    I got 6 miles in today. The temperature was a little lower, 73°F, but it was very humid. I could see some lightning off in the distance, but I kept an eye on my phone and it wasn't too close. Then about 5 minutes after I got home the rain hit, so I was glad I got out when I did.

    Nice running everyone.

    Was supposed to do a zone 2 run, it was really zone 3 mostly. The heat probably got the hr up. Fed a few bugs. Apparently I'm very resistant to mozzie diseases. Weather station said 25c I saw 28c in my car. This week is going to suck for mileage.

    @John772016 I know the hitting the shade bit. Sometimes it looks like I'm drunk, wandering across the pavement, from tree shade to tree shade 😂

    it’s still hot here but I’m enjoying it. I took Dakota out for 1,8 miles & continued on. He was content with that and didn’t overheat.

    I ran 6 miles today and did Fartleks. It was a lot of fun. I wasn't really feeling it when I started out, but it turned out to be a really good run. Fartlek runs are usually pretty fun. There was a dog that came barking from his yard and startled me, but his owner was outside with him and she called him back before he came into the street.

    @SummerSkier It is good to hear you are on the mend from breaking your ankle. Congrats on the MFP logging consistency, great job.

    I've had a left knee glitch ever since a age 19 motorcycle crash. It flairs up occasionally, but has never caused pain while running, it is always tenderness post-run. It's been HOT for about two weeks and my technique is to ignore it and hope it stops, like it always has in the past. Now I'm afraid that a life long knee niggle will become a good target for some arthritis to grow. I hope not. Good luck. I think the best progress comes from doing a good job of dealing with our changing needs for recovery and rehabilitation. It's an art as much as science.

    I'm wildly excited that my three month old Garmin just showed my vo2 max increased by 1.

    (I take this and most of those metrics tongue in cheek, though I do appreciate trends if I'm on some kind of a consistent routine.) I'm now a 41. :)

    Recovery "run" yesterday. So did a walk. Went shopping. Bought camping toilet paper like it was covid no more stock again. Stocked up on Gu gels but forgot the salt sticks. Had a cold front blow through, 27C the day before and yesterday was 17c with a brisk wind. Brrrrr in short sleeves😨. Dodged a major thunderstorm but did get some light sprinkles. Dancing in the rain 😁☔️

    Nice runs @Mari33a (& cycling! Are you stationary bike or outside cycling?), @chris_in_cal (& congrats on the V02Max increase, that can be be very hard to do!), @kgirlhart (I always thought Fartleks were fun as anytime I tell a non-runner, the look on their face is priceless), @SummerSkier (& congrats on logging streak), & @WarmJellyfish! - Is there no more TP stock again because you bought it all?

    13/08 - 7.24km / 4.50 miles
    14/08 - 0km (Stationary bike today - 25km)

    Total = 71.08km / 44.17 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)

    Humidity dropped overnight, which was nice, but by the time I was able to head out for a run today, the air quality had nosedived due to the wildfires that are ~2hrs north, but today they were blowing smoke into the north end of Toronto.
    It was windy today though, so air quality improved a few hours later, I've just never been patient or a good late afternoon / evening runner, as I find it too easy to find other things to distract me.
    I always try for am or lunchtime runs or occasionally maybe early afternoon.

    Garmin this morning told me I needed a 'Rest' day (I'm starting to think it really thinks I'm on my last legs!?! given how many rest days it suggests after a minor run, it really must think I'm dying).
    I hopped on the stationary bike for a quick 25km earlier this afternoon to avoid the poor air.

    After some grocery shopping, in better air quality, Garmin is now happy again, as apparently it thought my hard bike ride was similar to sitting on the couch binge watching Game of Thrones & eating snacks🤷‍♂️.

    I ran 6 miles this morning. It was mostly uneventful. There was a dog by the park who came running towards me and yapping at me. His owner came out calling him and was very apologetic. I never understand why people will just open the door and let their dogs out.

    @SummerSkier Congrats on the streak.

    Looks like I saved the draft yesterday but never posted. I am getting ready to do some hill repeats. It is 5:00 am and it is 81°F. Ugh.

    Oof, those are some rough numbers for the middle of the month! It was a bit tough getting back into a routine after a week off, Iose the momementum so quickl. I haven't even bothered weighing myself.

    Thankfully the threat of fires has passed us and we can refocus. It has been cool, nearly cold here with the fog and wind. Work has been mentally draining, but I am learning that so many things going on here are not my circus…head down and do what I need to do.

    We have a busyish weekend and looking forward to sleeping past 4:30 am LOL.

    Have a great one and welcome back to the school year LOL

    Long story short, I fell on a chunk of lifted concrete this morning and banged up my knee (not my injured knee but the other one). I am a mess.
