JFT W 7/2 ~ Overnight lows warmer than usual. I set very early alarm (it's all relative now that I don't work) but couldn't drag myself out of bed. By the time I did, temps mid-70s & climbing. No dog walk today.

Weight loss was minimal in June, but it has been steady. Just so much going on.
Stuff with mom is still crazy, but she isn't letting us help her in the way she needs. I understand going to assisted living is rarely somebody's first choice, but in this case it truly is the best option. I'm setting up a neuropsychological evaluation to get guardianship of her. If I do that, I can force her into assisted living. Hopefully, it doesn't really come to that. Our relationship is tense at best even now.
My oldest daughter worked her first shift as an RN yesterday and it went very well. I'm super proud of her.
Finally getting the first half of my sleep study done. I've been dealing with pretty severe exhaustion for quite some time now. I had always figured it was just my thyroid, but that has been under control for over a year and the exhaustion is still there. I sleep way too much, but never seem rested. This first step is an at home study that just tests for sleep apnea. If that returns nothing they will do an inpatient study where they look at the neurological function and restless legs and such. Hopefully I get some answers.
Anyway, I hope y'all have a good July 4th Holiday if you celebrate it.

- Managed to drag myself from bed early after 4 snooze alarms LOL. 69F when dog & I left for walk. Stuck to neighborhood cul-de-sacs bc mostly shady that time of morning & we could always turn for home if necessary. 73F by time we got home. 3.31 mi & doggo got drink at "doggie station" at one house. Happy dog & happy me.

Hope all my USA JFTers safely enjoyed their July 4th celebrations. Hubby and I had a quiet day at home. Early in the day, with the heat building, we both walked dog to the park and back for 1.28 miles. Later in the afternoon, we were sitting on the patio with doggo in yard, and neighbors a few doors down lit noisy fireworks, so it was indoors from then on. After dark, lots of fireworks shot off in the surrounding area, doggo went straight to her safe spot in the basement & hubby tucked her in for the night. Glad that's over, hoping people ran out of money to buy more fireworks.
JFT Sat. 7/5 ~ Another quiet day at home. Overnight low did not drop below 76(F), which is 16 above average for us. Glad we have central A/C & a well-insulated house. Heat & humidity building again, until probable thunderstorms tonight. No dog walk today (yesterday's short walk had her panting by the halfway point). 😊
- Up early to hit farmer's market 😁 not a very large crowd on holiday weekend and I was fine with that, but I'm sure my favorite vendors wished for more

Too much eating out this weekend - but it's social and necessary, right, to get together with people? I did really well at the BBQ yesterday. Today we're going to eat with some good friends of DH. I still feel out of my element though when I have to eat restaurant or party food. (My own food is pretty healthy). The big thing is that I stop… these things used to make me feel so badly about myself that I would just binge for days. Don't do that anymore!

I am having issue with being addicted to social media, YouTube, my phone and my computer again. I waisted my Friday evening and Saturday morning doing that. I didn't turn on my computer Saturday evening (I was to a wedding in the afternoon.) and spent Sunday afternoon staying off Facebook, but was on my computer as I was looking up craft ideas and decoration ideas for Vacation Bible School at my church. I get on there and loose all my motivation to do anything - including eating correctly (and not ordering in food) and running.

@angf0679 -I totally understand that same issue. I tend to be a research geek on loads of topics and I end up geeking out ending up down endless rabbit holes. Alot of it is health related, fitness or equine related topics but its definitely can interfere with getting things accomplished in my day. I also find I lose motivation and get more tired when I spend too much time doing this. Its so easy because there is so much information at our hands. I have wondered if setting a time for myself might work.. lol
I have had alot of quiet days at home over the holiday weekend and just trying to manage things here solo on the farm. As a result of all the activity, the scale has dropped 4 lbs since the 1st of the month. I hope it stays that way ! The hubby gets home tonight from Europe.
I did have one party I went to and ate a little bit of everything that looked appealing , including a fancy margherita and a yummy cake dessert thing. I thought for sure I'd see that in the scale but I guess my calories for the rest of the day were low enough maybe it didn't affect me.
I did force myself to leave the house /property yesterday afternoon and did a little shopping. Probably spent more than I should have but found a pair of rain pants for my upcoming trip to Iceland. They were on clearance but the only size they had was xl, which would have fit me months ago just fine . I bought them anyways , They are huge but they were such a great price . I will probably have to return them because they look so ridiculous. My mind has not shifted to think of myself in anything but an xl size..
I have not bought any new pants since the weight loss because I wanted to get to first big goal of 150 lbs (140 is my Ultimate weight goal but not sure if I can get there) and now I am within a few lbs of that.
I have to start thinking about maintenance and I have no idea what that is going to look like or how to be successful this time around

@angf0679 what VBS are you doing? Our church did True North this year. Hubby and I built a large rustic dog house for the pre school kids to play in. I used to run VBS, but it was soooo time intensive. We just tend to build "sets" these days. I'm artsy so it's more fun, less stress.
@HappyDonkey75 Great job on the continued loss. I bet you'll be happy to have your helpmate back home.
Really trying to focus on my reactions to life these days. I have just been letting things stress Tim and I the f out. To deal with things we go out. Of course then I eat & drink too much, exercise to little and then feel awful about myself. Goal this week is to exercise 3 days and to only go out with friends for planned events.

JFT M 7/7 ~ Tried to update using phone on patio, but old android with low battery doesn't want to. Had to come inside. It's a beautiful summer day. Hubby doesn't have to report for jury duty today or tomorrow, only W & R possible at this point.
- Hit alarm clock off & slept in a bit but temps not so hot today. Walked dog 4.13 mi 😁 happy dog & happy me. Calculated that I still need to walk 121 5K distances to complete the yearly challenge (177 days remaining). That should be easy to do, as long as I don't get lazy, or allow weather/schedule to derail me.
