One way I am trying to reduce oxalate is by only having fewer oxalate foods in my meals. An example is I had a salad for lunch that would usually add cashews. Since it already had a small amount of avocado and fresh tomatoes no cashews. If I didn't put on the avocado I I could have had a few cashews. So I am still eating plenty and variety I just trying to switch out from foods with less oxalate. Instead of a half a bar of chocolate only a quarter per day. I don't look at it as a strict diet rather a diet that fits me to become healthier.

I am still trying to figure out how not to get so dehydrated at night. I think that is the root of my leg cramping. Ideas…

    Carol,

I have never bought eyeliner in my entire life!😁😂🙃. I think there would be major problems if ever I used some! Drives my eldest sister crazy because she's always trying to put something on me, before we go out somewhere. "Let me put some blush on you, or here you need mascara"!! I sometimes flee, but most of the time I let her do it. Its just too tiring to argue!😂

    Machka,

I will read the manuals etc and maybe drive in an empty parking lot so at least I know what do to. My knee jerk reaction if anything happened to husband is to just sell the car, but that's not reality. I need to be more brave about it all.

Rebecca - I'm really interested to see what maintenance will be like for you - I'm so pleased that this is working for you in happy ways you didn't expect. I can already see the weight loss in your face. You should be proud of yourself, and I'm glad you are. It's a massive change to go through.

Tracey - Love seeing that picture of you and Rodger. Such fresh-faced youngsters, with no idea what life would hold in store…

Allie - I'm SO glad the cousins are being good to you. You deserve family that is happy to see you and doesn't want anything from you.

Heather - So sorry you're ill. Hope it eases off quickly, and isn't contagious.

Lanette - Corey's sun room is my favorite place - watching the fireflies at dusk, the hummingbirds visiting the feeder or the blooms just below them, the cardinals and chickadees, the deer—especially when the persimmons ripen and get sweet - they love them. Every evening the woodchuck that lives under the red shed, comes out to hunt whatever woodchucks hunt, and Egg is always and forever hunting bugs and stalking the woodchuck. It's twice her size and at least as fast, so it pretty much just ignores her! I'm so glad you have neighbors you enjoy and trust.

Lovely relaxed Sunday, have been sitting crocheting, watching Sorted channel on YouTube, there's 15 years, literally hundreds and most are quite fun. Plus other forays into the Internet, of course. And texting with my daughter and friends, and just truly enjoying my day.

Tomorrow is PT and a stop to pick up some paint for the back bedroom. Not too happy with the paint that I've got, so will get something different.

Just finished my PT exercises for my shoulder, and Corey has a meatloaf baking. I seldom eat meatloaf, and this will probably be no exception. I'll probably just have another ham sandwich, like the one I had for breakfast. I've been on a ham sandwich kick lately.

    There are worse things.

    Later, my dears,

Did a Cardio Core Express DVD then a yoga for beginners DVD. Then took Ganon for a short walk around the block

pip – I thought you already had her! If you do, she’ll be one of the best taken care of dogs this side of the Atlantic

Rebecca – my first encounter with a car that shut off was when I visited my friend in Switzerland

I think I forgot to clear glaze two of the tires on my ceramic woody, so I asked the gal in charge if I did, would she glaze it for me and refire it.

    Heather – feel better fast

Annie – have fun with your sister

Carol – last night they talked to us about staying downstairs. Changed their minds AGAIN. Last time it was upstairs. The only thing I’m a bit concerned about is planning dinners. I like to plan at least a few days ahead so I make sure I have all the ingredients, I really don’t like running to the store every day because I forgot something. Jess likes to go by the seat of her pants (plan at the last minute). So we shall see how that works. Otherwise, I think everything will work out.

Went to breakfast at First Watch. Truthfully, it is good but to me high priced. But I know Colby likes it. They left and I cut the grass then went in the pool then to WalMart had dinner then took Ganon for a walk around the block.

Rebecca – you said it so well regarding the “participation” awards. That’s how I feel. It’s really not giving the kids a taste of what life is like.

Last night Jess and Colby talked to us about them staying downstairs. Honestly, that’s what I’ve been proposing all along! I do hope they do it because I do believe that’s in their best interest. It would give Colby the most room for his work. In a week the movers will be here...doesn’t seem that long. I do need to talk to my neighbor to make sure it’s OK with her (I’m sure it will be) that the moving van be in their driveway and they use their handtruck to bring things into our basement. The reason they can’t drive right up to the door is because then the truck would be on the septic and the drainage field.

Took a shower, now ready for bed.

I appreciate your encouragement! I do weigh myself every day, but just trying to see the ebb and flow of how this medicine shows up on the scale. After dose day I usually do a hiccup in weight, then a loss. Its usually on a day I have eaten on the high end surprisingly. To have this nice relationship with my scale, as a helper and not the spawn of Satan sitting on the bathroom floor is refreshing too.😁

I love that kind of meal, it has a careful, mindful approach, and it harkens back to our hunt and gatherers lifestyle. It makes me smile to put healthy items on the counter, and know that these things when chopped, steamed or baked with be my fuel for the day. I remember watching a BBC program that would pile a days worth of food on a table as a visual for the people highlighted on the show. It was pretty horrendous! Then show them how much sugar they consumed in a year like a huge pile. My pile these days would be pretty and something I can be proud to show people.

    I still use a microwave though🙃

Oh, so glad you are feeling better! The positive side of being healthy is that when you do feel under the weather you kick it pretty fast.💖👍🏼

Enjoy your day, but pace yourself!😁
