Michele - I've been thinking of posting something on Facebook that says "I'm going on vacation for a week. I hope no one breaks into the shop at …..(my address)….. and steals a drill press, metal brake…(listing all of the old tools and heavy machinery DH had). I could set a couple TV's out there too. 🤣🤣 I'm kidding. Maybe. I told Roger across the street I was thinking of doing this and if people came to clean it out, could he help load???😁
Good job on the labs, by the way. When DH was alive, he kept a pistol on the end table next to the front door. Ready for anything. He was very accurate with a rifle too. I miss my security guard.
Tracey - you'll be ready for another vacation soon. Once MIL's house is sold and things settle down, hope you'll be able to relax. ((((HUGS)))
Terri - Here's what the neuroscience says about forgetting when we walk through doorways, and some tricks for keeping thoughts on track. I ran across this a couple weeks ago and forgot to post it. Must have walked through a doorway, lol.
Why you forget when entering rooms
Rita - stunning photos of the northern lights! As usual, cloud cover here in my region plus there's light pollution, so thank you for posting. Glad your son is doing better, hope things smooth out for you. (((HUGS))))
Carla - beautiful! Thank you for posting the photo. I remember being a kid in Indiana and we could see the stunning light show where it really got dark without having to look through evergreens. Just amazing.
Lisa - thank you for sharing your tuna casserole recipe. I'm getting some good ideas here. 😉 Crossing fingers you have nice weather for the drive to the VA cardiologist.
Rebecca - lovely photos of Athena and Eli. Growing so fast. Smilers as well.😊
Flea - let us know how the lentil bread turns out. I see lots of folks raving about it on FB, but maybe it's not very tasty and they are just posting to get clicks, lol. We'll see, right?😁 I'll post my report too. Update- just saw a recipe for lentil buns….. these sound easy and good.
Rainy and dismal here this morning. 52F (11C) expected to warm up just a couple degrees. At least no wind or torrential downpours.
Make it a fabulous day, ladies!

I would like to start off by saying thank you to anyone who has served or has military in the family. It is truly appreciated and recognized as to why we live in these wonderful countries. Thank you, thank you, thank you 💜
Wow- didn't have time to post yesterday and I sure missed a lot. Calves sold well. The steer prices have dropped a little but a large package of our heifers topped the sale. They will go as someone's herd replacement and not for harvest.
Nice to have them gone as the cows were ready for them to go as was evidenced but not much bawling after separation and we are relieved of the threat of one dying.
I will be pregnancy testing tomorrow. I never got handy with a rectal ultrasound probe. I just use my hand to feel- old school. Our bulls are pulled so the cows are either really pregnant or open. Easy to tell with experience. We have 2 university students here that are wanting to get into vet school so they'll have the opportunity to run their arms up a few.
One shocker came in the mail. I can start applying for pension 😬😬😬 How is it possible that I am already there ?!?! I won't apply until after I retire which will be when I am at least 65. Benefits increase with amount of time you don't obtain after 60.Carol- heard it was very cold in Florida as well. There was a warning posted to be aware of frozen lizards falling out of trees. Yikes- why I like winter! No lizards in trees here.
Lanette- my nemesis are the mice in our garage. I trap over a dozen a week. If I don't they wreak havoc with the vehicles. I had one set up house in the air vents of my vet truck. One day the heater quit when it was -25C and I was out in the middle of the night doing calvings. Seems he had gotten caught in the fan. My husband peeled him out. They are cute little buggers but just cause too much damage to things.
Rita- my mood is very up and down lately. I was listening to music in the car the other day and got choked up and started crying- over nothing! I thought PMS was bad, but the sadness and rage moments that have accompanied menopause are harder. I have started with a 10 minute guided meditation in the morning which helps me.
Lisa- Barkolaters! HA! I call them Barkie Barkersons. You look pretty badass in those pictures, but also a cutie 😊 I get you at 25- I didn't know what the heck I was doing. Surviving vet school and trying to figure my next step. I smoked in those days too. Sometimes I see someone truly enjoying a dart (as my kids refer to cigarettes) and I am like… that looks soooooo good. And it's been 30 years of quitting cold turkey for me.
Mo- you do beautiful work 🩷 I won't open the door to strangers or stop to help someone in the road. I will call the police to let them know someone needs help. A friend of ours that works oilfield was on his way to a job up north. Stopped to help 2 guys with truck issues. One jumped in his truck and drove off and the other took off in their vehicle. It's sad that it has come to this. I don't trust even if it's just a women- I have heard they can act as a lure.
Tracey- your situation is exhausting in itself. Never mind working and raising a family. You are burning out! Please try to take care of yourself! You have a lot of people depending on you!
Machka- A bad Albertan… pfft! No such thing. Always an Albertan at heart- beef lover or not! Some people are uneasy about my diet. Lots of beef. Little to no veggies or fruit. Have never liked either- veggies often made me gag. If I can stay away from sugar and starchy carbs I feel and perform at my best. I am still working on ending the white stuff bingeing that resulted from severe restrictions in my younger years. It is improving, especially if I eat enough.
Here were our northern lights. Have never seen suck a vibrant reddish-pink. They are usually green.
Take care of yourselves 💕

Melanie - Thank you for that picture. Apparently a massive geomagnetic storm causing the lights to swing this low, as well as the red tint. And yes, I admit that I too despise most vegetables. Unless of course, you drown them in butter or cheese, which kinda defeats the purpose. There are still some I won't eat, even with help. They all taste like green, acrid, bitter dirt, except for beets, and they just taste (and smell) like dirt. Nice clean, dirt, but still dirt. And I ate a few mud pies in my extreme youth. So there's that.
Actually, we're having ham and cheesy rice with broccoli mixed in for dinner. Every second or third week, I put a carver ham in the oven, so Corey can take it for his lunches. He prefers it with the fat rendered, which I totally get. And with enough cheese, broccoli is one of the few veggies I will eat. I just throw some frozen ones in once it's ready and let the carryover heat cook them a little.
Taking a break from replacing screens to snag some lunch. Might go back to it, might finish it tomorrow. Still two or three more of the smaller ones to finish. At least the big 4x6 ones are done. Want to get time in on the rower before I take my shower, too.
Later, my dears,

HI everyone,
I used to wash my hair once a week, but now I wash it every other week. My hair tends to dry out if I wash it too frequently. I need to go back to once a week due to dandruff. Sometimes more if an incident occurs. One time, Bryson and I were giving our lives in a bath, and he accidentally squeezed a boil too hard and it shot in my hair. So I had to wash it with CHG. Gross! Then I had a patient with lice, and I washed my hair before going to bed. They say black people don't get lice because of the grease in our hair. I don't put grease in my hair. Argon oil, if anything. So, I don't want to test that theory.
Last night, my blood sugar dropped to the low 70s, and I was shaky. 70 is not bad, but I react to it. I was going to skip dinner, but had to prep something quick. DH is coming home for Thanksgiving, and Julia wants a family dinner now before we move to Chicago. DS won't be there.😥 So we will celebrate DH's birthday and Thanksgiving that week. DH doesn't want me to cook because I get so exhausted. So, we may order the meal or go to dinner at Golden Coral. I think I will cook the Turkey and dressing and order the sides.
Rose got me up early, so I am working on the closet in the foyer now. I went through the pantry and threw out expired canned food. I packed some things. The boxes are stacked in the foyer, organized by what is bound for Chicago, items to be donated, and those to be discarded. Today is garbage day. I don't know how we are going to store my craft stuff.
Rebecca, your grands are so cute! I know you could eat them up.
Sherry, my PT, has us get in the pool to work out, to decrease the strain on the joints, and then she has floor exercises, bike, and rowing. I swear you will love PT for your sciatica. You can do water aerobics too. As for Christmas, I give my kids gift cards and a unique, actual gift. DS is difficult to get a gift for because he is picky, but I get them a toy of some sort for their stocking. My golden retriever loves opening gifts, too. My mom and I had the most difficult time with her when she was younger, because she wanted to play with everything we brought in to decorate for Christmas. She got so excited about Christmas. She still does. My mom is from a town in TN called Ripley. Now she is in a Nursing home here in Mississippi. Sadly, she has Alzheimer's.
Barbie, Rose is 10, and she greets me like I have been gone for months instead of overnight. She only jumps on me when I come home. It is like a hug. Then she lies down and rolls on her back for a belly rub. Then, she is ready for the outside. I prepare her breakfast and mine, then we go upstairs to sleep. Rose is a chunk at 67 pounds. I give Rose Whimzies to occupy her or a Bully Stick. Rose loves to go and does not take no for an answer. Many times, I give in and take her with me. She has always been quiet in the car. One time, I forgot to take her home from day camp and took her with me to work. I had to call DH to pick her up from the hospital and bring her home. Rose almost knocked me down by running excitedly and jumped into me.
Well, Rose is snoring again. So I am going to take a nap too. Enjoy your day, everyone.

years ago we had a Brittany Spaniel/Border Collie- She was super sweet but also protective.
On Halloween, I would look through the peep hole before opening the door. I looked out and saw two very big teen age boys crouching down, getting ready to scare me when I opened the door. What they didn't know was I had Brittany(we named her before we even knew what kind of Spaniel she was). I opened the door, security screen door closed. She lunged, hit that door and those two boys were screaming and running out of the yard. When it was little kids that came to the door, she was very sweet. She was around little kids all the time with my daycare kids-she put up with so much from them at times.Between things like that, ones cussing at me and just being rude, I stopped handing out candy. Was going to try this year but didn't realize until too late that my porch light was out.

Was looking online for the best price on chocolate- almost candy making season, just a few weeks away before I start. Found Walmart has the best price. We went there, thought about picking some up but decided to wait until closer to using it. Got to the clearance aisle and there they were. 17 bags of Ghirardelli semi sweet chocolate chips- regular price is almost $6, and marked down to .50!!!! Yep, I bought them all. That is about what I use each year. I had thought about cutting back because the prices on chocolate has gone up everywhere. Even Grocery Outlet, their cheapest is $5 now.
I make up to 18 or so kinds of fudge-changes each year, cracker toffee plus many others. After the craft fair on Saturday, I will start making my lists- what I want to make, want to add some new things, and who I want to give to. Already have the cute reusable snack boxes to fill for my zumba class to go with a 3d printed ornament
It is raining today so think I will skip walking the wetlands- I could go, and may still walk, just not as long

I wash mine once a week(usually Saturday night so it is fresh for church in the morning). I am very LOW maintanance with it for the most part. It is long, past the middle of my back and super curly. Wash it with curl type shampoo and conditioner. Use a curl activator product-either gel/lotion/etc and let it air dry over night. Nice long ringlet curls and I just pull the top back a bit. sometimes with a headband, others with a little clip. By Wed, I leave it curly, no combing/brushing, just dampen it and put it in a pony tail- may brush the top to smooth it out. Thursday it is in a braid and like that the rest of the week.
If I brush the curls, it is a big fluffy mess, that is why it goes in a braid.Debbie

we have cameras for security and also so dh can keep an eye on the cats(yep, he has cameras in both catios-the large one has two cameras). We have three for the house- front door, front yard, driveway.
I can see all of them on the monitor right above my deskA small earthquake 3.6 hit a few hours ago- epicenter on the other side of town- I felt it- one quick jolt. Dh didn't feel it.

Today, I balanced to the penny, (after "gifting" the account with $17.97 for no apparent reason). Everything had cleared, and I was off exactly the same amount last week went I tried to balance. Crazy the ramen restaurant charged a tip on top of the cost of the can of Japanese beer I bought. He had forgotten to add it to the bill, but all he did was take it out if the cooler. I guess its the alcohol tax. Anywhoo, that can was $12 on the menu, but was $15 on the bank statement. Also some of the same candies were $3.25 while others same brand different flavors was $2.25. So the fact I got double pork and egg, probably bumped the $25 bowl of ramen up🍜, but the bill total was $73. Yes I bought the candies, some chopsticks bags for my sons, but dang it all added up with the tip. Husband was irked I didn't have a reciept. I was chatting with my friend, and having so much fun, I wasn't really paying attention.🙃🙄
So last night I had the Japanese beer.🙃. It was nice with my bit of rice, fukiori bits, and the fork shredded smoked salmon that Echo Falls makes. I put blobs on my teriyaki nori snack sheets.
This morning it was hard to wake up! But I did, as we didn't attend the gym on Tuesday. I walked slowly on the treadmill. Just did my time. My weight training is going well. Using about 10 of the machines.
Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment at 8 am. So no sleeping in! I need to ask him why my blood pressure is so low at the gym. Today it was 79/64 pulse 101, so I took it again. 87/66 pulse 102.
Today I had my Kodiak waffle with peanut butter and coffee, handful of vitamins, gummies (hair, skin and nails), plus 3 prunes for breakfast. Lunch was a chicken leg (with skin) and part of a thigh plus a salmon/mayo onigiri🍙. Dinner will just be a protein shake and my tea. Today's injection has made me feel a bit wonky. I have eaten 1,289 calories so its all good. Plus got in 95 grams of protein and 81 oz of liquids.
Today I had some slices of apples that had gotten soggy in the bag a bit, so I fed it to the momma deer and her two babies. They hung out in the back yard under the grove of trees to stay dry.😁👍🏼
Well everyone stay warm and dry!

M – I may say it here, but Vince doesn’t know about it! Honestly, I really don’t think something will happen. I know he has friends who use facebook and they may say something to him. But he doesn’t know anyone who checks in here. The chances that someone randomly would see it here and know Vince are very slim The room over the garage is a train room. Why aren’t J&C staying there? There isn’t any running water for one thing. Hope you liked the house! Did you get to see the pool? The upper patio? You KNOW we have cameras all over, Vince wouldn’t be without them. Even in the house so he can “watch the kitties”….lol
Barbie - A few of our neighbors have their trees up. Vince started putting up the decorations. The arches are up, arch for the snowball fight, “fence”, stand for Santa and today we started putting the lights on the “fence”, the controllers are out. Some extension cords but there are lots and lots more coming! The X10’s were hooked up
Hair Washing – I usually wash it when I work the next day. But I do keep the conditioner in. I just let Mother Nature dry it
Lisa – yea for the exercise! I did spinning today. The Y said the pool temp was 82, but it sure didn’t feel like 82!
Lanette – that’s surely one way to get rid of your stuff :) Vince has a gun in his nightstand. It’s in a safe that uses a fingerprint to open it. If ever I had to use it, the robber would probably be in europe by the time I’d get the courage to pull the trigger...lol I went shooting one time with Vince and I consider myself a success...I didn’t hit the floor or the ceiling (not that I didn’t come close)
I had a pic taken for my passport at CVS but couldn’t upload it so I took it to CVS after the Y today to have them put it on a thumbdrive for me. Their machine doesn’t allow them to put the picture on someone else’s drive. What I’ll probably do tomorrow after the soup kitchen is run over to the post office, fill out the form, submit my photo and let it be done. The only thing I don’t know is if I need an appointment to do that. I wouldn’t think so, but you never know…..
Getting warmer here, just had a vest on while we were working outside
Debbie – I firmly believe dogs know little kids. I remember that Sheepdog. One time Jessica when she was little literally put her finger up his rear end. I thought to myself “that’s the end of Jess”. The dog just got up and walked away. She would pull herself up on him. Nothing. One time she said “look – eye”. He just took it all in. But let me brush him the wrong way! I swear he knew I was pg even before I knew. He had been pulling when I walked him so we took him to obedience class. He stopped pulling and I figured he was finally getting the message from the class. Once I found out I was pg, he started pulling again. Almost as if he was saying “well, she knows and will be careful so I can just go on pulling” Dogs know. What a find on the price of that chocolate! I would have bought all of them, too
Here's a pic of the hole that "critter" (or whatever it is) bore into one of our pergolas. As you can see, it bore one hole, I tried to fill it in with that expanding stuff but it bore another hole right above it! Duke energy replaced all the wooden power lines with metal ones (much to the dismay of the woodpeckers) so there aren't any woodpeckers around here. Don't know what did this

Im tired of this and just want to feel better.
Tracy brought e over with kids,I asked Miles what mommy was going to have a nd he said a girl like Delia ..so we will see if his prediction is right when she has the baby

I thought my dh was the only one that set up extra cameras to watch the cats. He checks on them when ever we are gone for even part of the day. He freaks if he doesn't see all of the cats in the catio- he is sure they have gotten out some how.

Hello,
Debbie, I will wash my hair in the am. By the way, how did the MRI go with your mom?
I organized my pills and ordered the ones I am low on. I worked so hard this am with the front closet that I took a nap today. I also played Scrabble. Rose was sad because her friends didn't come over. My tummy was gurgly and had some gas so bad that Rose jumped out of the bed and slept far away from me. So, I took my Linzess, and then I went off and on all day.
Rebecca, I am going downstairs because you reminded me that I need to take my shot, too. I want to take it tomorrow. Write down all the things you want addressed.
As for security, we have a Ring camera.
Allie, I am so sorry you are having a rough time. You need a visiting nurse to check on you. I would feel better if you did.
I am sleepy now. I took my melatonin, so I am going to bed. Good Night, everyone, and I will talk to you next week. Have a wonderful weekend. Allie, I will be checking in on you.

Yesterday's trip to London went well. Travel was pretty smooth, and I took an iconic 'black cab' both ways. Yes, it's ridiculously expensive, but, what a privilege to glide smoothly around Buckingham Palace, with the trees in the park all in their autumn colours.
The view from the restaurant at the top of the Portrait Gallery is amazing, with Nelson's Column and Big Ben. Love it. The food was good, but is very expensive for what it is. I knew that, though. You are paying for the view.
Nice to see my friends, and only be slightly annoyed by P, who has trouble saying no to her family. We took a couple of hours over the meal. The exhibition of Seurat etc was interesting, but I don't think I was in the mood. I had my stick, and I wasn't in pain, but I was conscious of time. I got away just before 3 pm to nab a taxi. Luckily, I got on the Gatwick Express train, so I was home before 5 pm.
I made my life easy with a lot of taxis, and tried to relax about the price, telling myself it was a one off, and I am privileged to be able to use them. I did enjoy the ride through the Royal Parks, and read my Maigret on the train.
I'm glad I did it.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

We go on the 25th to get the results. She did ok during the MRI but said her back and hips really hurt from laying on that hard table- It took an hour to do the MRI

Melanie - that's a lot of mice. Do you use a mouse trap that sits on top a 5 gallon bucket? I haven't seen any evidence of Mr. Rat anymore, so hopefully he's mummified. If any come to the funeral, I have a snap trap and a live trap but I like the looks of that 5 gallon bucket "slide". Thankfully only get one mouse in the garage each year. There are a couple little gaps under the garage door, and I liberally sprinkle hot sauce right there. I had something last year in my potting shed that was walking along the top of the beams and knocking things off, I think it might have been a squirrel or chipmunk. Hot sauce stopped that activity quickly.
Rebecca - so far I haven't seen any automatic tip additions at the couple places I eat. Debbie gets such great looking meals at good prices in her neighborhood, I'm going to shoot down there in the teleporter. I can swing by and pick up you and Lee if you want.😉
Friday here. Heading out early to get shopping done this morning. Then T is stopping by and can't wait to tell me about a part-time job she is applying for at a cemetery helping out in the office. I think that would be the perfect job. Lots of history to ponder over, just think of those old files. 😉

Hair washing - two cents… I'm a once a week gal here too. Just always have been. I have natural curl and when I was young I desperately wanted straight hair, so I straightened my hair. 🙄😏 It took hours! I didn't want to have to do it more than once a week. Then, when I succumbed to "loving" my hair, it was a habit and my hair was "used to it". IF I feel that's it's grungy in the middle of the week, I will wash quickly in the sink, but I generally wait it out. I'm like Debbie, but wash quickly Sunday morning before church.
Love and Blessings,

😣 This was me this week when I tried to change our T Mobile account into my name. What a hassle and I'm hoping to get it straightened out this morning.
Barbie ~ I did order a battery powered blower from Amazon. I hope I can work it.
Loved the photos posted of the aurora borealis.

😀 Lisa, thanks for mentioning "Game of Wool" on You Tube. I watched Episode 1 yesterday afternoon and loved it. Then watched another video of the knitter who was eliminated telling about actually doing the project. I remember watching Tom Daley diving in the Olympics and hearing about his knitting. I think he is a charming host.
😀 I washed my hair only once a week until my last visit to the dermatologist when she told me to wash it twice a week.
😀 My mother made a great tuna casserole and I made them in the years of my first marriage when we were struggling financially. Now I just eat tuna with tomatoes and mayo,—easier and fewer ingredients.
😀 Carol, be kind to yourself when you first use the blower. Think of yourself as a six year old first using scissors. With practice you'll get better. I haven't tried to change anything with T Mobile. I still have Jake's phone and use it for a variety of things. My biggest hassle was with Astound Broadband. I'm not sure the name ever got changed on the account, but they are getting paid and I'm getting my Wi-Fi so I don't care.
😀 Amazon brought my latest order after the dogs and I went to bed (after dark). We didn't hear them. I am so grateful for my safe neighbourhood.

Heather - Sounds like a posh London kinda day-trip. Glad you're glad that you went.
Barbie - So glad you picked up Game of Wool - I really enjoyed it too, though I found the host a little odd. I remember, now that you've mentioned it, the news about one of the swimmers being a knitter. which makes more sense now that he's the host. I think it's awesome that there is more than one man involved with it all. And am getting a little attached to Holger, bless him. He might be a little cranky, but he's a heck of a knitter. The second of the series is up, as well, and the third will involve crochet, so I'm looking forward to that one even more.
Had an odd turn yesterday regarding mortality - might be a trigger for some, so I put it in a spoiler.
I had a weird turn yesterday. I did go back to my task and finished replacing the final screen I wanted to get done. As I was putting away the tools and throwing away the scraps, I thought, "Well, that's the last time I'll have to do that." The screens that I was replacing were at least 25 years old, possibly 40… and the chances that I'll live past 90 are pretty darn slim. But the thought kind of shocked me.
I don't dwell on my mortality, but it is tending to show up more and more in just my general thought processes, usually without warning, like that one. It's an odd feeling, knowing that I've lived more than two thirds of my life. Not upsetting, just… odd.
I think I need to go dig out my BBOD (Big Book o' Death) again and get it up to date. That's always like taking a weight off my mind. Plus it's probably time to start putting away a bit of money into a savings account that is designated for a funeral/burial/cremation etc., whatever the other thinks is necessary. We both have life insurance, but all things considered, it's becoming less and less necessary. If we can put away the money ourselves, we can save about $2,000 a year on that alone.
Corey wants cold pasta salad with last night's ham for dinner, and will make himself a hot dog. I'll probably skip that part and just eat some of the salad. It will have protein in it, and I really have to be in the mood for a hot dog.
Already 61 (16 C) and supposed to get up to about 77 (25 C). Rain will be here Wednesday and drop the temperature, along with it.
Later, my babies,
Love,

Terri—- HAHAHA, my alien bros did a good job on your house (and others) installing those memory wipers! 😁👽️ Michelle, BWAAAAA, my bros got you too! And Lannette!
Barbie: My 11 pound Lucy sounds just like your 50 pound Annie! And FYI, she is just as problematic as the 50 pound dog as she gets between your feet and tangles your legs. She prefers cardboard and water bottles to her toys! The vet sent her home with pain pills (beef flavored) for the day after the spaying. Well, she somehow got the bottle off the table the same day she came home from the docs, got the child proof cover off, and ate them all. She slept good that night! I didn't know she had done that until the next day when I went to give one to her. I found the bottle on the floor all chewed up. Glad they were only an NAISD not narcotic. Didn't bother her at all!
Machka - We use a camera in the front of our RV to watch for campers stopping or any problems. Actually that camera is what brought the borealis to our attention! We did not see it last night. Only the first night.
Michelle, how big is that hole? When I lived in TN, we had carpenter bees that would make holes like that, about 1 in across. Perfect hole that looked like it was drilled in the wood. We would fix one hole and another would appear right beside it. We ended up spraying bee spray in the holes then plugging them. The only way to get rid of the bees and stop the holes.
Thought for Today:

Lol, my dose day is an exciting event! Its that one thing that's helping me lose this weight!
Doctor explained that the cuff machine at the gym is not reliable being that it has the whole you put your arm thru, hard to get a true reading. I am getting a home cuff from my sister, who ordered one but never used it. Doctor told me to stop taking the Lisinopril 20 mg tablet for the next 2 weeks and see what my BP is. These are all the stuff I was taking:
It can get confusing on how much of things a person should take. My doctor seems to be of the school of thought that less is more better. Which is fine by me. I think he told me once before that the pre biotic hair, nails and skin gummies are poppycock!😂🙃. Same with the fiber gummies!
