I don't wear make up,but I've seen some chicks at the gym with that stuff caked up on there face.
Looks awful after they been sweating..Make up be running all down there face and shirt.0 -
Well are you planning to flirt at the gym? I'm so focused on lifting that I hardly notice people around me, unless you have legs to die for then I would catch a second glimpse in your direction.0

I like wearing makeup just because it makes me feel beautiful. I find that feeling good about yourself while working out, helping my self esteem and boost my energy. I even try to wear the cutest workout clothes possible. Especially with all those mirrors everywhere!0

I'm not sure why it would be frowned upon? You're working out to look your best. You wear makeup to look your best. Hmmmmm.
What I can tell you is that working out with some brands of foundation can clog your pores when you sweat. And that is never good. I frown upon that! LOL
I would definitely suggest a Stay Put foundation. And of course waterproof mascara. Don't want to look like the Joker once you start sweating.0 -
I try not to - my mascara runs when I sweat then I look like a porn star0

I have makeup on, but only because I stop at the gym on my way home from work. I use Bare Minerals, so it's not like I have a lot of makeup on anyways. It's usually gone by the time I'm done working out because I sweat it all off. LOL0

My point of going to the gym is to get hot and sweaty. Make up smearing down my face doesn't sound appealing at all.0

so i was wondering , is it ok to wear makeup at the gym or is it frowned upon?
when i use to workout after work, i use to have make up on , but now that i workout early in the morning, i don't bother to wear make up. so what do you think ?
In the mornings when I workout I don't wear makeup but if I go to the gym later on that day and I have makeup on I usually just keep it on and just worked out.. I don't put on make up before I workout.. It's only on if I had it already on that day or something... It doesn't matter what people think. One way or another at the end of a hard workout (make up on or off) your going to look super sweaty and drench lol... That's just me I guess lol0 -
Lol...to each their own..I don't..haha, and by the end of my workout, I'm a big sweaty hot mess...
I don't know about everyone else..but I sweat profusely when I workout super intense..in fact I wore it a few times to a few of my Zumba Demonstrations...and let's just say it was freakin' crazy irritating..trying not to smudge or smear it..0 -
not okay to wear make up at the gym, clogs pores.
only time i have is if i went straight from work and didnt bring a cloth to wash it off.
other than that i rarely wear makeup and i prefer not to look like a raccoon after a workout

well
when I was a SAHM I didn't understand people there at 10am who weren't from work in full make up. I mean.. I don't get applying it just to go sweat it off.
But now there are days I put it on in the morning, and don't wash my face before gym.
I think after work it's normal.
Honestly though, who cares.0 -

I usually work out after I get off work, so I already have make-up on. But I only use a little mascara and sometimes eye shadow, nothing else so it doesn't run or get all over or anything. If I go Saturday mornings right after I wake up though, I don't put make up on because I'm just going to shower right after anyways0

I say, do what you want to do! It's no one else's place to judge if you wear make up or not. I usually go to the gym with make up on because either I have already been at work or out running errands anyway. I end up sweating if all off anyway but who cares? If someone has a problem with it...that's weird and they need a hobby.0

I frown upon people caring about what other people will think.
Yeah, when I see some chick dolled up in bedazzled workout gear and full makeup on, I laugh to myself, but if she's happy with what she's doing, that's all that counts.0 -
I only ever intentionally wear make up for bellydance class... and even then very rarely, and barely like waterproof mascara and eyeliner and maaaybe some eyeshadow.0
-
If you're wearing it at the gym first thing in the morning, you're going to catch some flack (especially from the ladies). But, at the same time, I don't go out of my way to take it off before hitting the gym in the evening. So, if it's residual, I wouldn't worry.0
-
I don't typically wear make up at all, but i suppose if you went to the gym at lunch i mean you're already wearing it. but i agree those who wear LOADS and then actually workout look scary once they start to sweat.0

I would not wear face makeup (powder, foundation, etc.) because it just cakes up your pores that are supposed to be sweating. I go wearing eyeliner though because I cannot go completely face naked. I don't wear mascara because it might run.0

I heart you.
If I'm wearing makeup, it's because it's after work and I wore it all day.
Honestly, I don't even wear makeup to work anymore, so it's very, very rare for me to have makeup on.
I do agree with Lorina though. I think it's funny when women primp to go to the gym. Yeah, it's nice that your sports bra is cute and your hair is perfect, but aren't you there to work out? It reminds me of the women who go to the trainer I use, who request the AC be turned up so they "don't sweat"0 -
I say no makeup. It runs and looks nasty. Just my opinion, but the gym is where you go to sweat and make fat cells cry. Not necissarily to look cute. The cute/beautiful/hot lookin part is sliding into those skinny jeans. with in reason, I don't care how I look at the gym. I am there to do a few things 1. make fat cells cry 2. push my body and mind 3. get stress out.
the thing I really could do with out is the giant mirror though I hate seeing myself out of the corner of my eye. LOL
Happy sweatin!0 -
If I go before work , no make-up! But if I go after work, I go looking like an Office Admin in work out clothes. Either way when I get out of the gym I am so red faced and sweaty that it doesnt matter what I looked like before!0

I find its generally the hot girls that wear makeup there.
And the other ones are hatin on em for whatever reason they can find.
Ya, I said it.0 -

agree 100%! if you want to, then do it, if you don't, then don't. if someone's that concerned about if you have make-up on or not, then they aren't at the gym for the right reasons!0 -
