    I do both, but yeah, you can't see exactly what the picture looks like before you take it when you use a timer. I usually end up with an ugly face, or a weird fat roll or something.

    I'm clueless. This got me curious, looked on my phone and if the camera has a timer, I can't find it. I have a Iphone 3G - any help?

    No one has friends to take pictures for them? That would solve the focus/appearance in the pictures. I can understand the before pics not being something you want a friend to take, but what about a girlfriend/boyfriend/spouse?
