I just did my first day but my weights are way too heavy so I'm going to start when I buy lighter weights. They're 2.5kgs each. I'll advance to the 2.5 kgs after a week or so of doing it. What are you using?

I will. This will be my 2nd time around. Let's hope I lose more than my boobies this time!
  • Yayyy I love when people start 30 Day Shred! I started it in June, did it for about 2 1/2 weeks (not every single day) and got SO toned in just that short period of time! My advice is that the first 3 days hurt sooo bad, but don't give up! Modify it the way you need, but still push yourself. Level 2 is actually FUN! I never did level 3 because i heard its a lot of plyometrics (jumping) and the jumping jacks alone hurt my bad knee in level 1. Have fun with it, and remind yourself... its only 24 minutes!! :)

I will join you. I love the JM workouts, I've done 30DS before and definitely saw results. I'll be honest I didn't lose a lot of weight but definitely saw inch lost.
My advice is take it at your own pace, if you have to do one level longer than the other then do it. As long as it being done that's what matters. When I did it, I moved on when I felt I was ready for the next level.

I am buying it today and starting tomorrow! That is a lot less time that I normally work-out. Does anyone do additional cardio on top of this??

I workout pretty decent when I'm in the gym so I was wondering if when I started this today and level 1 was too easy should I got to level 2?

I don't know what weights I'm going to use yet.. I have a pair of 5lbs and 8lbs.. I'll probably start out using the 5lbs first...

I did level 1 for about 7, level 2 for 10 and level 3 for 13 days. This worked best for me.

I've seen some people using circuit training and others just make a tasking for themselves.. Not sure which one I'm going to do yet.. Let me know what you decide.

The JM website said you burn about 250 calories in 20 minutes.

I logged it as circuit training (25 minutes) and it calculated I burned 200 calories - I probably burned between 150-250 so it's accurate enough for me.

    Hope that helps,

  • I want to join you all on the 30D shred. I will most definitely start it tomorrow (actually today) lol. =) Can't wait, I love Jillian's workouts..

I completed day 1 / level 1 yesterday and it kicked my butt!! I thought I had 5 pound weights but didn't and had to use my 8 pounds... Needless to say after my 20 mins I was sweating like nobodys business and I definitely had to go buy 5 pound weights.. LOL.. Loved it!! Then I took my pup Milo for a 2 mile walk/jog...

I'm not starting until Monday 10/24 because I will be out of town this weekend, but I plan on following this thread to see how you all do. Maybe I will learn something before I start!

i started this morning!! I logged it by creating my own exercise. I wear a HR monitor and I burned 284 cals in 28 minutes! I was impressed with the DVD, I am used to circuit training with my trainer and I felt I could keep up with Jillian but was still pushing myself. I think I will only stay on Level 1 for a few days and advance to Level 2.

My 13 year old and I started on Sunday. Day 4 Level 1 today. She plays soccer and basketball and I am doing Hal Higdon's 1/2 marathon training--just beginning it. I just finished up the B210K--which I really liked. I thought the 30DS would not be that hard!! Haha! My daughter and I are laughing at each other. My daughter doesn't need the scale to move but I do. I have been staying the same. Going to hang in there and trust that the results will come. It's nice to check this thread out for motivation!!! Thanks!!!

Ok Finished Day 4. Felt better today. The lunges get me at the end. Not the legs but the arms!!! off to walk.
Good luck to everyone. Have a great shred!
