You are doing great @chris_in_cal !
Uneventful is good @kgirlhart .
Thanks @SummerSkier . Sorry you hurt your knee again. It's amazing how little things, like moving 😂, can cause issues. Hopefully you will be able to run pain free soon.
@Teresa502 I'm glad you were able to run this morning. I hope your back is okay.
@angf0679 You may just have to do that all by yourself. Once you get in the habit, it is easier. Maybe give yourself a reward for every run you do in a week. Would that help?
Sounds like you are doing great and learning a lot from your current plan @WarmJellyfish . I hope the moozies aren't too bad!

@quilteryoyo I was looking at getting/making myself a reward chart

You got this! Now get out the door and do it! 😁

I did a treadmill run this morning. I didn't want to spend a ton of energy since I was going to play tennis tonight, but I just kept going. I did a 1/1 run/walk. For the first 30 min I did mostly 5.5/4.0 mph. Then 5.5, 5.0/4.0 with the last 5 ish min being 5.5/5.0/6.0/5.5 no walking. The avg pace was 12:40 min/mile. Avg Hr was 126 with a max of 153 bpm. I was pleased with that.
Tonight, I played doubles tennis. It was mostly a group that has formed a team, so we were practicing for the state tournament in Oct. We did switch partners during the night and didn't necessarily play an entire match. Most of the games were close and it was fun. My legs really are more tired tonight than I expected them to be. I hope I'm not sore in the morning.

I ran 6.5 easy miles today. It was very humid. Tomorrow is supposed to be hill repeats. I am kind of dreading them, but the half in November is very hilly, so I know I need to run more hills.

Brutal Pilates class this morning - decided to up my weights and certainly felt it. Lots of heavy lunges making for an excellent glute workout. Followed this with a great wee run. I could have gone longer but was going too quick for much more distance realistically and I had things to do.
Was very impressed with myself considering it comes on a couple of very busy work days and poor nights’ sleep but that’s follicular phase for you - if only my body worked like this all the time!

Morning all
Got in 5.5M at 10'30.
Rest day tomorrow (flying!). Have 1 night free before Quebec and Newfoundland.
Debating whether or not to go to Vermont and eat at Ben N Jerry's! So you may see a Vermont tagged run!
.
@Scott6255 @Teresa502 @SummerSkier @quilteryoyo @John772016 thanks all! 😊
PS: hope back injuries and leg/foot injuries heal quickly 🙏🏽

Great running @kgirlhart . Good luck on the hill repeats tomorrow. I actually sort of enjoy them. They make me feel strong.
Sounds like you had a great day @ContraryMaryMary !
Great run @tarun_yadavA . Of course, you have to get Ben & Jerry's if you can. What is your go-to flavor?

Wee trail wun yesterday in bug country. Bugs World War Z.
Supposed to be a recovery day today, but going for a short run. This weekend will be in the backcountry overnighting. Still mulling if I can fit everything the 20L bag.5 -

I ran 6.25 miles this morning. The weather was a little less unpleasant today. Not quite pleasant, but better than yesterday. I did my hill repeats workout. Overall it went well. I ran 2 miles to warm up and then 6 repeats. The first 4 hills went well. On the way down the 4th time there was a dog coming up the hill. He was medium and looked kind of like a husky mix. There is a husky in a yard at the top of the hill. I think this dog was smaller, but he could have been that dog. He didn't bother me, but I still turned and went to the next block to finish my workout. So the hill I used for the last 2 repeats wasn't as good as the first hill, but I still think I did the workout as close to the intent as I could.

Woohoo! My run started not good, but I was still going at 3.5km (kind of a critical point for me). Then I ran on, and decided I'll walk a bit at 5km. Oh no, lets do that at 6km. Or at 7? Well, I ran 8km in total, and surprisingly fast at that.

Due to do another 10k on Sunday, will try one click quicker on the treadmill to start with.

Posting 3 days…liked my way through tons of posts! You folks are awesome!
Thanks @Mari33a & @Scott6255! Was a bit worse than I expected, but the knee issue, though annoying, is okay now.Nice (several!) runs @kgirlhart, @Mari33a, @quilteryoyo, @tarun_yadavA, @WarmJellyfish, @yirara, @chris_in_cal, @SummerSkier, @Teresa502, @ContraryMaryMary, & @username301 !
Enjoy the trip to Canada (& Welcome!) @tarun_yadavA!
Glad your flight wasn't affected. My buddy was told that the airline was prioritizing international flights (about a half million folks stuck that they were trying to clear). His flight (local) may have happened today but we didn't want to guess, so canceling was easiest. We're now deciding where our rescheduled trip will be.
I'm sure you've got stuff set up for your trip in Montreal but if you don't - > Lunch - Smoked Meat @Schwartzs' Deli , dinner in Old Montreal & drinks on St. Denis will not disappoint.

My legs were/are tired today, but not sore. I did a driveway wun this morning - mostly walking, before mowing my mom's lawn (I mostly rode, but did finish the push mowing of the trim), and then helped my neighbor mow (rode) his uncles lawn.

Parkrun today. Good run and I managed a new PB for the year. Still need 14 seconds for a new course PB. Slowly, slowly…

I need to add my first sticker to it tomorrow. When it's full I get a new book.
7 -
GC giving me another click, now 42.

Morning!
@John772016 thank you! Did Schwarz 2Y ago when my buddy and I did Montreal. (This time we're doing QC and NL).
@quilteryoyo hmm.. I tend to prefer HD over BnJ. My go-tos are Pecan Praline and Macadamia nut brittle. So I guess anything nutty and caramel-y. VT is all maple syrup stuff so maybe something Maple syrup-y.
Oooh maybe Cherry Garcia. You don't see that one much anymore. Guessing flagship site /farm might have it
5 -
Congratulations on your park run @ContraryMaryMary !
I like your chart @angf0679 . Just my opinion, I think to begin with you should give yourself a book after you fill in one line. Once you get more consistent, you can change it to two lines, or maybe the entire card.
You're doing great @chris_in_cal .
@tarun_yadavA We have twin souls - I love nutty and caramel-y ice cream. Enjoy. I've never heard of Cherry Garcia, but sounds good too.
1 -
Nice wun @quilteryoyo!
Congrats on the PB @ContraryMaryMary!
Love the fridge magnet @angf0679! Great idea on the reward motivation.
Congrats on the VO2Max increase @chris_in_cal!My mistake @tarun_yadavA, I assumed Mtrl, enjoy Quebec City, it is beautiful place. I'm hoping to get to Nfld next year as I've never been. I've been talking to a buddy about a race in each province, hoping we can make it work.

Total = 118.97km / 73.93 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)Walking down the condo stairs today to head out for my run and my kneecap 'popped'. Pain on every down step after that. Not sure why that happened, but I turned and climbed up instead and it seemed fine.
Then I stretched the leg & knee out several times & it felt better. Kept heading downstairs, gingerly as it was still sore.
Once I was on level ground it seemed fine…….decided I'll just run and see what happens.
Overcast day in the city for a quick run.
Bit of a concern that I had kneecap issues & pain twice in the same week since I normally don't feel much pain due to my nerve numbness. I'll need to watch and see if it recurs.
Regardless, knee feels normal now.
…Old man legs..🤷♂️...4 -
Great job on the PB @ContraryMaryMary!
Glad Garmin gifted you a VO2Max increase @chris_in_cal!
@tarun_yadavA enjoy your travels (and ice cream)!I snuck in a short 3 mile TM run this afternoon to get me to 21 miles for the week. First time since December I cracked a 20 mile week. It sure has been a long journey back to just being at 50% of my previous self. Like @John772016 says Old man legs..🤷♂️...

@John772016 Thanks! It was one of the few things I could find at the Jays Shop when I was there for their back for the to back to back World Series wins. I was hoping for more.
I didn't run today. I slept in and then got busy with my "To Do" list. One of things on that list was blocking Facebook on my computer. (I don't have it on my phone.) My goal is to stay off a week as I am so much more productive when I am not on it and constantly scrolling videos.
4 -
Thanks @John772016 . I hope your knee is okay. In case stairs are an issue again, I've always heard to take one step at a time and use the bad leg first going down and the good leg first going up. "Up with the good. Down with the bad."
You are doing great @Scott6255 . I hope the leg continues to cooperate.
Nice @yirara .

This morning, mom and I went to the local library book "sale." It wasn't really a sale. They are having to move all of the books they have for their annual sale so were giving them away so they wouldn't have to move many. Of course, donations were welcome, so we did give them a donation for the box of books we got.
Anyway, as I was walking back to the car, my ankle was bothering me - the one where I tripped last November. It seems to be that it is worse after I play tennis…I guess all of the stopping quick and pivoting doesn't make it happy. I'm thinking about seeing an orthopedist to see if I should be wearing a brace and what kind would be the best.
So, I decided to take it easy on my run. I had planned to mostly walk, which I did, but I guess I ran fast enough, when I did run, the middle 1.25 miles that I could count it as a run. Avg pace was 14:02 min/mile. Avg HR was 138 with a max of 162 bpm.
My ankle seemed to be okay while I was running. Who knows.

I’ve been battling a sniffle the last few days - my sinuses are stuffed up and giving me a headache, but otherwise I’m OK - so I didn’t feel like doing a long run this morning. Instead, I did the Pilates short run combo, which I really enjoyed, but my legs were feeling it during the run.

Get well soon. Spring and warmer weather is on its way.
