WHY are there carb arguments every single day?

Because every day someone out there on the 'net thinks he or she is the first to make the argument, that this argument must be made, and that he or she is correct in his or her opinion on the subject.0

Live and let live. We all have opinions built on whatever sources we've been exposed to. For instance, I limit my dairy intake to maybe once or twice a month usually, and have fish about the same or less. What I eat on a regular basis is whole grains, lots of vegetables and fruits and vegan meat alternatives. I drink more than the recommended amount of red wine, not because I think it's good for me, but because I like to. Do people tell me I shouldn't drink that much wine? Yes. Do I give a crap? No. lol Do people tell me human beings are designed to eat meat and dairy and that we need it in our diet? Yes. Do I take them seriously? No. Because I have my own belief system. I'm learning not to lecture others about their diets in contrast to mine on this site or in general, because I don't like people doing it to me.
What I will say is this: Look at the ingredients on the back of your foods. If you're buying a product that has three or more ingredients in it that you can't even pronounce, it's probably time to switch to a more natural brand. lol
Find a healthy LIFESTYLE diet that works for you, and screw what other people tell you unless it's pertaining to your health value system. If you want to be low-carb, high-protein, etc because you swear that it works, go for it. Do what puts you in the right mind frame to get down to business. Cause in the end, YOU are the one who does all the work, not these people. You work your *kitten* off, you lose the weight.0 -
I avoid bananas because they are so high in sugar.
Your trade off, but what was said is truth.
You do not need carbs, or sugar, to find nutrient dense food. You have to be committed and willing to be unconventional.
Bananas are tasty, sweet, delicious, cheap and can be found all year.
But they are full of sugar, there ain't no denying the sugar count.
This may be the path you walk with your diet, but some try to avoid sugar, so for those on that path, bananas remain a bad choice as a source of potassium when other abundant, lower sugar sources abound.0 -

Excellent post OP. It gets tiring reading these redundant debates daily.0

The reason there are arguments on here is that people want black and white answers but nutrition is more of a rainbow.
Protein has many benefits and is nearly impossible to get too much of, but at the same time people push it too much and at higher levels than are really needed to get results.
Fats are high in calories but essential for many metabolic functions.
Carbs are generally good, provide fast energy and are required for building muscle. For the most part the number of carbs doesn't matter too much for most people. Some people are more sensitive to carbs and might lose weight faster by lowering carbs some.
So many of the arguments breakout because one or several people only understand one side of the equation ,if that.0 -

Just like in life - there are many "ideals" to follow and everyone chooses what works for them - as long as they're happy with it, tha's all that matters. I eat a low carb/hig fat/moderate protrein eating plan (ATKINS) and I'm very happy with the results. it's a way of eating I've embraced fully.
but when it comes to ppls choses of eating, why is is anyone's place to judge that. I can see if you're Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper and are helping their clients/contestants - that's what they're there for - but I think , like in life, everyone should be allowed to go they're own way - I made my choices because it's what works for me - doesn't mean it will work for anyone else, or that anyone will agree with it. I'm ok with that0 -

They haven't recognized the limit to the correctness of their position. Truth can be both relative or absolute, depending on the subject.
One issue that is often not fully accounted for (regarding the human body) is it's amazing ability to adequately function and/or even thrive under a variety of circumstances. The body actually adapts to its fuel source and makeup of that source. Many of these issues are moot.
But we all have this interest in improvement and "fine tuning". Que sera, sera.0
