Most couples I know married/dated their best friends0

Tread very carefully, if it doesnt work out you can risk losing your best friend.0
-
I believe best friends are the way to go.0

It will work out ....But just make sure you take it one day at a time. I ended up with my bestfriend for 3 years... We no longer are together but I think if you know it may work then it will work. Most of the best marriages are those who were bestfriend..hence my parents and they have a great marriage going on 25 years on Valentine's day!0

I think it's vital that you be best friends with your boyfriend. Some might disagree but if you can't just hang out with them, talk and argue, what are you basing the relationship on? Ultimately, it's not what we think that matters! Do YOU have the hots for him? If not, don't go for it. It's hard, if not impossible, to force that kind of feeling.0

I have been married to my best friend/high school sweetheart for almost 17 years!! Do you love spending time with him? Do you miss him when he's not around? Do you get jealous if he is out with another woman? If the answers are yes you might have more than "friend" feelings for him also! Being best friends is a great way to start a relationship!! (as far as I'm concerned).0

Oooo La La!0

Do it honey. If he really is a great friend you'll be stupid happy. Trust me. A significant other is supposed to be your best friend anyway, so you're halfway there already.0

Well, let me give you my two cents worth.
I also am in a very platonic relationship with my best friend. He is 4 years younger than I am, but that does not matter to either of us. He considers me to be his BEST friend, and he is mine. We do everything together, movies, drinks, dinner. He is very charming and I've often thought what would happen if our relationship went to the next level.
It wouldn't work, I would expect things to be different. Things that generally don't bother me, I think would if we were more intimate. We have a great time together, because we expect nothing from one another. It just works well this way.
I hope you make the RIGHT choices for you.....

I married my best friend and we have been married over 4 years. We still have an AWESOME relationship; even better than when we were just friends!0

I just married my best friend in June. But it was after 10 years total of knowing each other but we dated for 3 of the 10 years. Just take it slow!0

I think thats fantastic. I think everybody should be best friend first before they are in a relationship. You go girl.0
-
Do you want to do it to him? If you do... go for it. If you dont... DONT!0

Been married to my best friend for almost 17 years now!0

I was hoping this was gonna be a dude, that would have been funny.0

All you can do is take a chance.0

Same situation happened to me! I took the chance and we were married in Jan of this year. It's great- they know the "real" you and your "bad" side. Let's face it during the first few months of dating someone new, it's wasy to hold yourself together. You are already more or less aware of your relationship history and there is always something to talk about- nothing worse than a long car ride and you have to put the radio on because of the silence- with it being your best friend that's going to be rare! Good luck0

But im not physichally atracted to him that much.
Then you are just good friends. Have you ever heard of consumate love? It's a triangle. Good good friends involves intimacy (sharing thoughts) and commitment (loyalty) but no passion (sex!). You deserve to have all three

Physical attraction fades, but attraction to someone's heart and soul never goes away. If he's a good person, if he would do anything for you and if you can talk to him about anything - don't let that slip away. Years from now you'll be wishing for those exact qualities, especially when you see how hard they are to come by.

I disagree, relationships can evolve and change. They can improve or become ruined forever. Life is not so black and white. IMO. xox0 -
I've been married to my best friend for almost 6 years. Give it a chance. You may surprise yourself. I wasn't so sure that my husband and I were meant to be together romantically, at first. But over time, our relationship has strengthened and I can't imagine a single day without him in my life as my partner. Do what feels right. Good luck!!

I married my best friend...and he still is my best friend!
Looks are something to consider, but we aren't always going to look the way we do today. That goes for the good and the bad. If you base your decision on looks, eventually you will be disappointed. Besides, as people grow to love each other, they generally find the other person beautiful too.
My hubby is HOT and he has gained at least 30 pounds since we've been married. Honestly, he could lose about 50 pounds, but that doesn't change how I feel about him one little bit. Love is a decision and since I have decided to love him and he's my best friend, he's only grown better looking!0 -

You shouldn't marry any guy who isn't your best friend. Just saying.0
