I am glad that the surgery to remove your parathyroids are showing its positive effects!💖👍🏼 I think the goal now is to adapt to all these changes your body has gone thru. Its nothing short of a transformation.😁🙃. But I bet its so nice not to carry around all those liters of soda like Machka mentioned! I am getting there! We are all just fed up Pepsi Cola centers saying this soda business is poppycock!😂😂 Big hugs at 6:25 am!

Barbie- bless you..you have a great routine that keeps you fit and trim, and eat correctly which is wonderful.

But after each operation,I just feel lower and lower .I know i need protein and vegetables and fruits

But I dont have the energy to even get up to prepare meals..I will look for some prepared store made meals and then get some containers and keep those in the fridge and freezer

Pandemic fall out? This morning, I was thinking about how the pandemic has changed our lives - many of us who had compromised health or medically fragile family members stopped interacting with groups, and still do. In some cases, facilities were shut down and in other cases, we chose to self-isolate. Some long term friendships of mine stopped and have not resumed. And, now living alone, I've gotten used to keeping my circle tight. I wonder what my life would have been like if the pandemic hadn't happened? I probably would have stayed a little more socially active. Just pondering.

Lisa - you and Corey got a lot done this weekend, your place looks great. Love the photos.

Tina - I've been on a protein spree too. I hadn't been logging for weeks and realize my protein intake has decreased - my goal is 90 gm so I'm ramping back up. However, coffee and nuts are natural GLP-1 sources, so I don't have the appetite I once did. Threw together some "chaffles" this morning - chicken, shredded cheese, egg - batter put into little waffle maker.

Sarcopenia & protein: I watched a short interview this morning with Dr. Rhonda Patrick and Dr. Peter Attia. They were discussing sarcopenia - how we lose muscle as we age and become more frail, and what to do about it. I was surprised they said protein intake - 1.2 gm/Kg was even more important than resistance training in keeping muscle, although strength training and exercise rank right up there for helping with balance, bone health, glucose management, etc.

Cybill Shepherd & Bruce Willis: By the way, we were discussing the final chapters of our lives, friends and relatives passing, etc. I kind of got a jolt this morning. I saw a photo of Cybill Shepherd and she is nearly unrecognizable, she's so frail. And of course Bruce Willis has severe memory problems now, he is also frail. Moonlighting was my favorite TV show for a while and now this, lol. (They can't all be Betty White!) They must be a lot older than us, right?

    Make it a fabulous week!😍

It's turned cold here at last, after the warmest autumn in history. I did get myself out of the house to toddle around the corner to book a hair appointment for next week. My down coat only just zips up! Oops! But at least I can get it on. It must be 20 years old now.

My brother says he is feeling better now and has resumed his volunteering. Eating is much easier. John had been out to spend his gift token, so I texted him to thank him. So glad things are improving.

    MFP Weekly Check-In 11-17-2025

Barbara on the Southern Oregon Coast -

    Week ending:   11/16     11/9

    Avg WT         132.2      132.2  stable

    Avg steps      4450      4758    ;{

    AF days          86%      43%      ;)

Ps@2s habit persists. No knee and shoulder PT , BB&B/PT knee lifts, split squats, dynamic balance,  or chair yoga, foo. Step/activity trend going in the wrong direction.  Activity = endorphins = more energy for activities.

    Reverse is obviously true.  ;P

Hope to catch up with the thread soon!

Sue in WA - Weight stayed the same. Did okay on exercise but missed Tuesday due to phone call from old friend in SD and I wasn't watching the time. Not as good as last week watching the calories. Still need to up water consumption.

Lanette in SW WA State - Weight staying in range. Steps avg. this past week: 7068, down a bit from last week but still OK in my book. Walking 1 - 2 times per day after meals, carrying weights. Also walking more outside around the property, spreading birdseed and filling bird feeders 2 - 3 times per day. Plenty of steps. SWSY twice a week.

I could exercise my voice box, but oh poor hudband! He thinks opera is the noise a cat makes when you pull its tail. So there's that. I need access to a sound proof room. I need to explore that...🙃😁

Oh today I actually jogged to about 3 songs. Got my heart rate up to 148/153. Felt good! Picked up my two boxes of Zepbound from the clinic. Yay!

Today's breakfast was a prune, yogurt and a protein waffle with peanut butter and some honey. Lunch is a leftover slice of pizza from our outting to a nice pizzeria, then cucumbers with dressing. Dinner is a protein shake, 2 fish fillets and tartar sauce. Then my tea. Pretty simple day.

Bruce Willis has frontotemporal dementia which doesn't necessarily affect the memory, or at least not at first. Apparently it is one of the more common dementias to affect people under 60.

Cybill Shepherd is 75 and Bruce Willis is 70. So yes, they are older. 😊

Yay, soup! I made chicken stock with white beans, chicken and lots of spices the other day. Remember to count it as you liquid intake for the day! Also if you use beans, or boullion, drink lots of water because you'll hold onto all the sodium.🙃

    Yay soup queens unite!
