I did a body pump class for the first time today. Unfortunately I don't have a HRM and I have no idea how to count the exercise calories. Any ideas? It definitely doesn't burn as much as running but more than lifting weights.

My new gym has body pump classes and I basically joined the gym for all the great classes, going to have to try this one! :D
  • I do a Les Mills Body Pump class and end up burning approximately 400 calories during the 1 hour session... hope this helps...

    Good Luck! ;)

I do a body pump class also. I have one today. I usually do cardio before or after. I try to estimate calories. I would do as the others suggest and log it as circuit training general.

I do Body Pump all the time. I average 400 - 450 (depending on how much weight I use). I am 5'3" and 160 lbs. Hope this helps!

Also, try Body Combat if they offer that and you hvaen't tried it! I usually burn 600-650 in one class!!
  • I love this class!!!!! I also log it as circuit training.
