OMG coliechaser - I SO feel your pain. Let me tell you a story about my mo-in-lay :grumble:

I got married on my 21st birthday... To make a long story short, I "met" my husband on-line in the spring of '04 while he was in Iraq. We emailed/phoned for 9 months. When he came home for his two week leave we got engaged, and were married two weeks after he came home for good.... After the wedding, we were opening presents - I came to one that had no card, no name and I had no idea who it was from. I opened it, and it was a 2XL Big Dogs shirt. I assumed it was for my hubby (he's 2XL). I ended up calling his mom to see if she knew who gave it to him.... She was like "oh, that was a b-day present to you from me..." I was mortified. Three years later I found out that she had given all the daughter-in-laws (I was the last of 4) a sexy nighty for their wedding presents. Needless to say I still haven't forgiven her.....

So.... I feel for you. I'm so sorry she did that! Be the better person though. She probably has to make someone feel bad to make herself feel good.... You just happened to be the target. Keep your chin up, and don't let her get you down! Continue with your journey, and show her what you are really made of!!!

I feel for you girls, I have a wonderful mother-in-law. Its my husband that can be a pain in the behind. Even though he says he's kidding around I still don't like him refering to my weight. He will come up and give me a hug and jiggle my butt fat, man, do I hate that. Or he'll pinch my sides and say, "what's this, your fatback?" It just really ticks me off. I don't comment on the big ole bald spot on his head or his belly that he wears his jeans under, etc. I think he should have the same respect for me and not say stuff since I don't say anything to him. Thanks for letting me vent too. :ohwell:

You got him right! He must think you are special, and so do we. Don't let it get you down Micheal Phelps didn't win a gold medal the first time he took a dip in a pool, you just have a little work to do to win yours.
We are all behind you, don't give up, we are all in the same boat rowing for the same place, power in numbers! :flowerforyou:

Girl - GIVE IT BACK TO HIM. Give him a quick, "Yeah, but I'm losing weight so that back fat will soon be gone, but you HOWEVER will never be able to regrow hair, Baldy!"

Or maybe a good, "I look a helluva lot better with a paunch than you do, Tubby!"

    MEN! :grumble:

(But I agree.... it's best not to stoop to his level.)

This thread must have been stuck in my head yesterday because last night I had a dream about my MIL. We get a long pretty well in real life but in my dream she was treating me like I wasn't going to be around for very long and I kept wondering why, since hubby and I have been married for 17 years!!! I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't talk to me or wouldn't try to get to know me. She would just hang out with the other daughter in law. I was so upset. Then I woke up and remembered this thread.

I'm telling you guys, I am sooooooo hooked on this site!!!!!
