I don't mind them so much on here, because the photos are mostly for our personal reference, but I hate when people use them as profile pics on dating sites. (I run a dating advice forum and people post profiles for review... I'm not trolling the sites.) On a dating site, your profile pic is your one chance to create a great first impression, so why use a photo that says, "I have no friends who will take my picture for me?"

Any tips for the masses on how you mount a cell phone on a tripod or stand it on edge?

THAT makes sense! I did the online dating thing and mentally discounted anyone who didn't have at least a photo or two where they weren't the one taking the shot.

I do both, but yeah, you can't see exactly what the picture looks like before you take it when you use a timer. I usually end up with an ugly face, or a weird fat roll or something.

I'm clueless. This got me curious, looked on my phone and if the camera has a timer, I can't find it. I have a Iphone 3G - any help?

You need to download an app for that.

Please flush the toiliet before taking the pic.

No one has friends to take pictures for them? That would solve the focus/appearance in the pictures. I can understand the before pics not being something you want a friend to take, but what about a girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse?

I don't post pics from a privacy standpoint, no one needs to know who I really am but me.
