Nearing end of bariatric surgery weight loss journey

hi I’m nearing end of my weight loss journey and I’ve lost 133 and trying to lose last 25 pounds and dealing with loose skin any suggestions?

hi Kyler.
I lost about 100, got too low, and intentionally put 25’ishback on.
For me, continuing to improve my nutrition and varying my workouts seemed to help. Weight training helped fill some of the loose skin back out, particularly on upper arms, thighs, calves.
I still have extra skin around my waist. I’ve accepted it will always hide my 6-pack, and have learned to camouflage it with high waistlines and (as a chick) Lycra leggings.
Some people talk about vitamin D or dry brushing, but frankly, they sounded like quackery to me, plus I have a strong ick about lotions and oils anyway, so I haven’t tried either. People who’ve reported back here haven’t indicated any degree of success. Maybe someone else can chime in?
I had (TMI, sorry, dude) a breast reduction about thirteen years ago, and my takeaway from that was no way is anyone ever removing anything from me again unless it’s life or death.
You’re much much younger than me and will probably have much more resilient skin than I do, starting my own loss in my late 50’s.
Unless you’re horribly self conscious about it, give it some time to bounce back for a couple years before resorting to extremes.

Thanks Springlering!
I’m only 35 and I’ve lost 133 so far would like to lose 25 more then work on muscle building so hopefully what skin doesn’t shrink back I’ll try to fill out with muscle!

How has your progress been on the last 25? I'm getting near my goal, and definitely am thinking about loose skin. Though as @springlering62 wrote I might be out of luck. For you at 35, it will almost certainly be an issue when you reach goal, and then over six months or so it will heal up quite a bit. As my more advanced age I don't think I'll rebound quite as much. It is a good problem to have, right?

to be honest, I have been wearing compression shirts and that seems to help my loose skin issue and it feels like this last 20 is really hard to come off

Hey @rennerkyler me too. I roped in three friends who all want to lose a little bit into a 20 lbs challenge.
For them it is just a random 20 lbs, for me it is my last 20 lbs. I thought having other eyes on me for accountability and a clear cut goal would help me. At about a pound a week I'm shooting for the end of the year.
I've never really lost the last 20 lbs before, but from what I've read it's hard. Good luck.

My highest weight was 374 (I am a 5'9" 45yo woman). I was 326.4 when I had my surgery on November 13, 2023. This morning I was 150.6. If I can, I will slowly get to 145.
I have plenty of skin, particularly in my abdomen/panniculus and upper arms, that is never going to "snap back" or "fill with muscle" and it all impacts my day to day life, primarily issues with fighting yeast/infections under my panniculus and in my belly button. Also, my upper arms are brutal, even if they don't carry the medical risk of the abdominal skin. When my arms are relaxed at my sides, the extra skin droops down over the back and part of the front of my elbow like a gross flesh sleeve. I'm in the process of trying to get insurance to at least cover the panniculectomy but I will be having that plus a total abdominoplasty, and later, a brachioplasty.
I am at 164lbs in the below picture, it's a great representation of my arms. I have the shorts pulled up high to cover the worst of my extra abdominal flesh, I also wear high waisted french cut briefs to corral the jiggle jiggle, but you can see the crepey looseness of my mid abdomen.

@nicsflyingcircus regardless, you are beautiful and a monument to willpower.
I’m much older than you, lost far less than you, so don’t have as much extra skin. At this point I don’t care too much. In my perfect world, the ring around my belly and the thighs/knees that make the odd crepey flex if I walk in shorts, would go away.
But there’s Lycra for the waist, and I’m too damn lazy to shave anyway, so seldom wear shorts. So, problem not solved, but well hidden.
What do you think you’ll do,if anything?
Remarkable loss. Well, well done! I hope you stop in your tracks sometimes, and say “I did this. I did this! I did this!!!!” I know you’re frustrated, but what an accomplishment and achievement!

If it was just crepey flex I wouldn't fuss with it, but I can grab literal handfulls of flesh in my belly/panniculus area and of course you can see my arms in the picture.
The plan is for a panniculectomy/abdominoplasty first, then later a brachioplasty.
