@pridesabtch - What a crazy and scary story about your mom. I'm sorry you and she had to go through that. So glad the intruders left peacefully at least.

cschmitz110515- I missed your recommendation on the calm app. I used to have it actually . I need something. I might redownload it again

@pridesabtch- sorry about the job not being what you hoped and not working out but there is something else out there for you that is a better fit. How scary about what happened with your mom. I am glad they left peacefully and you got the door locks changed.

JFT

Low energy day and its late so I am not going to post much.

Got through my work day with more frustrations

No workout but did ok in the food dept

Randomly found a great deal on FB marketplace for an EZ curl bar and some weights to go with it. I have been wanting to get a straight bar and a curl bar for some time but didn't want to pay the brand new price. So it was a nice little add to the home gym.

Heard from a neighbor that there is a sow and cub bear hanging around the area and tonight I happened to be outside covering the pool and heard a fawn cry in obvious distress just behind our house in the forested areas. I hiked up there to see , I couldn't just not try to help (probably not a smart move) if there was something I could do. I could not hear it anymore and could not find anything. I was really upset. My hubby was upset with me hiking up there by myself with the news of the bear around so he came after me. By then I had already hiked around in the dark woods for 20 minutes or so with no evidence or clues as to what could have happened. We have two sets of twins fawns here and another single fawn and now I probably won't be able to sleep worried about the poor things. This is just who I am . Animal lover to nth degree. I have saved countless animals over the course of my life .

So that was my evening. Tomorrow is another day and I will just pray that I see all sets of mama's and babies as expected.

Missed working out again but I am getting up early tomorrow and doing it. I am so mad at myself but the day got away from me with work and then I got busy after work doing some last minute clean up of the house before my sister gets here.

JFT Sunday

Airport pick up tomorrow , then we will pick up the cake for the family dinner on Sunday and grab a few other things at the store for her. I have a few things to do tomorrow like mow the back yard. The other half didn't get to it before he left which annoyed me. I really despise mowing . The yard is not flat or big enough to warrant getting the riding mower out so I have to hand mow it. It takes me an hour.

@pridesabtch That was a scary story about your mom & her visitors. Glad things got resolved peacefully and locks have been changes. Sorry the job interviews haven't had better results.

@HappyDonkey75 You have so much going on right now! Hope you get everything with the animals sorted. Enjoy all your family time!

Late to post, and missed yesterday with lots of stuff done around the house after a good dog walk, then went to pick up my race packet for today. Green Bay Packers have a 5K that coincides with the start of training camp. It finishes with a lap on the track inside Lambeau Field, after coming out through the players tunnel. But DO NOT touch the grass! I've walked in every one since inception 15 years (?) ago. It was very humid this morning, which I never like anyway, and isn't great for the arthritis in my knees. I was dripping by the end, but I wasn't the only one. I enjoyed the event anyways. Always a treat to see myself on the Jumbotron as I walk on the track (there's a camera set up in the north end zone). Ta-da!

JFT 7/19 Sat.

• Walked in Packers 5K ⭐️ chip time 51:23 & ave. pace 16:35 not my fastest ~ sat inside stadium after to watch others & cool down & was grateful for the very slightest breeze that finally happened
• Farmers market 😁 Noticed more than a couple of 5K shirts there besides my own. I was almost done shopping when caught in brief rain shower & 2 min. downpour. Thanks to the kind vendors who allowed those without umbrellas to shelter under their canopies.
• OT exercises / nap?
• No food or liquids before race / gulp of Gatorade at last water station, banana, mini cookie & string cheese after / supper? I'm pretty tired with my early start & may not cook / 80 oz. water / limit snacks & sweets ~ with rain at farmers market, the "food court" section emptied temporarily, allowing me to try a vendor that always had a long line otherwise (I rarely eat in the food court due to lines LOL) ~ tried their chicken eggroll & fried rice = yum / log all food to best ability / net calories zero
• Call Mom / find card for D&S wedding in 2 weeks, I know bought one / find card for PZ bday when we meet for lunch tomorrow / anything else is bonus
• Shower before bed / set alarm for 9:00 church

Last interview was this morning. It went well. I should know within the next week or two whether or not I get the job. The other job I didn't get was a long shot. This one is actually in my wheel house.

Weekend seemed almost nonexistent. To be fair I slept through most of Saturday, which through me off. Sunday I did some chores and we visited my parents and his. Pizza for dinner. Went to be early.

OK, funny story. Embarrassing story, but I'll never have to face any of you so I will share.

Facts: my daughter is home from college, my dog is still just a puppy though he is rather large (85lb), and my husband is quite amorous even after 30 years together.

Scenario: Hubby and I are out visiting parents and stop at Walmart to pick up some Benadryl cream for V, and a pizza for dinner. V is going to meet us at the house to get the Benadryl for her bug bites.

Luckily, Tim and I get home before V. Apparently, while we were out Merlin escaped the kennel. There was glitter tulle strewn about along with bathroom trash, what was left of a disposable razor (found all the blades), and some other miscellaneous parts, pieces, and socks. He met me at the door looking very satisfied with himself carrying something I wasn't quite sure of with his mouth and nose rimmed in glitter. Upon closer inspection he had found an "adult toy" and was joyfully prancing around the house with it. I'm a bit mortified and a bit amused. V is on her way and I'm chasing the dog around the kitchen table trying to recover the item. Tim enters and is met with me yelling at the dog and running in circles. He comes to help. We corner the dog just as V pulls into the driveway. Quickly bury the "toy" in the trash can and try not to laugh as she enters.

Thankful she didn't get home first. That is a conversation I never want to have with my daughter. That and if she'd gotten home first the ordeal would be all over TikTok.

JFT Sunday

yesterday was a bit of a stressful busy day. Did a 4 mile walk with my sister , then had to meet someone regarding some items we were selling on FB marketplace which took alot longer than anticipated

Ran to get a few groceries for the week and then on to go help mom do her hair for evening family dinner.

Lastly attend family dinner to celebrate our parents 60th.

Dinner was pretty good and mom and dad loved the cake I had made . The end result was mom and dad were happy and enjoyed it and regardless of the sibling rivalries , we all made it work for a 3 hr dinner. I am glad its over. There was alot of anxiety leading up to this.

JFT Monday

Had a Holding onto some water retention from a family dinner out last night. Feel gross so pushing lemon water and limiting food intake today.

Workout will be combination of strength and cardio

Vet appointment this afternoon for my horse today- I will be hauling him in to have an upper respiratory scope procedure done and they have to do it without sedation , which I hate for him. :(

We are trying to rule out what is actually going on , so far all the diagnostics we have done are revealing no real answers. Very frustrating and very expensive. This is the last of two possible things we can try diagnostically to figure something out. LST he has developed a violent head shaking whenever he is asked to for any exercise , so there is exercise intolerance and we think he may have something like an epiglottic entrapment going on which affects his breathing while being worked. I am praying we get some answers today because the next step is different type of scope procedure that is way more expensive .

Hubby and I just returned home from brief road trip to meet with our financial guy and his tax analyst. Good meeting but such a sedentary afternoon. Hubby agreed to drive the hour plus home (we take turns) and that made me happy since it really wasn't his "turn". Glad I walked doggo this morning to get some activity.

@pridesabtch Hahaha love that story with Merlin! 😂🤣😂

@HappyDonkey Glad you survived your family time for your folks' 60th. Sorry about your horse, hope you get answers soon.

Recap 7/20 Sunday ~ Sunny day, started a little cool but very warm now, at least humidity has dropped.

• Church 9:00 😁
• Meet PZ 11:30 & buy bday lunch ~ Mexican restaurant & logged my best guess (unfortunately did not abstain from tortilla chips this time) 😃 A family with 2 little kids sat in booth near us, and as they were leaving, the hubby stopped by our table to say hi. Turns out he was a former colleague of mine over 13 years ago, they heard my voice and knew it was me. I said hi to his wife as well, as I had met her several times when she also worked at the same company. He was one of the good guys from that job. Fun little encounter 🤩 / make salmon & green beans for supper ~ yum / limit snacks & sweets ~ yogurt with granola, raw cashews / 80 oz. water ~ 64 / log all food ~ tried my best / net calories zero 🙄 nope
• OT exercises 😁 / maybe walk dog to park later too warm

JFT 7/21 M

• Walked dog 3.9 mi 😁 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises
• Meeting w/ Mike & Mark 1:00 (leave home 11:45) 😁
• Lunch at Schmitty's after meeting & log best guess / supper? / limit snacks & sweets / 80 oz. water / log all food / net calories zero

📍Daily weight fluctuations are NORMAL and can be more than 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
📍A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
📍Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
📍The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
📍Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
📍The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
📍When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
📍Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
