🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 311 (my 241st).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
- to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
- Would like to lose a pound round.
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

10/7 142.4 – (trend 142.4) ughh! Back to ‘that’ number ! Still I’ll keep plodding on. 0.2 pounds lost this round – at least lower than start weight. 7.46 miles walked.

10/8 - 209.5 - My husband and I should be celebrating our 10 year anniversary on the 23rd of this month, however, it looks like the marriage is over. It's been a struggle for the past 10 years and I was really hopeful that it would work but I don't think that's going to happen. I have been really depressed about it and barely got in a workout on Monday and didn't do anything yesterday. We got into a big fit last night and I didn't end up eating dinner. With all of the crying, lack of sleep last night and no food, I am not feeling very well this morning. But I am going to keep going..

10/08 174.0 Yikes!!! I know this is just a wild swing. After under eating for two days I had a very high calorie day yesterday. End of season party at a local wholesale greenhouse with friends. Left with a very full belly and some new plants to tuck into my garden. We stopped for milkshakes on the way home!
If I had only stopped there and gone to my normal Tuesday boxing meet up.Nope, it was eighty degrees out (the last one of the year) so I made pina coladas and played in my garden all afternoon. Should I admit to eating a whole frozen pizza at 8pm before going to bed?
I enjoyed every decadent moment of it. Let’s hope I got the wilding out of my system!

Talking yesterday with my husband I realized that when I quit smoking 29 years ago, I replaced it with carbs and sugar. That was when my weight started pilling on. 10/08- 168.4 - I'll be out several days starting tomorrow. It's a state meeting for BF's motorcycle association as well as my birthday trip. BF has very limited time off and we are tight on money so we're combining his trip with my annual birthday trip. I'll get to go venture around Saturday while he's at the meeting in someplace new. Friday is our only day to spend together but not sure what we'll find to do. We will return Sunday. I took Monday off work to get any groceries I'm missing and meal prep. This is especially true since I may be traveling for work Tuesday-Thursday (flights Tuesday/Thursday, site visit Wednesday so not gone quite as long as it may seem) and will need to be sure BF has dinner ready for him when he gets home. It isn't confirmed yet, but, if so, I'll be gone essentially this entire round.Focus for this weekend (and if traveling, next week) is to be mindful of intake and aim to get a vegetable with at least one meal, more if possible. Hit step goal - travel may make it difficult but I've done it before I can do it again. Water water water! I was short 6oz yesterday but I gave myself the benefit because I miscalculated and it was bedtime by the time I realized I was missing those oz. Oops. Better today, I swear it.

It also meant cravings, lethargy, and a headache yesterday. Planning to get my act together today. I forewent all activities this morning for cleaning out and reorganizing my pantry. Had so much expired stuff in there 😳 Very pleased with the results and wish I’d taken a “before” photo! Hoping to get the dogs outside on a walk to a playground with 4yo and sneak downstairs for a quick strength session.

@jrago47 My big Kitchen Aid mixer died awhile back. I bought a “dough mixer” for about $120. It is awesome but has led to me making more bread. (My daughter gave me some of her sourdough starter a year ago, so it has to be fed and you know what that means!) About every 2 weeks I make 4 loaves of “‘discard’ sandwich bread” and give them to friends in the neighborhood. It’s a blessing and a curse!😬🤪

Old kitchen floor has been removed and is “raw” right now as the kitchen is getting primed for paint over the next couple of days. I’m feeling good about that. I’m sending hugs and understanding. When my first marriage ended 35 years ago, I was devastated & seriously depressed. My son was two years old and I couldn’t get out of bed. I couldn’t function. Thank God, I lived near my parents and my mom helped me. She provided unconditional love and support & told me just to stay in bed until I couldn’t stand it anymore. After what seemed like forever, I finally got out of bed and pulled myself together and focused on the controllables. Her wise words were “this too shall pass“ and eventually it did… in time. Let yourself grieve during this difficult time. 🙏 I’m thinking you are a fighter and you shall Reign from the Ashes!

10/8: 178.3 📉Well, I’m down 0.2 from yesterday. I had a lot of exercise yesterday and stayed under my calorie allotment. (Sigh) Today is my “free” day from commitments, so not only did I 💃, but I also tried 🏋️♀️with a “Lift with Cee” video. It was a 30-minute, full body workout. Oddly enough, it was actually fun. 😊So maybe I’ll actually do it again.

@ReignFromAshes I'm so very sorry that things turned out this way for you. I have also been there with my first husband and father of my children. It was such a hard decision for me to make, and nothing I ever wanted, but it had to be. My 2nd marriage was wonderful but I became a widow at age 55. I understand your sadness. 🎷 67 yrs young F, 5ft 4 Round 311 (my 241st).
Goals for every round;
- First and foremost, no feeding frenzies – I am not a shark or even a piranha!
- to weigh less at the end of the round than the start
- be happy because I feel that I have made the round count at the end
- to have a totally 10-day binge free round.
- Would like to lose a pound round.
I need to remain consistent - it does work! Good luck for success everyone.
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve target of 130 = back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 135. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.
Updated 20.08.24 – I met up with youngest DB, first time after his DP passed away at the way too early age of 46. DB lives a long way from us, we see him very infrequently & is very introvert, so not a sharer of info 😞. However, he finally opened up to me, it seems that his DPs bad health leading to heart failure followed by kidney, liver failure & then a massive stroke, was originally caused by heavy drinking. By the time he realised he was abusing his body and went teetotal, the damage was too late to reverse. He was on the list for a heart transplant, but his other organs gave up before one became available. This has made me think about how I am abusing my body when I have binges with way too much sugar, fat & salt. I know I am a food addict. I'm going to try to think about this when I am tempted to overindulge, I need to start respecting my body more and think about whether I want to be in the best health I can be. My body has served me so well for 67 years, it deserves to be given the best chance to keep serving me well & I've been really lucky that life has not dealt me a raw health deal, so I must not jeopardize that luck.

10/7 142.4 – (trend 142.4) ughh! Back to ‘that’ number ! Still I’ll keep plodding on. 0.2 pounds lost this round – at least lower than start weight. 7.46 miles walked.
