I do not have a degree in English.. but seriously everyone..
Lose = to LOSE something (like weight, car keys, mind)
Loose = untightened or relaxed (like a shoelace or your old jeans)
I LOSE weight, therefore my old jeans are LOOSE.
I may LOSE my shoe, because my shoelaces are LOOSE.

My biggest pet peeve!0

I once "corrected" someone's spelling on here for that, with a smiley and everything, and almost got crucified :noway:0

Really? Most people trying to lose weight are already self-conscious enough - now there are being judged on their grammer? Bigger (no pun intended) fish to fry. This website was designed to be a "safe place' free of judgement. Weight loss is not just for the educated.
Keep perspective.0 -

Thank you! This obviously a big pet peeve for many of us. As a college student, I can't believe the amount of people that can't distinguish between you're/your etc!0

You are fighting a loosing battle....haha!0

Another example would be: "That guy is a jerk! LOSE him!" or "Why are you dating a porn star? Can you feel anything? I would think she'd be too LOOSE."0 -
I except you're (almost used your instead) explanation; everyone is wrong accept me! :laugh:0

Ill just say 'yes' because if I say anything else the mods will get me...0
