    @NonnieDoiron congratulations on passing your 90 mark! Your skating story is so funny, I can't imagine trying to skate after I've had a few glasses of wine.

    @WestCoastGirl_1 4 days under your belt - WOOHOO!

    @Walela617 nice job with 2 AF days and coming up on 3!

    @globalhiker I'm rooting for you to get back on track…one year AF would be awesome (again)! You know, I've learned something from your experience. I've always thought that after a long streak that I could possibly have an A day and get back on track the next day. I believe your intentions were to drink on your birthday and then get back on track the next day. And I believed that was what would happen (you've been so strong!). But, one A day turned into more. If you couldn't do it, I know there's no way that I could do it! You need to get back on a roll. After Day 1 it gets easier. But everyone saw how difficult it was for me to get to Day 1. I know you can do it!

    @NonnieDoiron Your skating story is so funny, but true. Drinking definitely adds calories and the bad food choices on top of that. I feel that I've gained weight mostly in the last couple of years. But I have a sidebar on my desktop that plays a slideshow of all the pictures on my HD. I realized that I've gradually been gaining weight for years. My intentions are to stay AF and I'm sure the weight I have gained will slowly come off. When I moved to this valley 19 years ago, I was wearing Levi 501's with a 30-inch waist (yes, growing up we wore men's Levi's…all the girls did).

    @SparkSpringtime69 I hope you can meet your goals. If I can do it…you definitely can! I'm rooting for you!

    @itladyee I'm not a huge baseball fan, but I wanted to watch the game yesterday. I didn't even know what time or channel it was on. But I'm glad the Dodger's won. I'm originally from that area and my dad and uncle used to take me to games.

    @Walela617 I'm glad you found November 🙂 Congrats on 2 days (going on 3). Keep it up! You don't want to reset your app!

    @nbruns83 I'm glad you're off to a good start. I hope you're able to reach your goals!

    I forgot the time change was today. I meant to look at the calendar yesterday. But I forgot. So I was surprised this morning.

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

    Hello LA peeps:

    Popping in with new goals and targets for November. And, love your meme @itladyee - it resonates with me today!
    We had a lovely Halloween with adult kids and grand kids. After they left, and I turned off the porch light for the little tick or treaters I was up late watching some horror show with DH and having a few glasses of wine in a Halloween glass. Note to self to throw those out today as they are just a silly trigger that says let’s party. Last night was ‘my time’ to relax and start a new show (not horror). Then, the World Series was a super surprise for LA!
    I too had similar goals @SparkSpringtime69. Ended up having two small Prosecco’s and one very small glass of white wine (leftover in garage fridge) last night. I do feel good today with the extra sleep and ready for a fresh start to a new week. Heading out to watch my talented grandson play baseball this am!

    This weeks target is 3-4 AF days and then to carry that forward throughout the month. Also looking to try some lower abv% options again on planned days.

    A - 1 (low abv%)

    AF - 1

    @Michieb125 Your goals seem reasonable. I don't think you'll have any trouble reaching them.

    @NonnieDoiron Your skating story reminded me of something. For quite a while, I felt that my balance and coordination weren't very good. I wonder if it had anything to do with being drunk all the time 🤔 When you drink all day long and as much as I was drinking, you really don't feel drunk…but, technically, I was!

    I cannot tell you how elated I am to sneak into November and see my friend, @WestCoastGirl_1 on a 5 day streak!!! WOOT!!! You're doing it and I'm so proud of you!

    We had a great time on our cruise, but I'm glad to be back and settle down and QUIT drinking! I'm planning AF for the rest of the month…and maybe beyond. I managed to put on almost 10 pounds over the last week. I was out of control on that ship. Time to buckle down!

    We entered the adult Halloween contest on the ship as a group and won the top prize. It was a lot of fun, but now it's time to focus on Thanksgiving.

    Happy Monday, all!

    A pic of our car car wash. We walked the parade acting out the whole scene…scrubbing the car and blowing bubbles…lol

    I get so much motivation and energy from you all. Spectacular progress going on in this group.

    AF November so far - 2 days done. And it was a weekend with a drinking husband too. No drinks today except for club soda with my strong lime juice and a pinch of ginger.

    Let's keep going!!!!!

    Happy November!! Reading through it sounds like everyone is doing a great job identifying their needs and sticking to it. @WestCoastGirl_1 your 5 day AF streak is awesome!!

    Final October counts not where I wanted to be entirely, but definitely improved over the last few months. Roughly 70% on target - goal for November is to increase that to 85% on target. I will say a few of those over target days were because I had planned AF and had a drink or two. My overall drink totals are trending downward so I hope to keep that through the holiday season.

    AF - 10, A on target - 12, A over target - 9

    So far for November I am 2 "A" days but on target.

    Thank you everyone for your support! It's good to see you back from your cruise @chicbuc. Congrats on winning the top prize for the Halloween contest. It looks like a lot of fun! It would be awesome if you can go the rest of the month AF…that is my plan. I don't worry about the holidays. Just because it's a holiday or special occasion, it doesn't mean that I have to drink.

    I was thinking about how every year the holidays would mess me up. Since the liquor store is closed on Thanksgiving day and Christmas day, I would stock up the day before. I would usually buy a couple of fifths (I wouldn't want to run out, you know). Sometimes I was doing pretty well beforehand…not drinking in the morning and moderating fairly well. But, by stocking up, I would wake up in the morning and I would automatically mix a drink. The funny thing is since we moved to where we currently live, we don't have any family or close friends nearby. And, my husband rarely drinks. So it wasn't like I was drinking to be sociable. It was just a habit for me to drink on holidays, birthdays, etc. What would end up happening is that I'd be drunk the whole time and really not being able to enjoy myself.

    @globalhiker Congrats on 2 days AF. It's a great way to start out the month. Keep it up!

    @NonnieDoiron You're really on a roll!

    Welcome @GGinCA and @eddiesmith1!

    @eddiesmith1 you seem to have a pretty good handle on things.

    @GGinCA if you're trying to lose weight, even mocktails can slow down the weight loss if you're using mixers with sugar. A few won't hurt…just be mindful.

    Have a great Monday everyone!

    Hi all! October was another challenging month for me. While I did manage to drink less compared to September, I still didn’t hit my goal of 11 A days. But I'm not giving up, I'm focusing on getting back on track this November.

    I think it’s time for me to switch things up and start setting weekly goals instead of monthly ones. For this week (Monday to Sunday), my goal is to limit myself to just 1 A day. Fingers crossed this is the change I'm needing and make progress!

    AF = 1

    A = 2

    @BurnMode05 - I also find it easier to break down a monthly goal into weekly targets based on my schedule or scenarios. You’ve got this!

    Welcome @eddiesmith1 ! It’s amazing how our plans to not drink get away from us. You’re on the right track now!

    @chicbuc I love love love your group Halloween costume! No wonder you got 1st place! Very creative.

    @westcoastgirl1 congrats on the awesome streak!

    @BurnMode05 i love the idea of weekly goals instead of monthly. Ingenious!!!

    AF tonight, although I would love a glass of wine. Banking my AF days with the Miami trip coming up. Meanwhile I got my butt kicked at this great yoga class at the gym that focuses on strength. Oh my Lord! At least I had some oomph today-perimenopause was making me so tired and hungry last week. I’m glad to have some energy again!

    Welcome back @chicbuc! Costume is really ingenious.

    @WestCoastGirl_1 I’m so happy to see your streak! You’re doing awesome. Keep it up!

    @BurnMode05 weekly goals seem more attainable. Maybe that’s why AA does one day at a time. Getting through 1 day can seem less daunting than 7 or 30 days.

    Work is slow but not. Hard to explain. Hoping to get through this week unscathed.

    After not walking all last week, the husband went with me today. Picked up a huge trashcan of litter, jogged a little, and stayed within calories.

    Getting ready to cross stitch some more. I’m almost done with the picture, then I just have to do all the backstitching. Then, I discovered there’s 1 more pattern in the book I haven’t done. So, it looks like I’ll do that pattern before I go back to the afghan I started last year. I may just take the afghan apart and start over. I wasn’t really a fan of the colors or the pattern. So, I’m thinking I’ll make some changes and start over.

    I cooked "Sunday Dinner" yesterday, my favorite Julia Child pork chops, and since it was All Saints Sunday, I chose to join my husband in one glass of wine to toast the memory of our parents and three of his siblings. Bittersweet - I still miss my mama (2009) and my daddy (2012). I wish they'd been at the table with us.

    @NonnieDoiron I think I've got this!

    @nbruns83 I wish I had known yesterday was All Saints Sunday. I would have liked to remember and honor my mom (2010) and my almost 18 yo cat Tinker that we lost this past August. I know it sounds silly, but I really miss my Big Girl! I would have had to toast without the wine though 🙂

    I'm calling tonight AF. I have no interest in drinking at this time. I hope this feeling lasts…I believe it will!

    November (thru 11/3):

    AF - 3 🟣 (6 day streak)
