I am not sure if I can build back some muscle and expect to lose more. Might be unreasonable but I feel like I have lost alot of muscle even though it generally takes 30 days from what I have researched to begin actually losing muscle. All I can say is that I feel like a noodle .

I plan to get back to a routine as soon as I get over this illness which has really hit me hard. I may need to go into Urgent care, suspect I have bronchitis. I am still dealing with little to no appetite.

I struggled a lot in September with no real weight loss and with a frustrated mindset. September is also the busiest time for me at my work so after this week things calm down significantly. I lost a lot of weight in October last year so I’m feeling optimistic. I’m so close to my 2025 goal!
Thanks for the new thread @ManifestingToday πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I’ve also been struggling. I’ve gained 4 lbs in the last few months. My diet has been more lax for sure. I’ve been eating not so healthy food but still keeping my calories low so a little surprised that I’m gaining. I guess it’s back to the plan.

Thanks for starting us off right @ManifestingToday. I’ll be here for October even though I’m doing two other type challenges in October to focus on several goals. You all have been so inspiring over the last few months! I’m 5’2” and over 60 - considered active and following a Mediterranean diet into the holiday season.

MercyRoth, Kupla71, Michieb125, and SofaKween, welcome back! Hopefully we'll have a few others join us.

I hope you feel better @HappyDonkey75Β , but I agree with SofaKween that given recent travel, you should see a doctor. I know too many that have traveled and been very sick during and after the trip.

I'm feeling stressed and anxious, and distracted with work and just everything. I'm trying to get more sleep. I've been working out, but I haven't been logging food and I know I need to buckle down.

I've been here before and lost nearly 60 lbs but I went to hard too quickly and gained it all back. My plan, going forward, is eat all of the things in moderation and try to be active for at least 150 minutes a week. My ultimate goal is to be ripped by my 40th birthday in 2ish years. Ok, maybe not ripped but it would be cool to see some abs.

Went out to celebrate a big achievement at work, and I didn’t eat a ton but it was salty and I had two drinks. But it was worth it. Lately when I’ve been taking the subway home I’ve been walking past the first stop to board at the next one. This could be a good progression, I can gradually increase the walking time and decrease subway time. This is great for days where the weather won’t allow biking

I did eat more food yesterday than I had in days and I even spent a few minutes doing a few lighter weights for biceps/tricep to try to gently start waking up my muscles. As I expected , I was weak….I know being sick in contributing but I felt better after even doing a little bit of something

@ManifestingToday - I can totally understand the distracted at work thing. I came back to the job I still dislike very much and things that should have been taken care while I was gone , didn't … its really frustrating. I want to start working on my licensure for insurance agent for Medicare Advantage but I am struggling to find the motivation right now.

I did end up going to Urgent care yesterday and it turned out to be somewhat of a waste of time to be honest. They were not willing to give me any antibiotic, stating its likely a virus . They told me testing for flu or covid wouldn't be helpful because if it was positive the treatment would be the same, go home, rest, drink fluids. I told her I was concerned about Pneumonia but she said my lungs sounded clear on exam and I had no fever (I had a fever for the first two days however)

The practitioner was confident that what I was experiencing was due to a virus that several other people in the area are coming in with , based on symptoms. Apparently it just a virus that is going around right now apparently?? but I haven't even been in the area and reminded her I had been traveling out of country recently. That didn't seem to change her diagnosis. Basically she said I can expect to be sick for 10 days or more..She even stated that if she gave me antibiotics she is doing me more harm than good. I know the healthcare community is really trying to scale back on the overuse of antibiotics but I feel like a zpac would do me a world of good right now.

We have a program through work for telehealth that has no cost and they are almost always willing to provide a prescription for antibiotics when I have called. (maybe not the wisest practice) . I had not called them since I thought I was ill enough it was worth being seen, plus I literally have no voice and it requires a phone call with the provider. It might need to be my next move. I am going to give things to tomorrow to see if I improve any (that will be 8 days since onset).

Anyways there I go again being long winded..

Still awaiting transplant confirmation but feeling good in the meantime. I keep saying I'm going to pick up light weights and get back into some workouts but it hasn't been my priority. Work has been ok but I can completely commiserate with everyone having a rough go with that right now. It's really hard to want to perform well or exceed when we see others repeatedly slacking without consequence.

I did lose about 7 lbs during my last two hosp stays, partly from the hosp food LOL. I've been eating what and when I want since to try and put 4 back on. Trying to focus on protein intake as well, need to add some more options to the grocery list.

It’s so good to see you here @tishsmith101 - regarding the light weights….I procrastinated this all year but finally just started in my little home gym. My cue is to keep them visible and record this time for myself in my weekly calendar. Maybe you can start with a small doable goal like every other day for only 10-15 minutes. Best wishes!

@tishsmith101- happy to see your popping in and your doing ok. I can appreciate that weights probably isn't your focus right now, but fueling your body properly during this time is very important so I think that is smart. Do what you can when you can .

Yesterday was the first day in a week that I actually ate all three meals and had a consistent appetite so maybe tomorrow the scale will reflect that. In the meantime, things keep going down. I am not complaining with the continued weight loss but I also know its not due to me hitting my macros and what I would call TRUE weight loss. I suspect once I am back to eating more calories in the right range, I might see an increase.

Still dealing with cough , tight chest and feeling very low energy . I also have no voice still. Its been three days I just want to sleep . I have been taking naps during my lunch hour and as soon as my work day is done. Thinking about going in and getting one of those IV immunity boost bags. I think my immune system is very low right now.

    Atleast its Friday.

Struggling with my weight. Feeling a little down in the dumps. I don’t have much motivation and feel low in energy. I went to my art class the other night and didn’t even want to go. Once I got there I was ok though and enjoyed the class. It feels better if I just push myself to do things I don’t necessarily want to do, like exercise and avoid junky food.

Tomorrow I have my last appointment with my chiropractor. My shoulder and arm feel considerably better so I would say the exercises have helped. They will give me a summary of my treatment and give me some new exercises to do.

@HappyDonkey75 Sounds like you are having a rough time. Yes, at least it’s the weekend so hopefully you can get some rest. I hope you feel better soon.

@tishsmith101 I’m glad you are doing ok despite what you’re dealing with. It’s understandable that weights are taking a back seat right now.
