Today was a high protein day, chicken nuggets, steak, and two protein drinks. The rest was just raw veggies, 50/50 salad mix and of course my yummy tea.

😀 Cheryl, I read the message you posted on my wall. The wall is something I don't know anything about and I didn't know how to reply to you. I use this thread for all my communication. I have been putting one foot in front of the other and taking care of the things that need to be done and ignoring everything. Jake's adult children came up immediately and helped me with the initial shock. Daughter will be back for a visit soon.

😀 Pip, that boat was just what you needed at this sad time.

    Good Saturday,

Yes, those are tracker tags on my kitties. They worked okay, but I just got new ones that are GPS tracking. They aren't bothered by the. After Cali's stunt a few months ago I really like to know where they are.

    Pip-Hugs!!

Rocker shoes and progressive lenses....I prefer less between the soles of my feet and the ground. I don't mind heels, but there is something about the front of my foot and the ground. I have had progressives since I got glasses. I adapted well because of advice I was given. "Look with your nose". Meaning you point your nose the direction you are looking. I agree the fit is important too! My SIL only wears hers for reading.…why...because they are fitted to wear higher on her nose and she doesn't wear them there.

Speaking of sisters....mine is actually planning on spending the night with me!!!! I am so excited. It will be all Thursday evening in July, but I will take what I can get!

Like Lisa, I believe we have about 5 days with no rain coming up. We are in a heat warning tomorrow through Tuesday. Lots of watering....

    Machka- Hugs!

Better get productive.....really don't want to go to work today....oh well...

Make the best choices you can in the moment.

    Make someone smile today.

Be kind to yourself and others.

Be grateful that we have bodies that are healthy and mobile.

    Lots of love

Cali is truly an inspiration! Her short little legs had her traveling 6 mph!

Today was get the packing out of my nose day…. And I was hoping for it to be so much better than it was so today was a bit of a cry, feel a bit sorry for myself day, but I am pulling up my big girl panties and reminding myself how much I have. Tomorrow is a in person counseling appointment and a video call with the surgeon. Then Friday I have a friend’s adult child driving me down to take my mom to lunch. She is really worried and concerned about the situation and feels it is so unfair that in her older years her children are unable to take care of her.

The unpacked nose has gotten rid of the musty flavor everything had. Hip hip hooray, sugar still is tastless mush - hip hip hooray! It turns out that all of the packing could not be removed because some had broken down too much so for the next 8 weeks I have to flush my nose twice a day, something I have never done. And had no plans to do – but plans have just changed! I am very easily grossed out and always have know that a job in the medical world would NEVER be filled by me. But I will face this grossness and overcome!

    @GodMomKim

That reminds me of when I had my deviated septum fixed in 2020.

They packed my nose so much, I could hardly even breath out of my mouth! But that was only overnight. Some of the packing was removed the next day, but the rest remained for at least a week and became quite painful.

After it was removed, I had to flush my nose twice a day for several weeks … where you squirt water in on one side and it pours out the other (similar to a neti pot). At first I was a little freaked out but then I found it funny.

I hope you continue to heal well.

@LisaInArkansas … I'm like you with MRIs. I love them! They're a rare chance to take a nap in the middle of the day. They give me the earplugs, put the headphones on playing my choice of music, get me all comfortable … and I'm out. I'm amazed I don't twitch or anything … I just fall asleep and have a great 30 minute nap. I just wish they'd give me an extra 15 minutes in a darkened room so I can wake up slowly.

But like you, I can sleep just about anywhere.

I've dozed off during root canals, during various medical procedures, in waiting rooms, on the bus more times than I can count, in so many lectures, seminars, services, concerts, movies …

I've actually got to work to stay awake in many situations … like if I want to hear the whole lecture.
