Good Monday Morning!
@plantpowered , have a great trip!
@Jon4189 , I am not an outdoor winter person either. I plan on milking fall for as long as possible.
@tinathescreamer , great job with the consistent losses!
Day 22— 163 - 09/13— Keeping my goal the same....gonna get there. I went through the same thing when I was trying to get to the 160's from the 170's. And I did it. It gets harder the closer you get to your final goal. But it's not a race, as the saying goes.
Day 23—09/14— 163.4 - Back on the stick today. Had 2 sunny-side-up eggs and toast for breakfast. I will probably skip lunch and have a light dinner….maybe a sandwich. Too much sodium yesterday and not much physical movement. It's supposed to be warmer today…will probably have to turn on the a/c….bleah! And there are two BIG games today….Phillies could clinch the NL East, and the Eagles play the Chiefs!
Day 24—09/15— 162.2 - That's better! I had an Atkins shake for breakfast and will probably have a ham sandwich for lunch. Dinner may be fish.
Got an order of yarn delivered this morning so I can crochet some fall pumpkins. I also plan on making a sweater with some yarn from my stash I have had for years. I need to use some of it up.
Oh…Phils lost but Giants lost so they are in the playoffs. Eagles WON, but there needs to be some work on offense....too predictable. Even I knew what they were going to do half the time. Hopefully they will figure it out in the coming weeks.

Starting Weight from End of Last Challenge: : 185.6
Goal This Round: 175.6 (10 pounds)
Challenge Actual Ending Weight: xxxxx
Total Lost/Gained this challenge: xxxxx
🔜🔜🔜🔜🔜Ultimate Goal: 145-155 (I’ll know Exactly when I get there!)
Thoughts at the start of this round:
This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

CURRENT WEEK:
Day 22—09/13—184.0 ❌ (Trend Weight:184.8)
Day 23—09/14—186.2 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.9) Bowling with the three littlest littles yesterday was lots of fun but two out of three of them actually beat my scores (the pre-school 4 yr old and the first grader). I used to be a pretty good bowler in my younger days! Lunch out was a Chinese buffet (Foodie DD’s choice). Within the hour of the buffet lunch (she ate a LOT), she ordered Two Large Pizza’s at the bowling alley! Unbelievable! It can’t be food insecurity, I promise she had a normal eating life growing up. I avoided the pizza and was done with food for the day after the buffet. Weight is up 2.2 today which is pretty typical for me after any restaurant meals of any kind. Hopefully I can stay home for a few days and get back to routine. I did shop while away and pick up more of my plan foods. I should be good to go. Enjoy your Sunday!

@Crochetluvr Was that - orange yarn? For the pumpkins? We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, as it's not our history. Besides, it's the wrong season for pumpkins. The retailers have been trying to push Halloween merchandise on us, but I guess consumers can see thru that, as that idea hasn't really caught on. I am thinking there will lots of candy being sold off cheaply in November, so I may splurge on a treat then, if I can work it into my allowed calories.
Anyway, I was taking my daily walk, and what should I see on the sidewalk ahead of me but - a skein of orange yarn! I looked round to see who had dropped it, but there was no one around. I already have a mega stash, which I can't knit atm with annoying broken wrist, so I dropped it into the donation bin outside the Sally Army on my way home. I hope it didn't fall out of your order and sneak its way over here!
Anyway, no calories in yarn. Plus busy fingers keeps the nibblies away - def don't want to get greasy marks from those roasted nuts, chips etc, on my knitting!
Day 22—09/13— 141 lb. Off to a good start. MFP tells me that at current calorie level (Base level 1500. Today I ate 1557 + 30 mins walking) I will weigh 138.4 in 5 weeks.
Day 23—09/14— 140 lb. See - you can lose weight eating carrot cake! Turns out it is healthy after all! My measurements are Waist 29 inches. Hips 39 inches - so a bit bigger all round than I was at 134 lb. But I forget to measure until after breakfast, so I will remeasure tomorrow, hopefully if I remember before eating/drinking.
Day 24—09/15— 139.5 lb.. Waist 28.5 ins. Hips 38.5 in. Dropping more rapidly than I anticipated! But I am eating only 3 meals a day - no snacks. I prefer salty to sweet, so likely the lower salt consumption is resulting in water loss.
Day 25—09/16— 139.6 lb
Day 26—09/17—
Day 27—09/18—
Day 28—09/19—
Week 4 Start Weight: 141 lb.
Week 4 Goal: Not sure I want to set an actual weekly goal. I aim to eat around 1600 cal and walk 40 mins daily. According to MFP, that should drop me 0.5 pounds a week, but I know the loss will not always be perfectly consistent.

Week 1 Goal: 343.6 lbs

Week 2 Actual: 343 (Up 0.6lbs)

Day 22 - 9/13 - 340.8 - Finally a big woosh, wish it had shown up before the end of the week tally. Yay for carrots/snap peas and hummus as my new main snack.
Day 23 - 9/14 - 343.2 - Yoga ❌ Workout ❌No deliberate exercise but many trips up and down the stairs for laundry. Also, I didn't drink enough water to go with my fiber. Tried a new recipe for Crispy Gnocchi with Cherry Tomato Sauce and it was delicious!
Day 24 - 9/15 - 342 - Yoga ✅ Workout ❌ Moving in the right direction both weight and movement wise. Back at work tonight.

Hi All,
I'm Jenny, 60 years old, 5’6” and hit my goal weight in Feb. 2024 with the help of this group - maintained for 8 months and then just hit a really stressful stretch of life with toxic work situations, long hours and the stress of building a new home in DE and selling our old home in NY. It's like I defiantly watched myself start binge eating, drinking more alcohol and gaining almost every pound back. So here I am again - finally settled in the new house and doing what worked for me the first time - daily weighing, IF, logging and exercise. I’m also adding Noom to the mix to help me find better ways of coping with stress. My goal for this challenge is to simply keep with it – even after a slip. I can do this – I’ve done it before, I can do it again!
Day 25—09/16: 220.0 – speaking of slips…been MIA for a bit with a very stressful work situation that I didn’t handle well in terms of food and alcohol. Finally got through the gauntlet last week and spent the weekend prepping soups for lunches, enjoying the sunshine doing pool workouts with DH, and resolving to not let work derail every good thing in my life. Back on track yesterday, a cardio/weights workout & stretch today, and ready to move forward again.

@plantpowered Enjoy you time away!
@tinathescreamer Love the ‘no calories in yarn’ and can’t eat with yarn. Question for you: In what part of the world do you reside?
@tinathescreamer and @Crochetluvr I’m not ‘crafty’, but my eldest daughter is in a big way. For a few years she hand dyed yarn in small batches. She’s closed production a year ago. She knits and weaves and makes small quilts. The last time I counted she has 4 looms of different sizes for different kinds of projects.
@Jon4189 Congratulations on the 189.5!! It is always such a good feeling. Question for you: Does your scale only give .0 and .5 ?
6 -
Goodish day yesterday. We walked to the tip of mainland Canada.
Had tacos for lunch at 2pm. We’re camping in a vegetable growing Mecca in southwestern Ontario. We realized that there are more than two dozen really authentic looking Mexican shops and restaurants. Then we put it together …. In Canada, Mexican workers come to work on farms. After walking around a bit, I believe there are more Mexican living in this town than any other nationality. The food was amazing.
We had ice cream after that. The ice cream took me over on IN calories. But the flavours were fall —- Pumpkin and Caramel Apple. One scoop of each on a waffle cone. Lately ice cream has been giving me an upset stomach, but yesterday’s did not; I’m happy about that.8 -
Yes it is +/- .5…. The scale is 30 years old, still works…

Good Morning, Group!
@age_is_just_a_number , wow....your daughter sounds talented! Good for her!
@jennysweet58 , good to see you back! We all have those slip ups.
@Jon4189 , Congrats on the 80's! I am waiting to feel that way about the 50's.
@tinathescreamer , I got some variegated orange and fall colored yarn...browns, greens, golds, etc. I used that first to make a pumpkin. Now I have to stuff it and add a stem. And that's WILD you finding a skein of orange yarn! Someone will be sorry they dropped it. And someone will be happy you donated it. 🧡

That's better! I had an Atkins shake for breakfast and will probably have a ham sandwich for lunch. Dinner may be fish.Got an order of yarn delivered this morning so I can crochet some fall pumpkins.
Day 25—09/16— 161.6 - Stayed up till nearly 2, but I saw the Phillies win the NL EAST CHAMPIONSHIP! But doing it on the west coast is brutal. Now they need to overtake the Brewers for most wins to get home field advantage in the playoffs.
Food yesterday was good. I might do similar today....grilled ham and cheese for lunch, maybe soup for dinner. Soon will be time to make a pot of chili...looking forward to that.

🐝🐝🐝🐝 Day 25—09/16—184.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.8) A funny thing happened on the way to the…. Okay, anyway. Here’s the story (to explain the gain). Made a lovely dinner last night that I’ve made before. But instead of chicken breast it was boneless chicken thighs. Instead of roasted…sautéed in a pan. After all that work I gagged on the first bite. The meat was too hard. Now, this has always been the main crux of my eating disorders…texture. In the trash bin it went after all that work! So with no plan for dinner now, and STARVING did I make a quick good choice? Perhaps a tuna sandwich on low cal/low carb bread. Perhaps breakfast for dinner with eggs and avocado toast. Perhaps even just a quick can of soup, though processed it would be within calorie and carb limits. Nope. Straight for the boxed sweetened cereal left by DD for DGS. A bowl and ½ later I was finally full (which of course didn’t last too long), so then I had to suffer the rest of the night. August was a very good month for me. You can see by the ❌'s that September has not been. It’s time to pull my head out of you-know-where and get with the program. My lower left area of my tummy/torso is hurting today. My intestines I think. It’s probably the sugar!

@Jon4189 I'm in New Zealand. In the Southern Hemisphere, so we are just entering Spring. That means fresh produce is still a bit expensive atm - it will get cheaper as we head toward a Summer Christmas.
Day 26—09/17— 139.8 lb. I had to go to the other side of town, and felt I needed a little something to keep me going until I could get back home for lunch. I had brought an apple, but it was sooooo sweet I couldn't finish it. So I looked for some nuts in a supermarket. It would have been cheaper per oz. to buy a value pack - but I knew then I wouldn't stop eating till they were all gone. But I saw some raw almonds in the bulk bins on special, so just bought a dozen of those. It was only 15 grams worth, but still 84 cals. Nevertheless, I stayed under my calorie limit.
Week 4 Actual Weight:
8 -
Went way over on IN yesterday. Went to a restaurant for fresh Lake Erie Yellow Perch yesterday. I was ‘good’ and swapped out fries for a salad. But I was ‘bad’ because I also had a Moscow Mule and dessert. Dessert was …. Wait for it…..
carrot cake cheesecake. It was as if they made carrot cake, cut it in chunks, then poured cheesecake batter all around, then baked the cheesecake. It was not too sweet and delicious. I ate it all.
Three more days of camping. So far I’ve had two days where my IN were way higher than my OUT. The other 5 days, my IN and OUT have been about equal.7 -

Spring is my favorite season, then Fall!!! Enjoy the rebirth of nature! I love all the Spring flowers!

Good Morning, All!
@Jon4189 , thanks! I am SO ready!
@ptitejeanne, some nice losses there....WTG!
Day 24—09/15—
-
That's better! I had an Atkins shake for breakfast and will probably have a ham sandwich for lunch. Dinner may be fish.Got an order of yarn delivered this morning so I can crochet some fall pumpkins.
Day 26—09/17— 161 - Another good day yesterday. Pretty much a repeat of the day before. I will likely have the same lunch but not sure about dinner. Need to make a trip to the grocery store. My vegetable crisper drawer in my refrigerator only has 2 apples in it....nothing else. Can't remember the last time it was so empty.
Tried on some clothes that were too small for me last summer. They all fit now, except one pair of shorts that is too big...I put that in the donation bag along with some t-shirts that are XL. One sweater which is one of my favorites, is still too small, but not sure if it will ever fit again. The sleeves are too tight and at my age, the stretched skin is not going to go away. I will hold onto it for one more season and if it still doesn't fit, I will donate it. Next, I have to go through my winter clothes to see what is too big now and donate them. I am DONE with gaining weight back and having more than one size wardrobe!
Oh...Phils won again last night!
Day 27—09/18—
Day 28—09/19 -
Week 4 Start Weight: 163
Week 4 Goal: 161
Week 4 Actual Weight:
7 -
I agree on the sizes, I needed to get more shorts, so I got the smaller size, so that they don't require a belt when I am at home, and I am going through my winter shirts getting rid of really big shirts… One the bright side I am getting new bicycle jerseys.

CURRENT WEEK:
Day 22—09/13—184.0 ❌ (Trend Weight:184.8)
Day 23—09/14—186.2 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.9)
Day 24—09/15—183.8 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.8)
Day 25—09/16—184.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.8) A funny thing happened on the way to the….
🐝🐝🐝🐝 Day 26—09/17—184.0 ✅ - (Trend Weight: 184.7) I had a diverticulosis attack yesterday so I stuck mainly to liquids to rest my intestines. That’s what my Doc always recommends. It’s not always possible due to my diabetes and glucose drops, but yesterday turned out to be no problem (except for hunger!) No exercise as I was afraid I would get too weak. I didn’t worry about calories or carbs, just food that wouldn’t have to be digested. At the end of the day I logged everything and found my calories to be quite low but my carbs on the high end of my allowance. So I don’t know if this drop in weight will last but this is the reading this morning with no TMI in sight. Today are hair appts for me and my son. I will take him to lunch as is the custom. I will try very hard to be careful on my choices though I find myself very hungry. Perhaps a small snack before we go will help.
