily it quickly dropped back down. Missed most of my goals this week. I am back in full force. We leave for vacation on July 28, and I hope to lose a bit so that I have a buffer, would be nice to be under @deepwoodslady's magic "7".

    My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

    I AM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW THIS TIME AROUND. MY GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE WILL BE 10 POUNDS WHICH IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK, EVEN GIVEN MY AGE, MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT SET ME BACK AND MY MEDICATIONS. I HAVE DIVIDED MY WEIGH-INS WHICH ARE A TOTAL OF 18 BY THE 10 POUNDS AND FIND THAT MY GOAL EACH WEEK IS TO LOSE 0.6 LBS IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT. I WILL ALSO FIGURE IT OUT BY THE MONTH. FOR EXAMPLE IN JULY 0.6 LBS X 6 (WEIGH-INS) = A GOAL OF A 3.6 LB LOSS. IF I GET BEHIND ON ANY GIVEN WEEK, I’VE ONLY MADE IT HARDER ON MYSELF AS I HAVE TO THEN CATCH UP. I KNOW IT’S A MIND GAME I’M PLAYING WITH MYSELF, BUT IT ALSO FEELS LIKE I’M NOT BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW. LET’S SEE HOW THIS GOES!

    07/07 –189.4 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 190.5) Well, I am clearly up about half a pound from the 1st of the month, but this past week brought two birthdays in my family and a 4 day holiday weekend for my family too. So I mark this as life worth living, not too bad. Time to move forward however as I am still intent on trying my new goal plan. I also still want to feel a bit more comfortable in the new decade of the 180’s by hitting the magic number 7 (for me 187 or less). That gives me the cushion I need to fluctuate and still firmly be in the decade. Not feeling very confident yet over here! However, I am feeling determined!

    🎠🎠🎠🎠🎠 07/14—192.2 ❌ (Trend Weight – 191.2) 3.4 lbs up since two weeks ago on the 1st. I can’t really just blame the holiday or the two birthday celebrations for family as this week was worse than last. Time to take a very good look in the mirror as Michael would say. Time to change my ways.
