The Skinny for Santa Challenge Thread (CLOSED GROUP)

Hello everyone!
Here is the link to our table: http://skinnyforsanta.blogspot.com/
So here we all are. We have 12 weeks until the final weigh in on the 23.12.11! I decided not to put the final weigh in on Christmas Day as that is just cruel, but rather the Friday before. We will be opening presents on Christmas Day not jumping on the scales! (At least that is what I tell myself but I know I'll be on them).
I've decided to make this thread for everyone to encourage one another, post updates about the challenge and just generally see how everyone else is going. I think that by being accountable for our weightloss each week with 24 other people standing by to see how you go, we are likely to be allot more successful!
The table will be updated every Australian Friday. I will send you all around a message on my Friday every week asking for your current weight, you don't have to work out your weightloss or anything like that! I'll handle all the maths :P
Now if any of you ever feel that my Private Messaging is getting intrusive or irritating on Fridays and would like to opt out of the challenge, I will grey out your area in the challenge table.
Also, Please let me know if there is any errors on the sheet and I'll fix them up right away
Together we all want to drop: 369.8. Which looks like something like...
So here it goes! 12 weeks til Christmas guys! Let's shed these pounds!
P.S If anyone has any great ideas for the weekly challenge, Please let me know!

Friday's weight: 189.5
Thanks for putting this challenge together and keeping everything updated Sarah.0 -
Fridays weight for me was 178. After flirting with the idea all week long, my scale decides to be nice and reward me with the 170's. I haven't seen them since I was 19 and I wasn't happy about them that time.0
-
We can so do this! Good luck!0

Hello guys!
Hopefully the chart is all up to date now and correct :P Sorry for the mistakes Please double check yourselves to see if I have made any mistakes. I've already stuffed up one person!
Happy first day on the challenge.

Good luck everyone :-) And thanks for doing this Sarah!!
I'm out tonight with my best mate and am bound to get slightly drunk as it's been ages since we've been out together...but hey, you gotta live sometimes right? And hopefully, I'll stick to lower calorie drinks like vodka instead of wine!!
And i will be upping my excercise next week with the aim of working these drunken calories off from tonight...woops!!

LOL I lost 3 lbs of water weight today in spin class. :O Insanity! So I think monday I'll have to have a true weigh in to see where I stand.0
-
I hope everybody is having a great, calorie-burning weekend!0
-
Well, it is a lifestyle change Gem, so you're not going to go the rest of your life without a bit of fun every now and again! In the long term, you'll be happier and more likely to stick to the change if you let yourself relax occasionally.
Eww Ebby! That's allot of sweat :P Still, for a loss of 2 pounds, who is going to complain :P
I hope everyone has been good too Caroline0 -
Good luck everyone with this awesome challenge! It will be fun to see how everyone does next Friday.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Ok....yesterday was my first "cheat" day.....not doing one of those for a while. I felt sick all day and didn't even eat that much. I just ate foods that my body isn't used to anymore. Today, I'm back to it. My hubby wants to go to Taco Bell for lunch (great....), so I went online and looked at the menu and chose a lower calorie lunch that I would still like. I feel better about it now. I'm just going to drink water like crazy today!0

I'm glad you're feeling better now. That's so not fun.
I made a similar mistake yesterday when my family brought home so leftover store bought cupcakes from a get together. I was craving something sweet (which I don't usually have around the house since I can't stay out of it) and when I saw them I tried to resist, but after an hour they were calling my name, so I had a vanilla one. It didn't really satisfy my craving, so I did the most ridiculous thing and had a chocolate one a bit later. Boy did I pay for it. Not only did I throw over 500 calories down the drain but I also had an upset stomach the rest of the night.
I'm getting better, but obviously I'm still working on my will power. Also, after making myself sick yesterday I'm not even craving one of those darn cupcakes even though there are still some hanging out in the kitchen. I guess that's one good thing about over dosing on those sugary devils yesterday. Ha ha ha.0 -
Oh my goodness... the last 24 hours was my last "Cheat day" until Halloween, when I'll allow myself some candy/treats from the kids treat bags. It was Thanksgiving and I don't have any damage control to do because I allotted these calories last week by eating a bit less and changing up my workout routine, but egad, I feel like blarghety blargh from all this food the last 2 days. On to normal eats and no more cheats until the end of the month, weighing in on Tuesday... :O
TheTonyPony, I know right, I get to do it again on Tuesday! LOL, Tres excited.
Remember Monday's are a perfect day for starting fresh everyone, hope your all doing well and enjoyed the weekend, time to dig deep and get in some healthier eats for the next while.0 -
Having organized this challenge, I feel brilliantly obligated to behave myself! My Mum was terribly nasty tonight, baking a huge pie that I know is DELICIOUS but probably has a days calories in every slice. Butter, potato, sweet potato, thick pastry, more butter... I know she means well when she tells me to eat, but I just don't want to eat that.
So I scrounged around and found something good to eat. I know I'll have to be honest when logging, so I don't eat anything I wouldn't want you guys seeing.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this cheerleader role!
Go go Skinny Santa crew Go!
Ohh and I have to beat Saint on the scales this week! I forgot that was inspiring me too, a bit of friendly competition.0 -

You are awesome!! This week I stayed very accountable to my journal as well, though I'm not proud of my Thanksgiving eats, it was actually a bit more tame than past years. -.- Uh yeah, hahah. But I can't wait to see what me tummy and bum changes into the more I stick it with you motivating folk. Even for people who don't have a lot of weight to lose, it's always important to have goals and keep making changes, not just to be thinner but fitter, and I'm glad I joined this group.0 -
Thanksgiving is totally going to be a cheat day this year, same with my birthday, but I think I can survive. I've gotten better with my over eating.0
-
Happy Tuesday Just had to post this to keep myself accountable- Goal is to drink MINIMUM 6 cups of water per day until friday. My brother just said that I should make sure the pounds I lose aren't water weight and now I'm scared my 2 pounds lost from today are just from dehydration!0
-
Just dropping in to wish everyone well! Hope you are all enjoying your Wednesday night!0
-
Feel like I haven't posted in a while. Hope everybody is having a great week so far. I feel like a slacker in my exercise compared to last week...but I think this week my body is telling me to rest a little bit, and not EVERY workout needs to burn upwards of 900 calories.....ya know? I'm telling my body that it's okay if I only burn 200-300 calories.
It always makes me feel better when I explain myself to others, anybody else?
Well, can't wait for Friday to see what we've all accomplished this week!0 -
Ohhh man here comes friday, gonna bust out some clean eats compared to last week the next few days to see if I can make some changes. Amazing how a holiday with drinks and bad food can creep into the week, weaning myself off the peanutbutter addiction slowly but surely, lol.0
-
Not sure how much the scale will show this but I went in tonight for a final fitting of a bridesmaid dress that I had to have altered because it wouldn't zip up past my rack and it was now to big! The poor lady made the dress bigger and now has to make it smaller.. Yeah for me I guess!0
-
I'm going to be staying home this weekend instead of spending it at my brother in-law's place because we drink SO much when we're together and by Saturday night my whole thought process is "I'll just do better tomorrow." This weekend the only date I have is with my dusty elliptical!0
