Nice runs & walks @kgirlhart, @ContraryMaryMary, @tarun_yadavA, @WarmJellyfish, @CMorning99, & @yirara!
That's good news @Scott6255. I always tell people that the skin on my knees is the youngest part of me as it gets completely replaced due to all the cuts & scraps at least once a year…..

Posted 7 days of exercise. Getting ready for mom's party, plus other necessary things took up most of my time this past week. I did manage a couple of run, but mostly just walked to keep the streak going. I was tired at the end of the week, but so happy with the way the party turned out. I'm not sure of the total number of people who turned out to help us celebrate, but I would guess between 50 and 60.
Saturday, the day of the party, I was on my feet almost all day, from 7 am - 10 pm, getting in over 22,000 steps.
I had intended to get in a run today, but called into work and had some other things I had to get done, so another walk it was. Hopefully I'll get back in the groove sometime this week…and back to eating decently after the leftovers are eaten. I'm trying to stay close to my "Oh my gosh, you need to quit eating so much." weight.
Mom and her cake.
Half of the food table…for you @tarun_yadavA .
More of the food. There were two crock pots of meatballs and this was before we got the chips and dips and buffalo chicken dip set out. Had sandwiches, quiches, veggies and dip, fruit, pinwheels, fruit, cheese, crackers, pepperoni, nuts, trail mix, and of course cake and cookies. Maybe something else.
Mom and her kids, grandkids, and great grands.
Me and mom.
As of yesterday, she had gotten 152 cards! She got more today. Thanks to those of you here that sent her one. She was thrilled to hear from so many people.
Still hoping MFP fixes it so that we can put photos under the spoiler again!
Because @SummerSkier had posted about her MFP streak, I checked mine. I couldn't remember if I checked in last week or not. I thought I had. But, my streak is now at 48 days! Not real sure when I would have missed a day. Oh well, starting over, even though I really hate loosing my streak, whatever it was. LOL

What a great party @quilteryoyo, your mother looks very happy.
Pilates and the usual short run after today - freezing rain and wind when I headed out, making for a new course PB! Gotta stay warm (am not warm. Currently sitting at my computer freezing but yesterday I had the heating on which made me sleepy and I’ve got much work to do. )

Today's run was a tempo run. It was a hot and sweaty run. It was kind of tough, but I managed to hit the average paces for all the laps. I didn't see any peacocks, but I did see 2 skunks.
@WarmJellyfish I'll have to look into the garmin training that isn't with a coach. I do sleep with my watch though, and it is usually not happy with how much sleep I get.
@quilteryoyo I am so glad your mom got so many cards. Looks like y'all had a great party. Kudos to you for keeping your streak going. I bet you are exhausted.

Morning all
Got in 8.0M at 10'41.
@John772016 @quilteryoyo as always, thank you! 😊
And birthday pics looked great

Thanks @ContraryMaryMary . Congrats on your PB for the course you ran!
Thanks @kgirlhart . I was exhausted Sat night…one of those nights where I was too tired to sleep. Feeling much better yesterday and today. You're doing great with your runs. It's a good thing skunks are mostly afraid of humans.
Thanks @tarun_yadavA . Nice longer, early morning run for you today.

Good morning,
I've been traveling a lot this month but I'm home until October. Caught some kind of bug on the trip home from Florida. Tested negative twice for COVID but it was rough for a couple of days. I got out this morning for a 5 mile run albeit a slow one.
Love that interview with the 80yo @chris_in_cal - thanks for sharing.
Happy belated Birthday @SummerSkier and glad your mom had a great time at her celebration @quilteryoyo She looks very happy!
I've been reading and liking all the posts even though I haven't had time to comment on each one. Ya'll continue to keep me motivated!

@kgirlhart it really depends on how badly you want to do a scheduled training.🤪 If crappy sleep interrupts, for eg, if I'm scheduled to do a threshold/VO2max training the next day, then my crappy sleep the night before (usually sleep scores below 55 or something) will change that to a easier base run instead, but if I am soooooo determined to go spit/choke my lungs out (sucker for pain) to do the threshold run, I just don't wear the watch to sleep 🤣 and do the training as scheduled. These custom plans are bascially the same as the pre-determined ones except they don't have a known coach name attached to it.
Edit: Garmin coach plan is so adaptive 🤨. I think it listens to my thoughts too, was wondering what I needed to do to go faster. Originally scheduled to do a base run for 60 mins, now thanks to my stellar sleep recovery, I'm going to do sprints training today. Woohoo! Eeek
@Teresa502 sorry to hear about the bug
@quilteryoyo glad your mom had an awesome birthday mmmmm food…
@ContraryMaryMary congrats on the PB. Hear you on the heat.
Great running everyone @tarun_yadavA, @CMorning99, @yirara, @John772016
I only slept 2 hours saturday night (sleep score = 1), 😐️ had a very short nap sunday pm and then slept like a rock sunday night (92 score! woot! probably won't ever see that again, well maybe, depends on how stupid I am, have a few more all nighters coming 😏). A walk yesterday helped to bring the legs back slowly. Sigh the recovery these days is so much longer…🙄

Garmin said: wow, you're heartrate is high for a flat terrain, slow walk. What's going on???!? 😂

Now that I've been a bit more consistent with running I'm happier to do some 'easy runs'. Today was current 5km pace +.
I can feel there are still some simple gains to be made through consistency & losing some weight.
Progress/ Goals August.
Runs...……................…….....8/13
Distance Ttl..........................52km/91km
Distance Ind......................…10km Done.
Run outside................…....…Done.
Fast 5K (post pandemic)…...Done

Great photos @quilteryoyo & really nice pic of you & your Mom! I hope she had great day!
(there's a way to fix your MFP streak if you think it's wrong & want to correct it; I saw it when one of my friends had an issue with theirs, if you want to fix it, let me know & I'll see if I can find what the steps are that they did or the link to)
Nice runs & walks @Mari33a (& biking! You're inspiring me to bike more often), @quilteryoyo, @ContraryMaryMary, @kgirlhart, @tarun_yadavA, @Teresa502, & @username301!A sleep score of 1 is now my goal on my next bout of insomnia @WarmJellyfish.

Total = 98.61km / 61.28 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)As I was cancelling my travel plans(*spoiler) for this vacation weekend, my kneecap did a little weird 'pop' as I stood up to get changed for my morning run!
I did all my usual stretching & loosening up but my knee just ached throughout all of it.
My planned run didn't happen, as I was feeling really uncomfortable stressing the knee.
Decided I'd try a bit of walking first and see how it feels.
Got caught in a couple little rainstorms this morning while out walking. The knee is still hurting, but better & I'm pretty sure it will be okay tomorrow, just some weird kneecap issue.*was travelling to Montreal and meeting up a couple of buddies for a boys weekend, unfortunately there was an airline strike affecting others on the trip. My travel (different airline) was fine but there was a good chance I would've ended up there by myself!
We decided to cancel this morning.
The folks affected directly by the strike had no $ penalties, myself, as I was on a different airline got charged cancellation fees.5 -

I have decided to use a modified version of the Hal Higdon training plan. Today the plan called for a 90 minute 3/1 Run. I don't have time to run for 90 minutes on a weekday. So I ran my usual 6 miles. I did run the first 3/4 of the run at a comfortable pace and the last 1/4 of the run at almost HM pace. I felt like I got the intent of the workout even if it was shorter than prescribed. I saw another skunk today. And a couple of dogs approached me, but they didn't follow once I was past their yard. They didn't even bark. I just noticed them because I heard their toenails clicking on the street behind me.
I checked my mfp streak today and it is at 3600 days. I can't believe that I have been on here almost 10 years.

Thanks @Teresa502 . I'm glad you are feeling better. You do so good with running when you are traveling. You inspire me to do the same.
Thanks @WarmJellyfish . I thought I got some low sleep scores, but it has never been 1! I've never had a 92 either though. LOL All nighters are tough. You did great.
You're doing great @username301 .
Thanks @John772016 . I would fix the streak if I knew for sure that I didn't miss one day. I fully expected that maybe I hadn't checked in last week, but 48 days ago seems odd to me. Sorry about your knee and having to cancel your trip….and having to pay for the privilege. I hope your knee is okay tomorrow.
Nice run and MFP streak @kgirlhart . Time passes fast these days.
Thanks @Mari33a . You're doing great.

I think I lost my mind today, as I went out for a run at 2 pm….feels like temp was 92F (33.3C) at the start and 94.5F (35C) when I finished. I did take it easy - walked a lot and ran slow. The avg pace for the run was 14:18 min/mile. Avg HR was 140 with a max of 158 bpm. I was trying to keep it under 140 bpm, but that didn't work. Splits were 14:18, 14:28, 14:28, and 13:15 min/mile.
