My name is Donna. I am 65 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5β 5β tall. My highest weight was 253 in 2016. My MFP start weight was 235 in 2018. I weigh weekly but also on the 1st and last day of each month for a full monthβs account.

π π π π π 07/01 β188.8 β (Trend Weight β 190.4) Well I was certainly hoping for a bigger drop than 0.2 but I guess slow progress is still progress. It was a very good dietary day filled with good choices and I worked out on the bike for 30 minutes (2 sessions of 15 minutes). Intentional exercise is something I really need to keep working in. Today is my son that lives at home and my first DGSβs birthdays. We will be going out to dinner out of town tonight. Dinner wonβt be until about 7:30. Iβve been sticking to my guns and carefully choosing what Iβm eating this afternoon. My son is turning 29 and my grandson 19.Good luck everyone this round. Thanks for sharing your journeys with me. Scale is up today but I had a heavy meal with alcoholic beverages late last night; so I assume I should clear most that over the next few days.
Today I declared my "Independence from Alcohol"! I've tried this before, but this time, I'm going to make it stick! Empty calories? NO nutrition? Negative impact on blood pressure and other health measurements? Expensive? Who needs it? Not me! This one small change should make consistently losing one or more pounds per week much easier. So here I go!

Happy Independence day for those who celebrate. I was a little disappointed in myself today. It's my birthday also and my daughter-in-law made a cake. I couldn't say no. She gave me the whole cake and made one for my grandson whose birthday is today also. I am shaking the feeling and ready to continue on. I hope everyone is enjoying the day and will have a happy 4th evening.

August 2:Total loss for July: I was gone for a few weeks rafting the Alsek River through southern Yukon Territory, northern British Columbia, and Alaska. It was stunning. I gained a few pounds while I was away. We had far more food than we needed, and we burned all the leftovers in the fire. I sustained an injury, so I couldn't row off the calories. I still did chores. Now back to the grind. I was away from my scale from 14 June 14 until 2 July. Oddly, my weight appears unchanged from mid-June, but that is an artifact of how my averaging works; I gained a few pounds.
I'm now down 2.6 pounds for the year.
Keep sticking to it.

A great week. I have managed to stay clear of the nuts in the break room.
Not eaten over my calories once this week. Fitbit and mfp numbers have me calculating I should have lost 0.8 kg
But as suspected I must have carried massive amounts of water. So I have lost 2.9 kg. Which of course gives me a nice mental boost. But also means I must be careful of getting complacent or disappointed when next week doesn't go as well.

π₯π₯π₯ 07/06-DNW π - (Trend Weight: DNW) Our BBQ celebration for Independence Day was a day late (yesterday) but not a dollar short, as they say. Plenty of food. Too much sitting. Someone should have brought the corn hole game! I need at least a one day buffer from the scale so I may come back in a day or two when the dust settles and see where I am really at. I know it will be an increase no matter what. Afterall, I can feel the tightness in my shorts. But hopefully it will be something that doesnβt stick around too long. I will strive for today to be extra good so Iβll be off to a good start. DD and DGS left early today so that will help for sure. I will also try to get in some exercise. Rain today so it will all be indoors.

I hope July goes better than June as far as mobility. I had major knee and back pain issues in June and my walking etc was very limited. Now things are more normal and I hope to get out and move more. I have 8 lbs left to my goal wt which will be -73 lbs when I get there in hopefully late august. My goal for July is -1.0 lb per week.
