I've decided not to go to the social in the park. It's one of the rare days I get to myself when John is out at cricket, and I soooo enjoy that. I look forward to my 'funny lunch' and just pottering. I have sent an email excusing myself. Plus the fact that I was awake half the night worrying about G. I have talked to her this morning and did my best to persuade her that she needs help. She is so reluctant to ask. She hopes to talk to her doctor today. She can't wash properly, or change her clothes. The cleaner is coming today, thank goodness. And Waitrose are delivering easy food this afternoon.

I've organised sending her some flowers for tomorrow. They are the kind that go through the letterbox. I picked colours to go with her decor.

I did get my exercises done, once I had decided that sleep was not possible. I've also done my writing. A little light housework is in order, but nothing strenuous. I often descale the kettle when John is out and pour the hot vinegar water on the weeds in the front. Damp dusting downstairs is on the list as the cleaner was too busy preparing my guest room. I have chilli squid for lunch with a brown rice salad. Yum! Tonight we are having chicken, lentil, and spinach curry. Double yum!

Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx

😀 Red car I finally got the red car I wanted two years ago when we bought the Tesla. it was a prevously owned car and Jake searched for a long time online to find the model he wanted in the color I wanted at a price we could handle. I would have been happier continuing to drive the car we already had, but having an electric car was an exciting prospect. I felt fabulous driving my sleek red car and enjoyed every minute of it until I realized that getting the car serviced required a two hour drive and Jake's health was taking a turn for the worse and I'd never be able to handle a drive to get it serviced. It was a happy day for me when he said he thought we should trade the Tesla in for something more conventional. It was possibly the fastest decision we every made. I was so grateful to not have to worry about how to get our car serviced that it didn't bother me what color the new car was. I was reminded of the old saying "Be careful what you wish for".

😀 I am fortunate that I found an eating plan I can live with. The longer I eat this way and the more I learn about healthy eating the more I am able to stay with my plan. it's even easier now that I'm cooking only for myself.

😀 Tracey, bravo to your grandson. He is learning outstanding life skills.

Just a quick hello, before I start my stretch tonight.

Kylia, I genuinely believe that your headaches are related to stress. You are working non-stop. Can someone take over while you take a mini vacation or staycation? I keep a migraine bag to help me when I am not at home. I will take a pic of it later.

Lisa, let them know how you feel after your workout. Are they sure you do not have an ear infection? Try to take care.

    Everyone, have a wonderful weekend.

    XO,

I have been cautious about emails since the I Love You virus back in the late 1990s.

It's actually a good idea to take an online safety course of some sort. Put on by a reputable organisation like a government cybersecurity organisation or recognised uni, of course.

I use ad block so I am not tempted by ads. If you're looking for something, go to the site don’t click on ads.

I haven't trusted emails since the "I Love You" virus on May 4, 2000. Remember that one? Just a few of us in the office were "tech savvy" and dropped everything to put a stop to it. We put in a lot of overtime for a few days!

I also don't trust phone calls or texts … not for the last decade or more.

Unless I know what the email or text is all about, I rarely open it, or if I do open it, I don't click on any links. First thing I check is the email address and if it looks odd … delete!

I presume you all know that you can hover your mouse over a link in an email or here in MFP and other places and see what the real address to the link is down in the bottom left corner of your screen?

As for phone calls, I don't answer my phone unless I know who is calling. If it's something important, the person will leave a proper message.

I highly recommend checking your local library, senior's centre, college or university for cybersecurity or online safety short courses. It's good to take the courses in person so you know who's teaching it.

Online courses are all right if they are taught by a government organisation or college/university.

But be very careful with ads on FB, ads elsewhere, and other sites which might appear in Google searches offering cybersecurity or online safety short courses. They could be phishing sites.

I use AdBlock to block ads on FB, MFP and elsewhere. Ad blockers can be quite a good idea but be absolutely sure to get them from the official sites not from some other downloading site.

I also get the free 14 days of Malwarebytes from time to time.
