Ah ... so illegal then.
No, I would not have tried it. I don't have those sorts of connections.

Machka - CBD, primarily from hemp plants, is legal in the US. It contains less than .3 THC. CBD (or cannabidiol) does not have the intoxicating effects of marijuana. It is available on line and in regular stores.

Lisa - (granny square queen😁) - your front yard looks great, so clean and tidy. Makes a big difference and what a nice feeling of satisfaction when you look toward the road now. Interesting article!
Pip - Happy Birthday to Kirby! That ice house must be nice relief when the weather gets hot. So nice to see Yogi there with you.😉
Heather - looks like you and John had a nice dinner out, you looked very pretty in that outfit. The Bose earphones sound wonderful.
Tracey - you rubbed CBD cream on your feet and it helped your back? Cute comparison photos of Jonah. Eyeglass lense prices are horrible. Many years ago I was able to get the prescription from the optometrist and go to a cut-rate "lenscrafter" type place which really brought the price down. I don't know if they exist anymore. I would love to have been at your "Get to Know You" presentation. I am fascinated by people's stories.
Tina - have a great time! We wouldn't mind seeing some photos if you get a chance. 😉Sorry about the seat thumper.
Michele - my back problem was diagnosed via X-Rays. They could see disc compression and the space in the facet joints narrowing (hypertrophy) from arthritis, so nerves get pinched.
Many thanks to everyone for their anti-inflammatory input. I'm compiling a list of things to ask Dr. Lisa about, and your experiences help me immensely.
CBD - Machka - it's made from hemp and has a tiny percentage of THC which makes it legal. I just remembered that part of my DH's regiment included products from the "420" store and since I was the shopper, I tried to pick products higher in CBD for his RA pain, especially when he had flares. I remember they were expensive though. Did they contribute to his memory loss? On the flip side, however, did they contribute to his absence of anger/combativeness as his memory waned? So many variables, it's hard to say. He was manageable up until the very end as far as being able to feed himself, toileting, etc. His mother had Alzheimer's and lingered for years.
T's FIL - The family had a meeting with the hospital doc yesterday, and he is OK'd to go to a staffed place. They were able to find a care home in town that has room for him. This situation sounds very similar to Debbie's MIL. It will be interesting to see if he likes it and if they'll be able to handle him. T just sent me a quick message about it last night and will fill me in on the details when she gets a chance.
I was on the go yesterday morning then mowed. Will finish up that job today while it's still cool. Looks like a couple days in the mid-high 90F coming up next week. I'll need to set up a cooling station for the hens.
Make it a wonderful day!

Morning, my dears… another sunny day on tap in Arkansas. Our thermometer said 110 yesterday at 5 p.m. when Corey got home, but once it's past 80, it doesn't even matter, I just stay inside.
Machka - No anti-inflammatories here, either. No CBD, either. Tried a sample pack of gelcaps and lotions and it did nothing for me, so gave up on it. It seems to be legal as a prescription in your neck of the woods, but not for private purchase, I think. Could be wrong. The person with the foot in my chair would have gotten a pinch and a shove from me, too! Well done!
Tina - enjoy your trip!
Heather - Couldn't deal with those temps in London or anywhere else, but to be out in them for hours on end is a hard "no!" Hope they have a first aid tent set up! I'm still looking to replace my Samsung noise-canceling earbuds, but they're only available on the refurbish markets, and those give me pause. Far too expensive for my budget for the new ones!
Rebecca - So pleased to see your progress. Are you getting that same sense of progress from how your clothes fit? Enjoy every moment of the journey! After all our years of struggling, to watch the scale begin to go the down direction over an extended period of time is kinda magical.
Terri - There's a "JAYG" or "join-as-you-go" technique that is just more crochet that I've taken to like a duck to water. Always avoided it in years past, but found examples on YouTube (of course! My home away from home…🤣🐱😂) that made it easy. Old dogs can learn new tricks... 😂
Tracey - Jonah's such a charmer when he smiles! With my recently obtained insurance, I got my glasses for about a third of that, but that would have been the price, combined with the exam, if I hadn't had insurance. It's kind of a racket. Apparently, in BC, you can get cheap glasses, but that's an awfully long way to travel! Oddly enough, my new glasses look a bit like those, but without the tint. I'll take a picture once they're in. I wanted large lenses and thin rims. Been wearing the dark hornrims forever.
Mo - I would have been with you, inside the restaurant at the first wasp! Wishing your DH much luck on the job search. I saw advice this morning saying use AI to tune up your resume. Might be an interesting exercise.
Allie - Condolences on the old gentleman's passing.
Will get the sheets out on the line before it gets too hot, and then back to working in the back bedroom!
Hope it's a grand day…
Later, y'all…
Love,

I did a lot of little jobs this morning. Dead heading and watering our geranium, filling the bird's water bowl, a delicates wash, hanging it up, opening my new hair dryer box and testing the dryer, prepping the mushroom risotto, getting out my fake dahlias and arranging them, binning my gerberas, which have lasted two weeks in the heat, putting laundry away, etc etc. I texted support to both G and L. L was on the train on the way to London. Seemed pretty calm, but tomorrow will be testing. They are forecasting 32° in the shade. G has friends visiting, which throws her into high anxiety and over planning.
I am going to have a quiet afternoon. ;-)

😀 Groomer came yesterday and said that the dogs are doing better with the bathing and hair dryer and trimming and nail trimming. She is a lovely woman who comes in a van all fitted out as a grooming salon. It is pricey and I give her a big tip, but having her come here is such a joy for all us, that it's worth it.
😀 Heather, I'm with you on not wanting to travel far and be in the heat for a concert. You have plenty of lovely adventures that are joyous, not painful.
😀 I got my eye exam and glasses at Costco. The exam was comprehensive and was covered by Medicare but I still had the deductible to pay. The whole thing cost just under $400.00 including the frames I wanted, Transitions (the lenses that turn dark in the sunlight) and progressive bifocals.
😀 I've been working on my knitted blanket in the mornings while it's still cool. It's nearly finished. When I start the new one, it will be small enough for awhile to not be too warm on my lap all day.

It's illegal in Australia.
I might be able to get a prescription for it from my doctor ... maybe ... if I were able to convince my doctor that it is my last option.
But then I would have to pay for it and what little information I was able to find indicates a very small quantity runs $60-$100.
I think I would rather run my feet under hot water ... hot water can be quite effective. I do that almost every morning.

Lisa, yes! My tee shirts don't pull as much and even my undies feel more comfortable. My pants are really droopy butted, but the next size seems to constricting. So on times when I do wear the smaller ones, its not for a long time, not a whole day!
Getting my medication yesterday seemed surreal, as I got 3 boxes. Looking at the boxes that's potentially 15-20 lbs of loss that it will help me be rid of. I am so grateful! I don't want to mess up this opportunity.🤗💖

It was in Washington State at one of the head shops. I actually bought it for my mom's joint pain. It worked better than other things. (She refused opioids.) We've all used it at one time or another. I'm a believer. I like that it's a roll on stick. I don't have to get it on my hands.

😀 One of the songs on my YouTube playlist is the theme song from the TV show "Cheers" I never watched the show but I love the song and the message about going somewhere where everybody knows your name and your troubles are all the same. That's us here on this thread.
😀 Rebecca, one of my happiest moments on my weight loss journey was the day I realized that my undies fit better. Congrats to you. If it works, don't fix it.
🐾🐕😀 The groomer came yesterday. 🌞

Just realized this morning that I missed reading and talking to you ladies 2 days in a row! Skimmed to catch up. Ruidoso, NM is getting extreme flooding. A couple years ago, that area experienced a large fire then a flood right after that. This flood is downtown and even houses are floating down the road. Devastating. The news said 2 small children died in the flood so far. The area is about 75 miles away from me in the mountains.
I'm so very tired today. Don't know why. Slept well last night. I'll blame it on old age…..
3 Thoughts for today:
Where do you keep all your Dad jokes?
In a da-da base!
I gave my handyman a to-do list, but he only did jobs 1, 3, and 5.
Turns out he only does odd jobs!
Where do rainbows go when they've been bad?
To prism, so they have time to reflect on what they've done.

Going to be a long day- Insomnia last night. Finally got to sleep around 2 Am-got woken up early, just after 8 with the neighbors tearing up their driveway with a jack hammer and skid steer- it would hammer hammer hammer then beep beep beep backing up and do the hammering again. They are still working on it now but most of the hammering has stopped.
Glad dh is a sound sleeper- he can sleep through that easily. Plus he was up until around 2 am so will sleep another hour or so I am guessing.Have my daycare girl today then off tomorrow(mom switched days, well, work switched days on her so I had her yesterday). I have a few projects for her to pick from- need to get her out in the back to plant her potatoes and she can water the rest of the bottom garden. Also have a few painting options to pick from. She is almost 9 but has very little patience at all. Bought a cute kit that uses little plastic balls that you put in a tray to make a design then spray with water and it sticks together- kind of like the Perler beads but no hot iron, just water. Says ages 6 and up. She got too frustrated with it-said she has too much stress! Told her she doesn't have much stress at all.
Dh will be gone for the weekend. I plan on getting a few things on my list done and NOT leaving the house at all for the whole weekend. Looking forward to that. Want to get some sewing done-have blouses to make for a friend- have had the fabric since like Christmas.

not sure about that exact one but Amazon has many to pick from. We even ordered CBD oil to give to our cat when he was having seizures. It really was amazing how well it worked. We were able to just give him that every day for a week and then start up again when he had another seizure. We were able to have him two extra years and it was really cheap to get through them. Like $20 for a bottle that lasted months. He did end up having a massive seizure(non stop for well over an hour) and passed away in my arms but, CBD gave him a good quality of life for those 2 yrs
One of dh's co-workers used to make and sell a CBD cream that my mom and a few others used and said it worked great.
She moved from a house to an apartment so, because of the smell, she doesnt make it anymore3 -

My friend G got through the visit well and took her friends out for poshish lunch by the sea. The wife was hurrying because they had to catch their ferry to Spain, and she tripped and fell. She has scrapes and bruises, a cut lip, and two chipped teeth. They still caught their ferry and will be camping through France. They are in their late 70s. Of course G feels guilty, but she knows it was not her fault. I have reiterated that. These things do happen. So very annoying though. I suppose she was lucky she didn't break some bone, but front teeth are expensive!
John's hat is arriving tomorrow, as are my headphones. They were meant to be coming on Sunday. It annoys me when they switch things around, as the headphones have to be signed for. So you arrange your life accordingly. Grrrr! As it happens, we may now be able to go to the park to watch Bea sing at the fiesta.

Hello, my chickens…,
Got a few things done this morning, laundry out on the line and back in, folded and put away, got the three doors that were removable painted on one side, and they are drying and curing outside in the carport, letting that first few coats harden so I can turn them over and paint the other side without marking up the painted surfaces… Got the rest of the first run of mud and tape done in the back. That will be ready to sand, finally, tomorrow, then touch up as necessary and re-sand on Saturday morning for painting.
This is WEEKS of me mudding and taping a little bit at a time, as my energy will allow, and with one side painted on the three doors - the louvered one is for the water heater closet in the hallway. All the white smears on the walls are nail holes and dings with sheetrock mud on them. Just as effective as putty. Better, actually. The doors will sit in the carport until the weekend, when I can turn them over onto rails that I'll pad out with rags or old towels, and be painted on the other side.
So… been sitting down in the air conditioning since noon after a shower and then some lunch. Figured I'd drop back by. Time for a little more crochet and rabbit holes until Corey gets home for dinner.
Later, my dears,
Love,

Today was a lay low day..tomorrow morning watching Miles for a bit

Today I bought some veggie straws, and though I could have 20 (1/2 of a serving) I think I had 40! Deciding those are pretty dangerous to buy! Way too snacky! I will plan out 40 mid week.
Today was a great sandwich with my keto bread, turkey, slice of tomato, relish, cheese, and clover sprouts. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
tomorrow is steak in a protein tortilla.
I was extra tired after my walking this morning. I was in a lower gear at the commissary, but got it done. My injection went well, no issues.

Machka - CBD is a product of a plant that’s legal here now. It’s perfectly natural and really helps.
It was sold here long before it became legal. I looked it up for Australia and it can be prescribed there.Barbara - Prayers for your nephew and his wife.
Mo - how old is your son? Isn’t an internship to mentor the intern too?Good luck to your DH.
Flea - it does smell funky at first, but it doesn’t smell for long once it’s put on. My doctor and PT both recommended it.
Annie - what about having pants downstairs for your dad, or a robe.
Lanette - I asked Machka if she had tried it on her feet. I used it on my back. I did use it on my plantar fasciitis and it helped too.I too love people’s stories.
Many of our residents families bring it for them for pain relief.
It’s fortunate that T’a FIL could get into a place so quickly.Lisa - I am so dreading my new glasses cost, but I think $500 will be covered with our benefits.
I so miss the smell of bedding that was hung outside.
Have you seen the painters triangle stands? They came in so handy when I was painting double sided things last year.Barbie - my glasses are progressive with three prescriptions. I also pay for the type of lens that doesn’t make my eyes look huge! It’s an extra cost, but I feel it’s very worth it. I suffered with those magnified eyes all through school and think this technology is worth the cost.
I understand that most adults wouldn’t tease me for my coke bottle glasses but that’s a source of worry for me.
I bet a lot of people and their furry family members appreciate that travel groomer.Funny - I had the Cheers song running in my head the other day. What a great analogy.
Rebecca - I had someone tell me once that 10lbs is a pants size. I don’t know that I ever believed her, but a droopy butt always meant a new size was coming for me.
Debbie - I hope you really enjoy your weekend alone. I would love one of those.
Pip - Happy birthday to Kirby.
Heather - I hope everything arrives early Saturday and doesn’t mess with your routines.
I had ceramics tonight, nice to see everyone.
I surprised Rodger today and asked if he was interested in going to the NASCAR race this weekend. It’s the Canadian circuit, not nearly as big as the American one but it’s fun just the same.I’m hoping I can leave work a bit early tomorrow because it’s tomorrow evening and Saturday.Tracey in Edmonton

It’s just so much easier to do hard things that I like than those I don’t. Used to struggle to make myself go to Classic Fit class at the gym. It is no problem to go to Chair Yoga at the Grange and I always feel better afterwards. What a difference the teacher makes!
Heather 32C? Lanette 90F? Lisa 110F? So thankful for our trees, shade and afternoon ocean breeze. Only 3 or so 90F days a year. Joe complains when it hits 75, I’m good for another 10 degrees, but then that’s it!
Annie sounds like the stairs more than memory are the root of the pants issue?
Rebecca hooray for droopy butt pants!!!
Barbie love the pics! Wish we had a mobile groomer here. The newest groomer here does Mooch and Tumble, but has a 50 lb limit. Shadow (65 lbs) has never been groomed other than nail trims. Found a gal who will take her tomorrow afternoon. Fingers X’d, as she has some nasty mats behind her ears that I haven’t been able to snip.
Tracey Thank you. Good idea for Annie’s pa to have downstairs pants and robe. Enjoy your Rodger/Nascar outing.
Action for happiness
1-check out chair yoga
2-can’t eliminate sugar yet, but can reduce by substituting smokehouse almonds for the dark chocolate covered ones I ate yesterday ;}
3-ask for help let T drive to lunch
4-looking forward to Highland Games in August with goddaughter
5-basics, substitute iced tea for Coca Cola. 10 mins BB&B/PT, go to bed on time.
6-pause, breathe, feel your feet firmly on the ground…
7-mood shift: line dance class
8-wanted (not must or should) to do morning exercise to keep trend growing.
9-perspective: don’t stress over line dance bpm spreadsheet details. How many actually use?
10-v. worried about nephew but thankful can share that with you all.Time to snooze.
Later, lighter, lovelies!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMODJuly focus: Just one thing from the OMG room. Really.
2025: Chose NOW: to move more than yesterday (see action plan), fuel better than yesterday (hold that after dinner sweet down to two pieces of dark chocolate max), open heart and mind before mouth7 -
Barbara - we are lucky too, here on the coast. Today, it will be max 24°C in Hove . L's London temperature in Hyde Park today is 32° in the shade, and there is very little shade. I must say, I'm a bit worried about her, although she has always loved the sun. There are water points around, and a First Aid tent.
Loads of deliveries today! I had to write it all down last night to get my head straight. Then they changed another delivery to today! At least now all the signatures are on the same day. I hope John likes his hat! 🤠
Going to wash my hair and try out my new hairdryer. 👱♀️
