@pridesabtch oh my gosh, you have so much going on, and none of it an easy fix! Does your mom remember taking her neighbor’s boots or trying to take someone’s dog? Seems like she shouldn’t even be going out of the house alone at night, but you certainly can’t be there to guard her doors 24/7. Do you have siblings? Do they have any ideas? Do they help out at all? It sounds like she should be in some sort of assisted living situation, but I know you tried that and it didn’t go over so well…kind of puts you in a *kitten* position though. I’m sorry! I dread possibly needing to have this discussion with my mom someday…. I hope you have a peaceful easy day… 🥺🫂

@PackerFanInGB I'm actually an only child, but mom's sibling support my decision to move her to assisted living. Unfortunately, none of her siblings live close. Her sister came in a few weeks ago and tried to help me talk her into moving. She made up stories about the boots and the other things she took. I don't know if she's delusional or lying.

My next step is getting her declared incompetent. I'm filling out paper work to take her to court to get guardianship so that I can move her even if she doesn't want to go. It may ruin what is left of our relationship, but she just isn't safe there any more. Thank you for your kind words. It isn't a pleasant thing, but I know it's the right thing.

Just for today, I will think about that blueberry bundt cake on the counter as a dessert to share with someone later today than my food for the day.

Hour commitment - Ate lunch early due to a good reason, but I usually like to wait until noon. I won't eat again until after 5 pm. None of the same foods at dinner as at lunch. Can still have my dose of metamusal.

    @PackerFanInGB and @cschmitz110515

I didn't realize that was all going to work the way it did either when I put my info into KBB. As I was driving to the dealership yesterday to drop the truck off and finalize the paperwork I had a brief moment of panic and second guessing my decision. I almost ALMOST talked myself out of going through with it, but then I kept reminding myself.. This is only a vehicle. Why I am so emotionally attached to it is beyond me!! I know I looked for that truck and saved for a down payment for nearly two years so maybe that was why. But the truth is I have different priorities now. I hear you on the car payment thing. Its back to just having my old SUV which has been paid off for years , but she's getting tired .I know I need to look for something else soon which likely means another car payment but it will be something used that has already depreciated and something much less than what the truck was.

Boy yesterday was a busy one. Almost forgot that I needed to go to the grocery for mom before going over. Heaven forbid she run out of sweet tea. She was in a pissy mood. I ticked her off within 2 minutes of being there, so I left as soon as I delivered the groceries. I really do not need to be treated poorly.

Tim didn't work late so he made dinner. It was nice to sit down and eat as a family. He is a good cook. I crashed on the couch not long after dinner. Between the busy day and giving blood I was wiped out. I was still pretty rough this morning. I decided to skip my first meeting of the day and sleep an extra 30 minutes. It seemed to help a bit.

People expect me to play pool this evening, but I may go to music bingo with Tim instead. Just depends on his mood and my energy level. Bingo is quicker than the pool tournament. If we go to bingo, I'll eat there. If I go shoot, I'll eat leftovers.

Boredom at work = online shopping for things I almost need. I am thrifting though so it could be worse. Poshmark & Thredup. Two more hours and one more meeting and I can leave.

Unfortunately hubby is very busy and stressed. Things are not going well on his side of the plant. If his unit is down, the rest of the plant has to shut down. It's not a good situation.

today was a cluster of a day…. So much drama with my mother and SIL. I am about to have a bowl of ice cream which was in my plan today, but I will measure it out to make sure I don’t eat half the carton out of fatigue. I had an oncology treatment today, so that usually makes me tired anyway, plus the situation at my mom’s was mentally draining, and I’m historically an emotional eater…. So I’m trying to be aware of that fact and not make poor choices tonight. 😬

Tomorrow I hope to spend time in my sewing room and just work on my quilt, watch Netflix and have some quiet time.

I hope you all had a nice day! Tomorrow will be a brand new day….🥰

    Happy Hump Day!

I have no appointments or “have to’s” today, so YAY for quiet days. My husband is up north for a few hours working n the hunting land, so I have the house to myself (well, me and my dog 🥰). I plan to fold and put away my whites in the dryer, clean the fridge, wash & chop produce for a mini salad bar, bake a lemon cake at hubby’s request, and then spend a few hours in my sewing room working on June’s block of the month for an online quilt-along I’m doing. I think I have the fabrics picked out but might want to run to my mother’s and check out her stash of red fabrics to see if there are any I like better. I need 3 different red fabrics and I really like 2 I have picked out but I’m kinda iffy on the 3rd… My mom has enough fabric to start a quilt shop…which is nice but kind of ridiculous too. 😬😂

I twisted my left knee yesterday so I won’t be getting a lot of movement in today. I don’t want to push it.

I’d really like to open the windows and doors but we have a Medium High Air Quality Alert today from Canadian wildfire smoke. I tried opening the patio doors for our dog to be able to come in and out, but the smell of smoke is pretty strong. It’s sad that there are such big fires that the smoke can affect the sky here in Wisconsin. I can’t imagine how large these fires must be.

Anyhow, I better get moving. Have a wonderful day everyone!

    JFT Tuesday

    • Work by 7:30 ❌

    • Home by 5:00 ✔️
    • Nap/Dinner ❌
    • Bingo/Pool ✔️ Bingo & dinner

Yesterday was a little on the boring side. I bought 3 work blouses from Poshmark, a cocktail dress for a wedding in October on ThredUp and 3 comfy summer dresses from Halara. I was only going to get 2 from Halara, but 3 was actually cheaper. I bought one earlier this summer and I LOVE it. It's the first time a built in bra has ever supported my DD chest without giving me a uni-boob. AND it has built in shorts so my thighs don't rub. Plus they are cute and cool in the crazy hot weather. In addition to my clothing purchases I bought V a blanket with a picture of her and Elliot on it and a pillow shaped like Merlin. I should not be allowed to get bored at work. It's expensive!

Went to music bingo instead of shooting pool last night. Hubby needed to destress, and he hates going with me to shoot pool.

Been pretty busy today so far. Because the plant is down we moved lab clean up day to today from September. I brought in Cracker Barrell breakfast for the whole gang. They seemed to enjoy it. They don't know I bought it with my own money not company money, but they were still appreciative.

Have an HIPD (High Impact Production Disruption) meeting at 4:00pm, these are awful. Then I need to go pick up Merlin from daycare. Will likely go to trivia this evening, and I'll need to stop by mom's on the way there. Other option is a Dutch Doubles Pool Tournament. I might do that because Tim is comfortable going to trivia without me and he can destress there.

    JFT Wednesday

    • Up with pup at 6:00-ish ✔️
    • Pick up Cracker Barrell at 7:30 ✔️Close enough
    • Work by 8:00 ✔️ Close enough
    • Breakfast with group ✔️
    • Emails & Meetings ✔️
    • Meet with vendor about abatement project ✔️
    • Lunch ❌ Ate enough at breakfast that I didn't need lunch
    • Data entry for May (June tomorrow. July Friday - maybe) ✔️
    • HIPD Call
    • Merlin by 5:00
    • Home by 5:30
    • Decide between trivia & pool
    • Either way limit to 3 beers and home by 11:00pm

Hi JFT friends! Just a quick check-in. I had my ablation this week and am a little sore, but I'm hoping for a smooth recovery. The cardiologist said he found more scarring than expected, so I'm not sure if this procedure will fix things. Hoping my HR settles and I can get back to my normal activities. For now, orders are to take it easy and no lifting anything over 10 lbs. for a week. No pool, ocean, or hot tub for 4! I was a little surprised at that, but the doc is trying to keep his record of zero post-op infections. Oh, well. Thank goodness for AC.

My son came down to stay for a few days and help with the dog, garden, and anything else I might need. He's currently chauffeuring my daughter around because her car broke down today. She's really overdue for a new vehicle but frazzled by the thought of shopping for one on her own. She's got a lot on her plate as a single mom, so I'm glad her brother is here to help.

In other "exciting" medical news, my pre-op testing showed all my liver enzymes are way up, so I'm off the statins again and have an appointment with my GP tomorrow. I'm a little nervous because of family history, but no sense in avoiding it. This has really felt like a lost summer.

Oh, well, no matter the issue, I really need to lean hard into changing my eating habits and losing the weight I put back on.

It sounds like many of you have a lot going on too. I'm going to try to catch up while I convalesce. In the meantime, wishing good things for all of you ❤️

Back from my parents T evening, yesterday drove to nearby town for pedi & shopping. Hubby and I have his nephew's wedding this weekend, 2nd for groom & bride, but at a nice place so I need to look like I made an effort LOL.

Caught up reading all the JFT posts. Sorry so many are going through difficult times. Virtual hugs to all!

@PackerFanInGB I too have been thinking of @Bex953172 and hoping they are well. I had to giggle when you said you had the house to yourself for a few hours. I love days like that, but don't get them very often, since hubby is a homebody and usually does stuff only with me. Not terribly nice for me to say, but sometimes I really miss being single and being totally independent. I always joke there was a reason I didn't marry until my 40s. LOL

JFT 7/31 R ~ 2nd day of Air Quality Advisory & learned this morning that was extended to tomorrow. Ugh! I so want to hang laundry outside and open windows in the house, but not if that means we smell smoke from Canadian wildfires on everything. We've either had that, or heat advisories. Thank heavens for AC.

    • Walked dog 3.62 mi, waved at Al & RJ on separate missions, doggo got water at their place 😎 happy dog & happy me / OT exercises
    • Took month end measurements / logged on MFP 😐️ pretty much same as last month, at least not worse
    • Supper? / limit snacks & sweets / 64+ oz water / log all food / net calories zero
    • Bloom boost in flower pots / water herb & tomato pots / make peach cobbler / make something with zucchini & ripe bananas (got free zucchini from roadside in neighborhood) / read / digital declutter / other?
    • Concert at garden 6:00 / 1 adult beverage

    Hey JFTers.. Happy August..

Its hot and muggy here today with storms threatening including flooding starting tonight. 1-2 inches per hour I guess. We will see if it actually shows up. We live on a hill so for us , no big deal , other than the weather won't be pool weather… The pool has had its fair bit of drama in the last couple of week. We got it filled, then it rained and it got cold so we didn't use, then it got warm enough to start using, used it once.. then it sprung a leak, had to wait 3 days for it to drain. Took two days to find the leak and then patched it three days ago. The patch didn't hold so now we have repatched it with different stuff that I was able to do under water of all things. I put ALOT of adhesive on that patch this time around.. It now appears to be holding. its half full again. Praying it holds atleast for the next few weeks but WHAT A PAIN! Next year we will need to buy a new liner . They are all out of stock right now .

I just want my pool time..lol

-Work- got through WAY too many meetings for a Friday.. what are people thinking?
-A few personal finance things that needed to be taken care (mostly for my hubby)
-Got tickets for a concert tomorrow evening , about an hour away . Its held in a gorgeous location. The singer Samantha Fish.. never heard of her but apparently he has. It was his idea and for him to plan something like that on his own??? I was pleasantly surprised.
-We were gifted an air fryer so dinner tonight will be wings in the air fryer. I have no idea what I am doing. Wish me luck.
