    Round 309 18-27 September 2025

Please join us starting on 9/18 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 309

Anyone can join us at any time during the round.

Join us! If we stay mindful, we can do this, you can do this.

Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!

Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. You have only one hour to edit your post. Post every day to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non-scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share. Make the board your own - track what is important for YOUR JOURNEY.

FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all the posts.

    Starting Weight 173.3 lbs.

    Goal Weight: 136 lbs.

9/22: 173.3 lbs. Starting again today. I have gained a little over 22 pounds in the last year due to repeated injuries. Looking forward to feeling better and staying injury free!

9/23: 172.1 lbs. Yesterday's exercise was a Full Body HIIT workout + step count was 13,666, ate as planned and was in a calorie deficit. Going back to what works and I know is sustainable for me in the long run…body strength workouts at home, intermittent fasting, and gluten-free/low to no processed foods (aiming for an 80/20 balance).

    9/19 - DNW

    9/20 - DNW

    9/21 - DNW

    9/22 - 167.6

9/23 - 167.2 - I'll take it! Yesterday was a bit of a spur of the moment eating but I managed to make it work. Today is better with pre-planned meals. I will need to go grocery shopping either Thursday morning between the gym and work or Monday morning before work after we get back for produce and a couple tins of diced tomatoes for dinners next week. I did find 4 simple and relatively quick meals I can make up for dinner without issue so long as I get that small grocery trip in. Also got into the gym for legs today which felt good despite being tired. I've been certainly oversleeping lately by sleeping in most days. I need to get back into a solid routine again. I was slightly short on water yesterday but I'm giving myself a 10oz buffer and I was within that so I'm content. I was under on protein by 11g (1g over my buffer) but I wasn't overly hungry so I'll leave it. I was within calories and all other macros so it is okay. I have a bit more fat and a lot more carbs left for today but I didn't plan a snack yet. Maybe I can sneak in my dairy-free ice cream as a treat tonight?! We shall see.

09/22-183.4 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.7) So nice to see a drop. Progress! My tummy issues seem to be settling in now, much less pain. A couple of weeks ago I joined a local book club through our public library. I only had a couple of weeks to get through the book, but I managed and really enjoyed it. Tonight is the first meeting where I will meet the other members. I’m very nervous. Meeting new people and friends is something I’ve found to be a bit difficult as I’ve gotten older. Oh, the free-spirited days of being a trustworthy child and young adult who was not so self-conscious! Trying hard to stay engaged and putting myself out there in my retirement! I sure do miss my husband who is in Heaven now.

🐝🐝🐝🐝 09/23-184.4 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.7) I enjoyed the new book club immensely. We were assigned a new book for the upcoming month. It is much smaller so I also checked out another book by the same author as the one I just read. It was highly recommended. I think I can handle both books. I had a few too many snacks that were offered. All sweet. I don’t think I’ll ever get over my obsession to partake in “new” or “free” foods. It harkens back to my youth, growing up poor. At the age of 65 now, I just don’t see that it will ever feel right to pass on those foods. I guess I’ll just have to make some adjustments over the next couple of days that will smooth it all out. Just like I do when I eat at restaurants or travel. It does slow down the timetable on progress, but it doesn’t eliminate it. I’m just not panicking about it today and that feels very healthy.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 309 (my 239th).

    Goals for every round;

    • First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
    • to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
    • be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
    • an additional goal for me (again) this round is to have a totally 10-day binge free round.

I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.

    image-a00b1ab7098fc-1230.png

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.

Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

I am the driver in my life & not the passenger, I need to drive my life to a healthy life."Health is wealth".

SW Rnd 309 Using weight from 9/20; first weigh in on return from holiday – 146.3

9/17 DNW - 6.3 miles walked. Had a lovely day, hotel spoiled us last night, all sensible eating went out the window!!

9/18 DNW - 9.3 miles walked. Caught the bus to Ibiza Town, wandered around the port, castle, cathedral & maze of old streets.

9/19 DNW - 8.94 miles walked, did favourite walk of the holiday to the lighthouse and back along the coastal rocks & pm last lay on beach & swim in the sea.

9/20 146.3 – that’s the holiday damage!! And a shock to be 0.3 pounds back into the BMI overweight category !! My giddy aunt!! Here we go working to lose 1.5 pound by the end of the round. No structured walking due to flying back home.

9/21 144.6 – that’s a better number, at least I am back in the normal BMI range. No structured walking, took our 2 little DGS out for the day whilst DD & SIL went to the theatre for a Friends parody show – they have always been great fans. We took the boys bowling as the weather was inclement, and all had a wonderful time. Eating well back on track.

9/22 143.8 – 7.9 miles walked. Settled well into sensible eating pattern, restarted morning stretching & toning exercises.

    image-29d893c7e6bc98-d257.png

    9/23 143 – 11.24 miles walked.

9/24 141.8 – 6.55 miles walked. Lunch out with FF including my 3 sisters, they all started their wight loss journey at the beginning of the year, and between them have lost my total weight – I am so proud of them.

@deepwoodslady Yay for you putting yourself into a new social situation! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

@itladyee It’s crazy how these little fur babies put us into “mommy” mode and just tie right onto our heart strings. In return they give us such comfort and joy.

I enjoy reading everyone’s posts with my coffee each morning.

    Highest weight 242 lbs Lowest weight 142 lbs (2019) Re-start JGMTD Feb 2024 @ 204 lbs

    Round 308 End Weight 173.0

    9/18 172.8
    9/19 173.6
    9/20 173.4
    9/21 DNW
    9/22 173.4
    9/23 173.2

9/24 173.0 It’s real work to get tiny little drops but I know it will add up. I do plan to eat higher calories today. I know that a temporary bump up in weight is ok, that I’m doing everything right to keep trending down.

I’m acutely aware that being too strict and chasing a constant drop will backfire into a binge.

This time of year I’m not getting as many workouts as I’m used to. It’s the change of seasons. I think I might start running in the mornings. But maybe not. I have a love/hate with running.

Let’s do this! #HSF 9/19 132.8. 🏆🚶‍♀️💗👣🤸🏼🏋️‍♀️📖 Great day. I was disciplined, came naturally… it’s easy to stay in #HSF mode when my mind and emotions are at peace. That’s a good thing! #MindBodySoul.

Tennis tournament starts today – two matches today and two matches tomorrow (in the mid 90s) so I will hydrate & have fun! Lots of 🥩 💦 & Electrolytes✨

Spent a good bit of time yesterday in prayer & reflection as well as this morning. A peaceful & present experience to start this day. Will 🤸🏼🏋️‍♀️ ⏱️ now to warm-up for first 🎾 match!

9/20 & 9/21 DNW. Great nutrition Friday but not so much yesterday. Two tennis matches Friday/one yesterday -all were grueling. My team missed the playoffs by one line loss. We had a great time! I can certainly feel my age from a few years ago… Three tough matches in the heat took its toll. I was exhausted yesterday and ended up eating way more than I should have (PASTA-what?!?!!!). It was a decision based on exhaustion & not smart for me… Fell asleep super early last night - tossed and turned from being too full… I learned that, for me, overdoing it physically then rationalizing it by increased portions - has many more negative ramifications than simply not exercising (if that makes any sense). I’m still recovering today from the heat & pushing too hard and will jump back on board here tomorrow. Hydrating today! I apologize for not keeping up with our “feed” I will catch up by tomorrow. But oh @itladyee  Princess Lola is darling! We had a Lola once… Lola was our golden retriever for 13 years and my love!! Enjoy!

9/22 DNW I’m still in a fog. Back tomorrow. Today:🚶‍♀️💗👣🏋️‍♀️💦

9/23 +5 lbs in 5 days from keeping all intake STILL inside my body! Gosh! Still hydrating- can’t get enough. Lesson: do not over-extend yourself in heat & dehydration! Hopefully will “process” soon. Planning a WV walk & electrolytes. (Most I’ve weighed in 2years) not worried - simply flummoxed @ my system ’s shut-down. #HSF #MindBodySoul #discipline

9/24 133.0 🏆🤸🏼🚶‍♀️💗👣🏋️‍♀️📖💦 Still feeling bloated but at least my system started working again. Lovely WV walk on the lakefront yesterday. My hubby surprised me! (I’ll post some photos) … solid day nurturing myself- #MindBodySoul Getting MORE back in the groove today! My eyes are still on the PRIZE- slowly inching toward my BHAG.  💪🏻

    SW: 127.6

9/18 – 127.8 I will get myself together. Excuses include “after wedding” Monday. Tues spent 4 hours trying to help acclimate new private aid for mom, who then quit and snuck off the job two hours before her end time. Wed working on aftermath, and today, back to maine to clean everything there and close it down. I distract easily.

We are going out to eat tonight, but I know the restaurant and menu.

9/19 – 127.2 Just mildly better than past few days.

9/20 – 128.0 Now that was cruel. :P I finally did a great day. First since last weekend. I will say though that over the years I have seen that “day after pasta” day often shows an up. Yes, we had pasta last night, but I tracked it thoroughly.

9/21 – 128.6 another up without reason. Going to just let this play out. It will sort and stabilize soon and I’ll know where I am out. Looking to get back 126 or below before November.

9/22 – 127.4 I think this could be a realistic number for my behavior this week (1.6 lb gain from last weekend which would mean about 5600 calories over for the week). Yesterday was not awful, but I did not accurately track. I don’t have the groceries in the house to support better choices, and I think this is going to continue a few more days until I can get a reset.

    9/23 – 128.8 Yup, it continues

9/24 – 128.0 So yesterday, I tracked, and also resisted the compelling urge to binge (was eyeing those chocolate chips!!)

    9/25 -

@SModa61 getting passed the wedding is a huge milestone… You made your goals like a champion!

Personally, I always feel a big letdown after a major event… Feels like the “day after the prom” A special time to R&R & regroup. Onward!

09/23-184.4 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.7) I enjoyed the new book club immensely.

🐝🐝🐝🐝 09/24-183.8 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.6) Travel today for groceries and other shopping. Nice little drop today but those night time snacks are really interfering. The madness needs to stop!

9/18: 180.0 😊Well, this was my goal for yesterday. 🤣Lunch out with the fam, then tap class.💃

9/19 180.4 🤨Not really sure why there was an increase with as much activity as I had yesterday??? In addition, I had a surplus of calories. So frustrating! But I’m not giving up. Went for a short walk this morning and practiced tap. Then went to an art fair and walked around all evening. Lots of activity again. We’ll see tomorrow.

9/20: 181.3 😔Late night eating and drinking. Today I have a bridal shower and then another outing with friends this evening. Sadly, I’m not expecting tomorrow to be any better.

9/21: 180.4 😊Well, this is a step in the right direction. I didn’t eat anything at the bridal shower because there was essentially nothing gluten free for me to eat. Plus, the food that was there was intermingled with crackers that I could not have. I can’t explain the hurt and feelings of betrayal considering that this was a shower for a future family member. I really didn’t think I needed to say on the invitation that I’m celiac. Whatever. I’ve decided that my future RSVPs will say that I will be happy to attend if my food safety is protected. Yes, I could take a separate meal for myself, but that is just weird. While I was standing there looking at the food wondering what on earth here is safe, the bride-to-be flippantly said to me, “Sorry, I don’t know what is gluten free here.” So sorry for my rant.

On a positive note, I went to an event full of food trucks (about 15 of them) and figured that I wouldn’t find anything I could eat…but I DID!!! I was so happy! We had a good time. Nice to end on a positive note.

9/22: 179.3 🎉I am happy, but not getting attached. However, motivation is high today! Yesterday, we had lasagna that I made last winter…in the freezer, of course. I entered the recipe in MFP and was a little mind-blown.🤯I mean, I knew it would be a lot, but…wow! Okay, so I cut them in smaller pieces and got it down to a reasonable size. If anything, I understood how the weight creeped on me. It also showed me that this indeed is a lifestyle and that I will need to keep track of this forever. I also am reminded that I need to be patient while my body decides to give up the fat!

9/23: 180.5 🤨Today was tap class. That was it for movement. Yesterday, I walked and practiced tap. 🤷‍♀️

9/24: 178.1 😊If I can bounce around in the 170s for a while, I will be happy. It’s sad when a life event creates a speedbump in your progress. For me, it was the wedding (before, during, and after). One thing that was different last night—we didn’t have anything to snack on at all after dinner. Wow! If that was it, I need to do that every day, but it was HARD! We’ve cut back to only watery fruits after dinner (grapes, oranges, etc), which has helped. Maybe I can gradually work my way towards making this a habit.

@Chapter_3 Great pics! That reminds me of all the Live Oaks we saw in New Orleans this spring. I never knew anything about them or the Spanish moss handing from them. And your bike riding partner looks good too! 😊

@musicsax I agree with everyone else. You are being a great example for your sisters. That has to feel good!

@itladyee I agree that waiting until later in the morning gets a better result. I’m always amazed when I get up and weigh myself, then go back to bed. Weigh myself an hour later and magically lose a pound! Absolute best part of retirement for me is sleeping in! I am a night owl, so I drag out around 9am. I am still only average about 7.5 hours per night. I don’t miss getting up at 5:30am in the slightest. 🤣

@Chapter_3 So very true, I noticed that feeling last monday. Then, I accumulated more excuses during the week. I need to stay focused. My weights for this wedding and my daughter's in 2017, were within ounces of each other. Then, my 2017 history shows the creep up afterwards. I saw you mention your shock of a 5 lb uptick. I can, and have, certainly done that at times too. While it feels lousy, be assured that logically that is not 5 lb of fat as that would have to be approximately 5 x 3500 of extraneous calories during those few days. You'll have it turned around quickly. I am confident!! <3

Editing to add, I love the tree pics, and great photo of you and hubby!!

    SW Rnd 3️⃣0️⃣9️⃣ 232.2 Goal 229.x

9/18 231.4 ~ Travel day. Didn't take any travel snacks…stopped and had lunch. Went to the nearby casino that evening and just had a sandwich.
9/19 DNW ~ Morning at Hotel before picking up Princess Lola, then travel day. We picked up some ribs (recommended by a friend) on the way back knowing that I wasn't going to cook. They weren't very good and I was tired so I didn't eat much.
    9/20 230.8 ~
    9/21 231 ~ Back to regular scheduled programming :)
9/22 231 ~ midday weigh-in, so possibly lower. My schedule is a bit out of whack. I didn't get 5 consecutive hours last night, more like 2.5. As long as she does "something" when I take her out, I'm not upset at all. I just wish I could fall back to sleep as quickly as she does. I refuse to start the day before 6am, but at 6, we're up and out to start the day. Then puppy breakfast, out again, then puppy play. By 10ish, she's a bit worn out so down she goes and out I go to get my walk and/or exercise in (2 miles today). I return and eventually she wakes up….we play, we have lunch, we potty, we play, we nap, repeat! Lola is doing great! It's the DH that I am about to choke…"when do you think she will be potty trained", "how will you know", "how long can we leave her alone", "do we need to put a leash on her" (yes, we have a fence but she's much too small). And those are just the ones I can think of at the moment~
9/23 229.8 ~ late weigh-ins might be the new normal. I get up and get started with the puppy and don't get to me stuff until about 9am. Oh, well, I'm still figuring out "our" schedule but I like this number! Last night, she amazed me…. We were down for about 4 almost 5 hours and I thought…hmm, haven't heard her. I turned over and once she saw me move, she gave me a big sign to let me know she was awake and ready…. she waited for me!!! I'm calling her my emotional support dog. She does make me happy! Today was my son's 36th birthday. I made him cookies and have for every year except one (when my sister died)….at any rate…took Lola down and she got to meet her "brother".
9/24 230.6 ~ Lola slept in, so I got to weigh early. I think I prefer the later version!!
    9/25
    9/26
    9/27

Sometimes we need someone to simply be there. Not to fix anything, or to do anything in particular, but just to let us feel that we are cared for and supported.

Non-scale goals (tracked for prior day):

    🏃🏻‍♀️ Intentional movement 7/10 days

    🚫 No alcohol 7/10 days

    SW Rnd 309: 129.0

    RGW: 128.0

9/18 - 130.6🏃🏻‍♀️🚫 Didn’t have a bad day yesterday. Just bouncing back from being a little dehydrated after drinking wine. I’ve been doing a 5-day express strength program on Peloton all week. Daily 20-minute full body progressive overload with dumbbells. They go by quickly but the soreness is starting to add up. It feels good to be more consistent with strength training though. I’ve been substituting at middle schools all week. Middle school starts at 7:30 here 🥱 My sleep has been good but I still find it challenging to wake up at 6. Tomorrow I’m actually subbing in my son’s 1st grade class! It has a later start and I get to see inside his day at school.

9/19 - 130.2 🏃🏻‍♀️ Drank wine and ate cake with my neighbor last night 🤦🏻‍♀️ Subbing in my son’s class was a blast! However, it showed me that he needs some reading remediation at home. He was completely unplugged during that portion of class. Sad to see it but glad to be aware of it now. His teacher has told me nothing.

9/20 - 130.2. Didn’t meet either non-scale goal yesterday and just really didn’t treat my body well. We went to a brewery, at which I drank, then ate cheeseburger pizza very late. It felt so wrong to do that to my body, that I actually realize I have come a long way in my thinking. It’s rare for me to do that, so instead of beating myself up about it I’m acknowledging that what used to be near-daily behavior (in my 20s) is now super rare. Now I need to move forward and shift my behavior. So far this round I’m not doing great with that.

9/21 - 131.2 🏃🏻‍♀️ Boy we’ve had a social few days here, which has resulted in drinking 3 days in a row. I’ve been through plenty of phases of this but it isn’t where I wish to be. I also have not been mindful of what I’m eating, including so far today. DH is grilling but I need to figure out what veggies we can have with the meat. I shook out of my stupor and got on the Peloton bike for a low impact workout. That made me feel better! Planning to head into Monday on a high note!

9/22 - 131.6 🏃🏻‍♀️🚫 A deserved gain. Using today to reset. It feels like I still haven’t mentally bounced back from vacation mode which is very annoying. Planning on a dog walk and strength training, as well as grocery shopping to prepare for the week.

9/23 - 130.8 🏃🏻‍♀️🚫 Happy to be down a bit after the weekend but not feeling optimistic about reaching my 128.0 goal for the round. Having a good day so far today! Woke up at 6 to lift weights before work and had a high-ish protein breakfast. I got very hungry before lunch but still ate fairly reasonably. Tonight I’m getting together with friends sooo I obviously will have some challenges there.

9/24 - 130.0 🏃🏻‍♀️ Overindulged at my event last night but I’ve been on track today. I even tracked everything before dinner to make sure. My weight today was probably low due to dehydration so I don’t expect to see today’s work pay off tomorrow, but that’s okay. Just need more days like today in a row!

Hi all! So nice to see so many familiar “faces” still here!

It’s been 11 months since I decided to take a break from weighing, tracking, and reporting in. I think that’s been good for a mental and metabolic reset, and now I finally feel ready to get back in the game to lose some weight and improve my fitness. The good news is that I haven’t gained any weight in the time I’ve been gone. The bad news is that between 2020-24 I (re)gained about 75 pounds, which I blame on the aftermath of a very restrictive elimination diet I had been on plus stress plus breaking my regular gym habit during the pandemic. Anyway….

I will begin tracking daily with the beginning of the next round, and use the next 3 days to get back in the habit of checking in and to create my action plan going forward. I look forward to catching up with those of you I know, and getting to know the rest of you.
