    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

    CURRENT WEEK:

    Day 36—06/19— DNW 💠 - (Trend Weight: DNW) Today I feel bloated and just plain ol’ fat . I will work on keeping it a compliant day so that maybe I will feel more emotionally up to weighing tomorrow. At this point it just feels like weighing would do more harm than good and this challenge is designed to make things feel better, not worse. On another note:. A plumber is FINALLY coming today to check something out in the en suite bathroom so hopefully that will keep my mind busy and away from food and especially cravings that often come after a day of excess. UPDATE: DGS is doing great by the way. Oh, the resilience of children!

    🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊‍♀️🏊 Day 37—06/20—191.6 ❌ (Trend Weight – 192.2) Well, I honestly thought the scale would show much worse based on how I was feeling yesterday. I’m glad to see that I don’t have too much ground to make up after traveling. However, due to weighing in 2 days late, I now only have 5 more days to do it. I will definitely aim to make up as much lost ground as I possibly can. The only real obstacle I see is a social event on Saturday that will be pretty food focused. It is a very large gathering. This is where my typical failures come in as I’m so used to the same old foods in my little horse and buggy town that to have anything else available (and especially free) always becomes my downfall. I’m going to do my best as it is highly possible I could get too far behind on my 0.7 goals that it would be impossible to make it up in just one week. Keeping that in mind may help. We are expecting high 90’s temps with heat indexes well over 100. In Northern Michigan that is something our thick skin is not used to. I have the Central Air Unit sitting in my garage but I’m still not on the HVAC specialists schedule for install. Ugh! It’s going to be rough. High temps start tomorrow. Have a beautiful weekend!

    @frankwbrown What is the R2 = .356 on your graph?

    The short answer is: in regression analysis, R² is the coefficient of determination (aka "goodness of fit"). It's a measure of how well a statistical model can predict what is being modeled, in this case my weight.

    Trendlines can be based on any of a number of formula types: linear, logarithmic, exponential, power series, polynomial, moving average, etc. I chose the polynomial type of degree 2 based on what seemed to best fit my data so far. But now that I think about it, I realize if I want my trendline to have any predictive power whatsoever, I need to incorporate more variables. I can't elaborate at the moment, but I'm going to give this some thought and post about it later.

    @frankwbrown And here I thought I was a math geek! In an attempt to create more motivation for myself, I recently (2 days ago) added to 8 columns to my spreadsheet a series of ‘prediction’ weights based on losing .3 .5 .7 and 1 lb per week. One set dynamically updated for the current actual. The other set fixed at the June 15th actual. I was thinking afterward….‘I think I’m overthinking this’. But it was fun (I know you’d also think it was fun. Other people might go 🤦‍♀️). My intent is to see if I can beat the prediction based on the June 15th actual . It is all just mind games. I fully know what really matters is caloric deficit.

    Day 37—06/20—144.2 Yesterday was a good food day. I feel like going to Costco was my exercise. lol. I’ve noticed my body reacts slowly to sugar and carbs—taking 2–3 days to show on the scale—but responds quickly to high-sodium foods, usually by the next day. Have to keep that in mind.

    @deepwoodslady In Greater Toronto Area, we have 4 seasons too. In fact, for 5 day camping trip near the Lake Huron shores south of Tobermory, I have shorts, long pants, yoga pants, t-shirts, long sleeve shirts, merino wool, shirts and a few sweaters. You just never know what you’re going to get. Although, the forecast is for hot …. Not Arizona hot, but Southern Ontario hot low of 21 degrees C.
    I hope you get your AC installed soon. We have AC in our trailer. I’m sure it will be running all weekend long.
    Hopefully you have a basement and can get a little more cool down there.

    @Jon4189 mass vs weight is important. I subscribe to YouTube ‘Talkin’ with Docs’. It is two Orthopedic surgeons from Oakville. On any weight related videos Dr Paul Zazal always says it should be called mass management and not weight management.

    @plantpowered It was really windy here yesterday too. In fact, we kept having to lock our back door because it kept blowing open from the wind. Our dog was hilarious because she kept chasing the wind.

    I work alot too, so I can totally relate. My house really needs to be organized and decluttered, but it always ends up at the bottom of my priority list. I will need to tackle one room at a time or it just feels way too overwhelming.

    @Jon4189 This is interesting. I’ve been using a 7 day weigh-in average because I definitely fluctuate. You got my attention when you wrote about the 9 days of weigh-ins. How did you come by this? Now that I’ve got enough days in my spreadsheet, I might consider updating the formulas.

    Meh. I know what I need to do. I’m going to clean the refrigerator and restock it today. Today’s workouts will be foam-rolling and leisurely walks. My Apple Watch has a training load feature—it told me to cool it today.

    The thing about my food calories is this: I start to have these denial moments where I think I can get away with something. I log it. And the next day I get a lesson about denial🙃. I have to keep this table in the green if I want to progress, and denial isn’t going to get me there.

    The big picture: I have better habits now than I did before the challenge, so that’s today’s upside. Have a great day, everyone.

    Day 37—06/20—191.6 ❌ (Trend Weight – 192.2) Well, I honestly thought the scale would show much worse based on how I was feeling yesterday. I’m glad to see that I don’t have too much ground to make up after traveling. However, due to weighing in 2 days late, I now only have 5 more days to do it. I will definitely aim to make up as much lost ground as I possibly can. The only real obstacle I see is a social event on Saturday that will be pretty food focused. It is a very large gathering. This is where my typical failures come in as I’m so used to the same old foods in my little horse and buggy town that to have anything else available (and especially free) always becomes my downfall. I’m going to do my best as it is highly possible I could get too far behind on my 0.7 goals that it would be impossible to make it up in just one week. Keeping that in mind may help. We are expecting high 90’s temps with heat indexes well over 100. In Northern Michigan that is something our thick skin is not used to. I have the Central Air Unit sitting in my garage but I’m still not on the HVAC specialists schedule for install. Ugh! It’s going to be rough. High temps start tomorrow. Have a beautiful weekend!

Yesterday I managed to put it all together: CICO, lower carb, protein, fiber, water, sleep, TMI, Active movement. And of course, it works. The hard part is doing it. I am celebrating that I managed to be 100% on plan in every area for once. It’s not often I can put it all together. Today is a HUGE event centered around food. I will not be able to control the menu. Not the best timing…. However, I don’t know if there is anything served that could make me ruin this completely. I’m on cloud 9 right now ya’ll.

    My entire house is like a dressing room. Same here, 4 seasons. I have 2 extra bedrooms in my house, one has winter coats and the like, the other has sundresses.

    I do keep a box that I occasionally put stuff into. When it is full I take it to the thrift store. Mostly though I will do anything outside: shovel snow, work in the yard, clean my covered porch. That is my current project, taking one area apart at a time, cleaning the furniture, sweeping and mopping that area. I try to do a bit each day before work. 3' by 3' at a time. Next day it is dry and clean and I start to move stuff from the next area. Not that I have had any time to enjoy my porch yet, but when I finally get some time off I definitely will be sitting out there on clean chairs : - )

    Hi everyone.

    I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

    Week 1 Start Weight: 144.4

    Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

    Week 1 Actual Weight: 144.2- Hit 142.6 this week, the day before the end of our week, which was so close to my goal.

    Week 2 Goal: 142.4 - Trying for the same goal as last week

    Week 2 Actual Weight: 143.0 (Once in 100 days Ribs eaten, hit 142.2 this week)

    Day 36—06/19— 139.0 - Hummus with water crackers and other snacks like nuts in lieu of dinner last night. I think that I will do the same tonight, being that Wednesday and Thursday I work at 2 different jobs, so I am home later and not really interested in dinner. I like snacks better than food anyway lol.

    Day 37—06/20— 139.4 - This is my last weekend to work the 11-7 shifts at my primary job, then I go back to split shifts the following weekend and beyond. I was so bagged yesterday that I left my second job early last night, so I had an actual dinner. I don't plan on keeping that job longterm, just until September. When I get back from my holidays in October I will do shifts at my 3rd job (which will become my second job) instead. I know that I talk about work too much. I have been on 7 days a week instead of my usual 6 days per week, so that is pretty much all that I do…work. I do get up extra early in the mornings to try to accomplish a few things in the garden. House is a disaster, but that isn't going anywhere, I will eventually get to it…possibly lol. I will always find any reason to do stuff outside rather than clean my house. I did wash the floors a week ago, and haven't been home much to dirty them. Tiny win : - )

    Day 36—06/19— 169.4 - Yes, I expected to have an increase, but its back on program today. Had the chili cheese dogs with no buns for lunch. I plan on a salad for dinner. My daughter got me a ceramic lined water bottle that I had on my Amazon wishlist. I was thrilled! Just last night, I thought to myself about the metallic taste of my old water bottle, which will be washed and donated.

    Day 37—06/20— 169.4 - I had a bad breakfast.....2 slices of buttered toast with peach jam. Oh well....dinner will be a salad or a tuna salad sandwich. Depends on my mood. Feeling a little unsettled today.

    Day 38—06/21— 169.8 - Overslept so I had an early lunch...tuna sandwich. Not sure about dinner. I am beginning to think not taking insulin is affecting my weight loss. My daughter bought me an aquarium stand for a 10 gallon aquarium for my birthday. Now all I need is an aquarium to put on it. 😂

    Day 37—06/20—144.2 Yesterday was a good food day. I feel like going to Costco was my exercise. lol. I’ve noticed my body reacts slowly to sugar and carbs—taking 2–3 days to show on the scale—but responds quickly to high-sodium foods, usually by the next day. Have to keep that in mind.
