My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. I would like to lose a total of about 100 pounds and have been working on it for too many years (since 2018). I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full month’s account.

I AM GOING TO TRY SOMETHING NEW THIS TIME AROUND. MY GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE WILL BE 10 POUNDS WHICH IS NOT TOO MUCH TO ASK, EVEN GIVEN MY AGE, MY MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT SET ME BACK AND MY MEDICATIONS. I HAVE DIVIDED MY WEIGH-INS WHICH ARE A TOTAL OF 18 BY THE 10 POUNDS AND FIND THAT MY GOAL EACH WEEK IS TO LOSE 0.6 LBS IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT. I WILL ALSO FIGURE IT OUT BY THE MONTH. FOR EXAMPLE IN JULY 0.6 LBS X 6 (WEIGH-INS) = A GOAL OF A 3.6 LB LOSS. IF I GET BEHIND ON ANY GIVEN WEEK, I’VE ONLY MADE IT HARDER ON MYSELF AS I HAVE TO THEN CATCH UP. I KNOW IT’S A MIND GAME I’M PLAYING WITH MYSELF, BUT IT ALSO FEELS LIKE I’M NOT BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW. LET’S SEE HOW THIS GOES!

07/21 – 186.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 190.1) Back down after a pretty careful week of adding more intentional exercise, focusing on water consumption, even if still coming up a bit short and watching calories and carbs even closer. I did have one “bad day” when I went out of town with DS and 3 of my DGS’s to see Superman and eat at the Golden Corral (an all-you-can-eat buffet). But I managed to be mindful (for once) and that made bouncing back so much easier! I don’t think my body can keep on giving me these whooshes so I do believe that making my goal by 7/31 for July will be extremely difficult. However, the closer I can get to it, the less I have to make up for in August so I’m going for the Gold! Have a great week everyone! Remember that you are special, you are important and you matter!
🎠🎠🎠🎠🎠 07/28 – 185.0 ✅ (Trend Weight – 188.5) Right now I am below my monthly goal and my trend weight has went down tremendously. If I look too hard though, take it for granted in ANY way, it will all disappear like dust in the wind. I’m hoping this little experiment of mine will continue to work for me. So far, so good. Looking at my August goal is very, very scary. I can’t even IMAGINE in my WILDEST dreams weighing anywhere near 181. I’m getting a little scared of August but onward I go with a grateful heart. I hope to finish out July strong!

MFP starting weight 2/2011: 160.2 lbs Since then I’ve come & gone, started, stopped. Weight bounced around from 140-168 lbs. Wanting to be consistent to lose down to about 98 lbs & be healthier & stronger. (63F, & 4’11” or less & small boned—athlete in past but that was long ago). I was just diagnosed with Osteoporosis & I have hypothyroidism. I am joining in late, and I’ve started & stopped so much but once again—I am determined to stay in and keep up for the challenge this time around.

I am a bit late in joining this challenge, I just added a couple weight ins from Dr appts. I am also at the start of my journey and only recently started working on changing my diet with portion sizes and lowering my calorie intake. So I am not really sure what to do for goals and just decided on a couple lbs a week for now. (I am also working closely with my doctors and dietarian and they are fine with how things are progressing.)

I hate to end the month on an uptick weight that will probably go right back down in a matter of days with due diligence, but it is what it is I guess. I know I would have made goal otherwise since my best weight was 185.2 this week. Frustrating! However, I am very grateful for any losses I am showing so far and look very forward to next month and any continued progress I can make. See you there!

I HAVE DIVIDED MY WEIGH-INS WHICH ARE A TOTAL OF 18 BY THE 10 POUNDS AND FIND THAT MY GOAL EACH WEEK IS TO LOSE 0.6 LBS IN ORDER TO REACH MY GOAL WEIGHT. I WILL ALSO FIGURE IT OUT BY THE MONTH. FOR EXAMPLE IN JULY 0.6 LBS X 6 (WEIGH-INS) = A GOAL OF A 3.6 LB LOSS. IF I GET BEHIND ON ANY GIVEN WEEK, I’VE ONLY MADE IT HARDER ON MYSELF AS I HAVE TO THEN CATCH UP. THE SPECIFIC GOALS NUMBERS MAY CHANGE AS I GO ALONG SO THE MATH MAKES SENSE AND KEEPS IN LINE WITH MY 10 POUND LOSS GOAL. I KNOW IT’S A MIND GAME I’M PLAYING WITH MYSELF, BUT IT ALSO FEELS LIKE I’M NOT BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW. LET’S SEE HOW THIS GOES!

It’s a hefty goal but I feel I am on my way. Keeping my chin up there with my hopes. I know I can do better and this month I am attempting to prove that to myself. We have short summers in Northern Michigan and I really want to take advantage of August since this is the last of our guaranteed warm weather. Weather is an advantage and why wouldn’t I want to take advantage of that advantage? Fitness is so much easier for me and more versatile in good weather! I don’t care how many or how few calories I eat, if I don’t burn it off it lands on my hips. Looking forward to smaller sizes!

MFP starting weight 2/2011: 160.2 lbs Since then I’ve come & gone, started, stopped. Weight bounced around from 140-168 lbs. Wanting to be consistent to lose down to about 98 lbs & be healthier & stronger. (63F, & 4’11” or less & small boned—athlete in past but that was long ago). I was just diagnosed with Osteoporosis & I have hypothyroidism. I am joining in late, and I’ve started & stopped so much but once again—I am determined to stay in and keep up for the challenge this time around.

My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall. My highest weight was 253. ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️08/11 --181.6 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 185.6) I’ve done extremely well this week (with the exception of one ice cream day). Pre-logging. Healthier choices and minimal snacks. It does help that I have less desire for food or large meals in general during this extreme heat. If I could keep this up and finish out the month of August in the 170’s it would be wonderful.
