Not a very good day. Woke up late and didn’t have breakfast, missed lunch because of on the road work travel and had to miss my yoga class. 😖 Hopefully today will be better.

Thanks @Tbris4 I just want to be able to not quite enjoy myself so much around food when away 😬 I really felt awful yesterday- bloated, tired, and my gut just felt like it was in turmoil. I hadn't eaten processed sugar for quite a while and felt awful after having a DQ blizzard on Saturday. Like alcohol, it's just not worth the short pleasure it gives.
I appreciate your kind comment 🩷 It's a reminder that I am not alone with this struggle.

Well I made a commitment this month to weigh myself first thing every morning. So I thought I would join this group. It will enforce accountability. My goal is simple. Just weigh myself to capture both positive and negative triggers.

13. 226.6… Day one… logged yesterday and finished only 100 calories over goal. Feeling great! Happy Sunday
14. 225.8… Day 2 is done and dusted. Logged and finished 100 over calorie goal. I’ve prelogged today since it’ll be a busy Monday. May cut the grass after work then jump in the pool… and vacuum it. 💦
15. 224.6 … Day 3 is put to bed! Logged and finished 18 calories under goal. Managed to cut most of the front yard after work. Didn’t make it to swim since the mosquitoes were biting last night. Feeling good 😁
16. 224… Day 4 done and done! Logged and finished 156 calories over. Another great day! Before work I’ll clean up and cover up the deck since it’s going to rain today.
17 224.5… Day 5 complete. 439 calories over. I knew that would happen eventually but I’m not mad about it.
18. 224.6… Day 6 complete… another less than stellar calorie day… but I’m still down .1 pound from the beginning of July. Gotta find the silver lining! 🤣 off to cut the grass … luckily it’s 74 degrees out… I’ll still be a sweaty mess… but not as big of a sweaty mess. Happy Friday friends!

21. 225.2 Day 9… Logged and done. I love healthy leftovers! Having a big salad for lunch and soup. I can eat soup everyday!

As someone who goes to bed very late, 4:30 am doesn’t leave much room between last snack and wakeup time. Besides, I already may not weigh tomorrow after travel and so much sitting expected today and I didn’t want to skip two days in a row. DGS’s surgery today so out the door I go in a few minutes. Prayers for a smooth surgery for Owen are appreciated.
💥💥💥 07/23-189.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 189.7) I really didn’t want to weigh today because I know some of this is travel / false water weight gain and tomorrow will be likely be some water loss if a loss is shown. But curiosity got the best of me. Today it looks like my actual weight and my trend weight have pretty much caught up with each other, but that probably is not likely the case, quite yet. Owen did very well during the 30 minute tonsil and adenoid surgery. They said his adenoids were extremely large. Here is a pics of him prior to surgery. So brave! He was not too happy after surgery.

Hi all. Not been a great month. I finally built my bike so at least I’ve started exercising again after a very lazy start to the month.
Made a pumpkin risotto last night - scales moved back up. It’s been so long since I’ve really made any progress I think that maybe I’m stuck being a big fat blob. I don’t want to accept that though - I’m not happy with how I look. It’s not healthy being so overweight.

July 23: yesterday brought a wave of emotional eating that’s been building from the weekend. Although I lost my dad to cancer almost 5yrs ago, some recent events resurfaced the emotions of losing him all over again. As hard as those triggered emotions are, I know that he is always with me which always brings me peace. Unfortunately, With the flood of emotions, came bad choices. I never really thought of myself as an emotional eater, but logging daily has helped me to see how my emotions play into my choices. There will always be moments where emotions will resurface, but how I chose the deal with them when they do is my choice. I am giving myself grace and today is a new day. 💜🙏

@Tbris4 I'm sorry about your father's death a few years ago. It will affect you for the rest of your life in both positive and negative ways, I'm sure. It's okay. We are humans with bundles of nerves and emotions. It does play into our decision making, our willpower and ultimately our weight and that is okay.
On another challenge someone posts daily that they are the driver in their life, not the passenger. I love that! I try hard to always be the driver but sometimes circumstances come along that puts us in the passenger seat. That's okay too. We all need to be a passenger sometimes on this long long road of life.
Don't beat yourself up. Allow your grief and all the forms it takes to happen. Our emotional health and well-being matters too! If it means ice cream or pizza or pretzels that we don't even really care for, that's okay too. Those couple of ounces or pounds on our bad days do not define us and they won't stick around anyway because life is a journey and we are on it for the long haul.
You've got enough sorrow, or heartache, or confusion about your dad's death. You don't need the pressure or disappointment of the scale. If needed, take a day or two break from the scale when you go through things that throw you off your plan. Perhaps you don't even need to see it. As long as you jump right back onto plan in a day or two then you can jump back on the scale. There is no shame in DNW. I personally do not need to see the numbers go up after a day of emotion or a day of travel. I already know. I don't need to jump in a fire to know that it's hot. That's honestly how I feel about it.
My thoughts and prayers are with you today. I lost my Dear Dad in 1992. I was 32 years old. It changed who I am. I am rooting for you. You've got this. Just remember to do it Your Way, whatever that may be. Your way for the weight loss, Your way for the grieving. Then it will be most effective.

07/23-189.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 189.7) I really didn’t want to weigh today because I know some of this is travel / false water weight gain and tomorrow will be likely be some water loss if a loss is shown. But curiosity got the best of me. Today it looks like my actual weight and my trend weight have pretty much caught up with each other, but that probably is not likely the case, quite yet. Owen did very well during the 30 minute tonsil and adenoid surgery. They said his adenoids were extremely large. Here is a pics of him prior to surgery. So brave! He was not too happy after surgery.
💥💥💥 07/24-188.8 ✅ (Trend Weight: 189.6) Well, I was hoping the scale would have came down more after a day of “recovery time” since the travel and surgery for Owen. I’m a full two pounds up still from the trip and honestly, it doesn’t make much sense since I didn’t do THAT bad. I also took my water pill yesterday so humph…. Owen is having a very bad day today (and yesterday). Not eating. Only sips of ice water on occasion. He will be at my house by 3:30 until Sunday night so hopefully I can get something down him, especially his meds that he is refusing. Thunderstorms today, extremely humid, early 90’s in temp and very gloomy skies. Thinking of chef Anne Burrell and her family today. So shocking and sad. It just makes me wonder if anything will be right today.

Well I made a commitment this month to weigh myself first thing every morning. So I thought I would join this group. It will enforce accountability. My goal is simple. Just weigh myself to capture both positive and negative triggers.

7/8- 193 lbs Had a light bulb moment. If you don't weigh yourself every day you are missing the moments when you have lost weight.

12. 228…. Ugh… it’s time to get serious about what I eat and eating within my calorie limit. Today is a great day to start!
13. 226.6… Day one… logged yesterday and finished only 100 calories over goal. Feeling great! Happy Sunday
14. 225.8… Day 2 is done and dusted. Logged and finished 100 over calorie goal. I’ve prelogged today since it’ll be a busy Monday. May cut the grass after work then jump in the pool… and vacuum it. 💦
15. 224.6 … Day 3 is put to bed! Logged and finished 18 calories under goal. Managed to cut most of the front yard after work. Didn’t make it to swim since the mosquitoes were biting last night. Feeling good 😁
16. 224… Day 4 done and done! Logged and finished 156 calories over. Another great day! Before work I’ll clean up and cover up the deck since it’s going to rain today.
17 224.5… Day 5 complete. 439 calories over. I knew that would happen eventually but I’m not mad about it.
18. 224.6… Day 6 complete… another less than stellar calorie day… but I’m still down .1 pound from the beginning of July. Gotta find the silver lining! 🤣 off to cut the grass … luckily it’s 74 degrees out… I’ll still be a sweaty mess… but not as big of a sweaty mess. Happy Friday friends!
19. 226.3 Day 7 … Hanging in there! Happy Saturday. Pizza and drinks last night.
20. 225.9 Day 8… Had family over… celebrating my son going to Norway today… his first international trip… my daughter starting her Senior year of college next Monday… and a nod to my hubby’s birthday. 🎂 ✈️ 🏫
21. 225.2 Day 9… Logged and done. I love healthy leftovers! Having a big salad for lunch and soup. I can eat soup everyday!
22. 223.1 Day 10… Logged and done! Feeling great. 😁 I love seeing 223! Day by day… pound by pound.
23. 223.8 Day 11…logged and done! Walked 25 minutes home yesterday from dropping my car off to get my front brakes done. Happy about the walk part of it!24. 223 Day 12… Done and dusted! Swam for 2 days in a row… more like cleaning the pool from inside… was so nice and relaxing. Have a big work event tonight, so I’ll make sure to eat healthy beforehand.
25. 222.8…Day 13 Logged and done. Stood on my feet from 3pm to 7pm and talked with lots of interesting people. Didn’t eat much at the event, so I had cold cereal at home for dinner. It was 94 degrees yesterday, so Honey Nut Cheerios sounded perfect. Happy to be in the 222 family.

💥💥💥 07/25-188.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 189.5) I’m grateful for the daily drops on the scale as I inch my way back down. But….. Boy, oh boy! It sure takes longer to come back off when it can leap on at 2-4 lbs easily in one day! Something to keep in mind I suppose…. Owen is still grumpy today. He is still struggling with food. The only small amount of squeezable fruit or food of any type he takes is when I threaten to call the ambulance. I told him about IV feeding and he doesn’t want that! So he takes one bite or one squeeze. That’s about it. He is finally taking some of the Motrin so that’s a plus. He’s grumpy. I am staying out of his face as much as I can.
