The Gym I go to is near a lot of strip joints so the girls there are all AMAZING. Sometimes inspiring, sometimes intimidating. It's this strange sense of awe, jealousy and 'thank god that's not my job" lol0

This thread got a 1 year bump on it? I got the same thing from a stipper once.....0

Recurring bumps from strippers....... I hate when that happens.0 -
great OP0
-
i'll need to read this post later, haha i forgot i bumped it0
-
I would occasionally work out at 3am because that's when the strippers showed up.0

i actually gave the stripper a chance and read what she had to say. i was most impressed by her articulate and strong writing voice. normally, i imagine strippers to not be that intelligent, for whatever reason. *shakes head in shame* i should not be judging others. no matter what. she could be a PhD for all we know...and finds it liberating to dance in front of others and make extra money to pay her bills. she is not a prostitute. not that i agree with strippers and what they do. but i should just agree to disagree. and the facts are that their bodies are usually pretty tight! but with implants, if any of you have them, is your sensation still there? i love my ta-tas....and while they *are* droopy, they're MINE!0
-
have you ever been to a very low end strip joint? lol...they dont all have hot bodies i can tell you that much.0

There's a stripper that shops at my work who is absolutely ripped. She owns a pole fitness studio that I'm thinking about attending. Excellent upper body workout!0

Now we're taking advise from a stripper?
Doesn't anyone else see any issue with this.
Why not take advise from a certified trainer and a nutritionist?
Wouldn't that make more sense? Take advise from people who are educated in that field?
Just sayin.
How do you know the stripper isnt educated in that field.
Just sayin.0 -

where i live most of the strippers are not cute at all lol or have great bodies. But i did like the advice, i also was unaware that sugar gets you fattest the quickest
You must live here, in Houston. They all have chests, though.... That's about it. Sadly. But, I have not been to ALL of our many locations that we have to offer. That is just based on the 10 or so (low end ones) I have been to....0 -

haha, nice G.
not a bad read. thanks to the OP. Poor strippers...they have such a stigma attached them. Lots do it to put themselves thru school--can make more money in one night than an entire week sitting behind a desk. *kitten* if i had the body i'd do it too...0 -
She mentions she avoids high carb items such as salads - is this a typo?
I would disagree with this statement "nothing gets you fat faster than sugar- not even fat" if you were to choose a treat i/e. donuts vs jube jubes avoiding the fat including the harmful sat/trans kind is definitely better. Perhaps there is a loophole here I am not aware of that sat/trans fat will hurt your heart and eventually kill you but perhaps fat deposits occur most frequently with high sugar items. I'll have to look into that unless anyone knows the answer.
yeh, I thought that about the salad. Maybe she means the type of salads which come coated in dressing?
I don't have a moral issue taking advice from strippers, but she does seem to perpetuate some fitness myths, such as not eating late at night, which makes me doubt some of the other advice.0 -

vegetables are full of carbs - if you read up on the atkins diet, during the first week it advises you to avoid consuming more than a cup of vegetables.0 -
My besty is a stripper, and daaaamn her body is nice. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some squats to do.0

I agree with Becks, that everyone likes to Hate on strippers. If there weren't a willing clientele, there would be no strippers. I'll stop there before beating up on our society full of pornography.0 -
I never wanna be a stripper but I wouldn't mind havin a body like one

I don't have any training in a lot of areas but I can figure out things and make them work.
Strippers don't have to be educated to know that certain exercises and diets keep them in shape.
Besides, anyone can look up enough info to educate themselves and give great advice.
I agree 100%. Well said.
Thanks for the article, interesting and entertaining.
I'd take advice from a guy at the gym with a body or routine I wanted to emulate.
I take financial advice from those I think know what they are doing.
So I'd likely take advice from a person with a great body.... strippers included.
I agree 100%. Well said. And Thanks for the article--interesting and entertaining.0 -
the one that taught the class i took does nothing except pole and eat mcdonalds.0

I've been to many strip clubs and not all of them have great bodies....0

Firstly, the reference is specifically to salad, not vegetables. Secondly, there is no way that salad can possibly be described as HIGH carb. Of course they contain SOME carbs, but lettuce and tomatoes aren't exactly potatos and bread.0
