What a great party @quilteryoyo, your mother looks very happy.

Pilates and the usual short run after today - freezing rain and wind when I headed out, making for a new course PB! Gotta stay warm (am not warm. Currently sitting at my computer freezing but yesterday I had the heating on which made me sleepy and I’ve got much work to do. )

Today's run was a tempo run. It was a hot and sweaty run. It was kind of tough, but I managed to hit the average paces for all the laps. I didn't see any peacocks, but I did see 2 skunks.

@WarmJellyfish I'll have to look into the garmin training that isn't with a coach. I do sleep with my watch though, and it is usually not happy with how much sleep I get.

@quilteryoyo I am so glad your mom got so many cards. Looks like y'all had a great party. Kudos to you for keeping your streak going. I bet you are exhausted.

Thanks @ContraryMaryMary . Congrats on your PB for the course you ran!

Thanks @kgirlhart . I was exhausted Sat night…one of those nights where I was too tired to sleep. Feeling much better yesterday and today. You're doing great with your runs. It's a good thing skunks are mostly afraid of humans.

Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Nice longer, early morning run for you today.

@kgirlhart it really depends on how badly you want to do a scheduled training.🤪 If crappy sleep interrupts, for eg, if I'm scheduled to do a threshold/VO2max training the next day, then my crappy sleep the night before (usually sleep scores below 55 or something) will change that to a easier base run instead, but if I am soooooo determined to go spit/choke my lungs out (sucker for pain) to do the threshold run, I just don't wear the watch to sleep 🤣 and do the training as scheduled. These custom plans are bascially the same as the pre-determined ones except they don't have a known coach name attached to it.

Edit: Garmin coach plan is so adaptive 🤨. I think it listens to my thoughts too, was wondering what I needed to do to go faster. Originally scheduled to do a base run for 60 mins, now thanks to my stellar sleep recovery, I'm going to do sprints training today. Woohoo! Eeek

@Teresa502 sorry to hear about the bug

@quilteryoyo glad your mom had an awesome birthday mmmmm food…

@ContraryMaryMary congrats on the PB. Hear you on the heat.

    Great running everyone @tarun_yadavA@CMorning99, @yirara, @John772016

I only slept 2 hours saturday night (sleep score = 1), 😐️ had a very short nap sunday pm and then slept like a rock sunday night (92 score! woot! probably won't ever see that again, well maybe, depends on how stupid I am, have a few more all nighters coming 😏). A walk yesterday helped to bring the legs back slowly. Sigh the recovery these days is so much longer…🙄

Garmin said: wow, you're heartrate is high for a flat terrain, slow walk. What's going on???!? 😂

Now that I've been a bit more consistent with running I'm happier to do some 'easy runs'. Today was current 5km pace +.

I can feel there are still some simple gains to be made through consistency & losing some weight.

    Progress/ Goals August.

    Runs...……................…….....8/13

    Distance Ttl..........................52km/91km

    Distance Ind......................…10km Done.

    Run outside................…....…Done.

    Fast 5K (post pandemic)…...Done

I have decided to use a modified version of the Hal Higdon training plan. Today the plan called for a 90 minute 3/1 Run. I don't have time to run for 90 minutes on a weekday. So I ran my usual 6 miles. I did run the first 3/4 of the run at a comfortable pace and the last 1/4 of the run at almost HM pace. I felt like I got the intent of the workout even if it was shorter than prescribed. I saw another skunk today. And a couple of dogs approached me, but they didn't follow once I was past their yard. They didn't even bark. I just noticed them because I heard their toenails clicking on the street behind me.

I checked my mfp streak today and it is at 3600 days. I can't believe that I have been on here almost 10 years.

Thanks @Teresa502 . I'm glad you are feeling better. You do so good with running when you are traveling. You inspire me to do the same.

Thanks @WarmJellyfish . I thought I got some low sleep scores, but it has never been 1! I've never had a 92 either though. LOL All nighters are tough. You did great.

    You're doing great @username301 .

Thanks @John772016 . I would fix the streak if I knew for sure that I didn't miss one day. I fully expected that maybe I hadn't checked in last week, but 48 days ago seems odd to me. Sorry about your knee and having to cancel your trip….and having to pay for the privilege. I hope your knee is okay tomorrow.

Nice run and MFP streak @kgirlhart . Time passes fast these days.

    Thanks @Mari33a . You're doing great.

I think I lost my mind today, as I went out for a run at 2 pm….feels like temp was 92F (33.3C) at the start and 94.5F (35C) when I finished. I did take it easy - walked a lot and ran slow. The avg pace for the run was 14:18 min/mile. Avg HR was 140 with a max of 158 bpm. I was trying to keep it under 140 bpm, but that didn't work. Splits were 14:18, 14:28, 14:28, and 13:15 min/mile.
