A man must be must be swift as the coursing river.
With all the force of a great typhoon.
With all the strength of a raging fire.
Mysterious as the dark side of the moon.0 -
A good father
Doesn't do drugs
Doesn't cheat
Never has to degrade others to feel manly
Those are pretty easy standards.0 -
Well, I can tell you what qualities my hubby has that I consider most important:
Patience
Kindness
Self-control
Gentleness
Compassion
Integrity
Selflessness0 -
A REAL man is someone who is honest (even when it hurts),0

That's too funny! I'm sitting her watching Mulan with my kids!0
-
Honest, Trustworthy!! loving, kind, loyal, ( oh wait thats my dog.) : )0

I agree with most of what has been said so I'll add, a man who learns from life's challenges and works on being a better person rather than just blow it off or pass the blame. Also being confident without crossing to far into arrogant.0

My man is hard working, loving, a great father, a wonderful listener, a good cook, a fantastic lover, a mechanic, a maid, a pet groomer, an accountant, a comedian. He is my rock, my north star. He pulls me back when I've gone too far. I does not judge me. He knows what to say when I'm sad. He knows how to make me laugh at a situation and myself when needed. I knows exactly what to do and say when I've had a bad day. He knows me. Every square inch of me from the top of my head to the tip my toes. He knows my mind almost better than I do. And he knows all of this because he loves me enough to have taken the time to learn it all- no matter my shape and size. He's a real man. Anything less is a walking penis.0

This is an opinion-based question, so all of you self-righteous whiners can sit this one out. This isn't meant to be a debate.
In YOUR opinion, what makes a man a "man"? Kindness, protectiveness, strength, honesty, hard-working, skilled with his hands, ..... etc.???
I'm gonna sit back and take notes. :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm glad somebody got it haha! Mulan is my favorite0
-
A spine. :flowerforyou: Sadly lacking in most men I know.0

Having their priorities in order: God then family and serving both selflessly. You can be funny, wealthy, smart and gorgeous but without the right priorities, adrift and without a true purpose.
What she said.0 -
Humility is the key separator. There's nothing wrong with a man who is confident, but a man who knows his strengths and don't take them as his natural due for simply being male... That's rare and to be treasured. That's the man others willingly follow.
There are numerous other factors that I find attractive, but that's the key.0 -

I got it and I loved it! :-)0 -
Rough and tumble on the outside, yet a heart of gold on the inside
Humble
Honest (my husband is honest to a fault!!)
Will do anything for her
Hard working at home and at work - a man's work is never done either
Gentle
Passionate about something (could be work, hobby, sport, etc)0 -
I agree with most of the above postings... I would add (ladies don't kill me haha) that I like it when a "real man" takes charge! Sometimes it is nice to take the backseat0
-
A real man is a giver not a taker. Takes care of his responsibilities, without being asked and without complaint. I like protective and witty. A good daddy. Which luckily my husband is ALL of these and more0

When your walk keeps up with your talk.
Basically, this + able to handle your business.
Everything else, imo, are petty requirements.
"Be bigger and stronger than me and treat me like a princess blah blah blah." That's nice and all, but not required in order to be classified as a "real man."0 -
salary? haha0
