Made another one using this recipe but took off the cocoa & added some butterscotch essence. Not recommended. The smell was awesome but the flavour just didn't cut it for me.

Yea... that doesn't sound too appealing to me. Gotta have the chocolate! I wonder if you couldn't sub out some of the oats for peanut flour? Hmmmm  Sounds delicious! But I wonder if it would be too dry ?

  • We've made greek yogurt by just using a strainer on normal yogurt. Ours is some silly little yogurt strainer that we got probably from an informercial, but I think the tride and true way is with a cheese cloth. Using cottage cheese is a really cool idea. I've seen yogurt as a substitute before, but not cottage cheese--do you find a difference in taste or texture?

I made a fresh batch before my trip last week using cottage cheese and greek yogurt (less applesauce) and they turned out great! Moister and way more delicious!

thanks for the idea, Chris!

As for the texture of the cottage cheese in these - ahhh I don't really notice it at all? Not too sure. I mean you can definitely tell that they are made with egg whites,, dairy and oats, but the chocolate makes up for it IMO. They're not dessert, but they are pretty damn good!

Wonderful! I'm not a fan of super sweet things so these look perfect. I love the recommendation of crumbling these over fruit! Thank you!
