Over 100 weight-loss

Hi. I’ve been on this journey on and off for what feels like my whole life. I was close to my goal—or at least making real progress—until I went through a major loss over 10 years ago. Since then, my weight has gone up and down. Today, I looked at myself in the mirror and really saw myself, and I felt disappointed. I know I need to make an active change.

For the rest of this year, I’m focusing on what I put into my body and breaking the cycle I didn’t even realize I had created. My friend and I are planning a vacation next year, and I told her that I’m going to actively work on losing weight. That’s my deadline. I’m giving myself until October 1, 2026 to lose at least 50 pounds. I know I need to lose more, but I don’t want to overwhelm myself and end up feeling discouraged or sabotaging my own progress, which I’ve done in the past.

If there’s anyone out there who’s also above the 300 mark—whether it’s 300, 350, 400, or more—let’s do this together. I would love to have a support system. For as long as I’ve been trying to lose weight, I’ve mostly done it alone, and that’s when I tend to put myself down or let my emotions take over. That’s when I stop doing what I know I should be doing.

I don’t want to be super skinny. I’ll be happy if I can reach 200 pounds—that’s my ultimate goal. I’m going to take it 50 pounds at a time, even if it takes a while. I need to make this change right now.

I just watch a great YouTube vid of a guy who lost a bunch of weight over the course of one year.

Then a year later he made a second video on trying to maintain his weight loss over the course of a year. It is solid and motivation.

His youtube name is "HowHardIsIt" and the video is titled "How hard is it to maintain a 100kg weight loss for a year "

    I recommend it.

I'm not currently over 300 but nevertheless could lose 100# comfortably. My present goal is to go down to <240. I've been near goal weight before but after a few months of maintaining that, I fell off the wagon and I think I was doing a lot of emotional eating. Then my Dr and I changed my meds... and I went even higher.

So just to clarify, what benchmarks would you like to monitor and post for this challenge? How often?

    Thank you 👍
